Drove almost 5 hrs. Last year we stayed at Econo Lodge on Topeka BLVD it was nice. This hotel not so much! It was close to 10 PM when we arrived. The girl at the front desk was nice. She had issues with the computer system. No big deal, I work in retail and know what it's like. She was going to put us on the second floor. However because we where so patient she decided to put us in the first. She said she normally saves the room. Room smelled of Mold/Mildew/Piss. Saw a small bug in the bathroom no big deal. Sat a bottle down on the night stand saw a bigger bug! Opened up the drawr Dead bug. Mom killed one. Cock Roaches! Girl moves us to antoher room. My Now 11 oclock not to mention our trip to Walmart to get air fresheners. Husband called another hotel. As soon as we woke up we checked out and went else whare! My stay was for 3 days. Worst hotel I have stayed at.
To start off there was a partially dead bug in our bathroom with a partially working light. We called the front desk and she came and removed the bug and sort of fixed the light. We had to call the next day to get the light fixed. The carpet looked and felt dirty. The tap water tasted awful and we had to ask for bottled water; one bottle a day. The free breakfast was all carbs, greasy sausages, and tasteless eggs all jammed in a small room. On the last morning I saw a bug on my night stand. When we got home a dead bug was in my son's suitcase.
Hotel is in bad neighborhood and appears as if most people live here. Many people & furniture items outside including chairs & grills. Many residents are outside drinking, and are very "friendly," but creepy. Hotel is dirty and very poorly maintained.
This hotel was not bad for the price or a last minute stop we was not expecting to be staying in a hotel where we were doing a delivery but in in up having to rent a Room so I booked through them I was happy with the fact that they were pet-friendly they do have a pet deposit of $15 per pet the Room was not too bad it was clean it did have a steal smell to the air from the carpet but once we turn the air on it wasn't too bad The front desk lady was very kind and was very nice at checking us in and helping out with getting us a extra blanket for the Room If we do end up happening come-back through there for work again we will stay again they do offer breakfast in the morning the only thing that I have a complaint about they did not have a washer and dryer But other than that everything was good 😎
No elevator at this hotel. They put me on the 2nd floor and I had to drag my luggage up the stairs and I broke the handle on my suitcase. The room they put me in had a sofa in it that had numerous large stains on it. The carpet was dirty and stained. There was mold inside of the knob to turn on the water for the bathtub. It was hot in the hallways upstairs. I set the air conditioner in the room as low as it would go and the temp was semi-comfortable in the room but the cool air did not reach the bathroom so it was hot in there when trying to get ready. Would definitely not stay here again.
Great economical hotel. Clean room and great location. The only drawback is they don't have an elevator. Good hot breakfast. They have a pool, but I didn't use it. It was very quiet at night (aside from the fireworks; I was there on July 3). It's right next to 470 and about a mile from 70, so it's convenient.
Desk staff friendly and accommodating, property in good location. Obviously an older motel that has been renovated, so might be some minor issues pointed out by other reviewers, but to me the lobby is well decorated and inviting as was the breakfast area. Room was very nice, bed was really comfy and we slept great. Bathroom is a might small, being a retrofit, but certainly 'do-able' and everything was very clean. One thing of note, floors in our room were not carpet. but rather a wood laminate... took a bit to get used to, but gives a MUCH cleaner feel and appearance. TV, WI-FI, fridge (with freezer for my blue ice packs!) microwave, all worked well. Bottom line, my daughter felt safe despite a late check-in and she thought the motel was clean and comfortable. My daughter is a 'tough customer'... but if she is happy, dad is happy!
It is not a luxury hotel but good price and options to spend the night. Basic breakfast but enough for the traveler, and this is the style in US. just cross the road there is a petrol station has a super market with all necessary items.
Clean rooms. Comfortable beds and the pool area was clean. Breakfast was typical. Carpet in hallways could stand to be replaced (or at least cleaned.) Very easy to find. We will definitely stay here again.
We were traveling and just needed a place to sleep, but I wouldn't choose this place again. We were greeted with a musty smell when we walked in. Rooms were clean, but very small. Fit the bill for a night's crash, but prefer a newer place to avoid the "smell of age."
