The property was beautiful and lovely inside. I was a little disappointed because we’d made a dinner reservation at the restaurant. When we checked in we were told the restaurant wasn’t serving dinner but we were never notified until just then. We came for our anniversary so we wanted to eat somewhere a little more upscale and we ended up finding another restaurant but it was just disappointing. Then later when we were taking a shower I noticed hair all over the tiled shower walls. I have long hair is clearly wasn’t mine and didn’t match my boyfriends short hair. Upon closer looking there was also a piece of trash stuck in the drain which looked to me the top you tear off a travel sized shampoo bottle and we only used the hotel shampoo provided so there was no way that was there from our stay. I really wanted to love this place and it’s so pretty and well designed but I felt let down. I get that maybe they’re short staffed right now but that doesn’t mean you on things as basic as cleanliness.
Only reason I didn't give the hotel 5 stars was the parking. Hotel was very nice. Loved our room and the staff. Hated... really, really, really disliked no parking. Will not stay here again.
The Cyrus awesome! The one thing that could be improved is the lighting in the rooms. The staff was great - very friendly and helpful.
friendly and clean
The hotel is quaint and beautiful. It sits right on a main street. This is nice but a lot of the stores were closed. Our only problem with the hotel was that our sheets were dirty and we didn’t find out until the morning. We had a brown stain on the sheet and we didn’t know what it was for sure. They did bring other sheets up right away when we asked but it did gross us out.
This hidden gem is an artisan treasure I would not have expected to find in the mid-west. From the outside it looks like a normal brick building but inside, you are transported to a classy hotel that has simple yet timeless elegance, modern amenities and comfort that companies or bests some of the top hotels around. If I ever pass through Topeka again, I will definitely stay at the Cyrus. I may even find a reason to visit....
What a fantastic stay. Even with COVID-19, the staff was extremely helpful with pointing us to dog-friendly walks, food options and parking. Felt super safe and really cool art in the neighborhood. Definitely recommend & would stay again!
A very friendly atmosphere. Staff couldn't have been nicer.
Nice and new but the rooms feel small. Makes the whole experience blasé.
I wish that they validated parking. I realize parking is at a minimum in a downtown area, but would be nice if they acknowledged that and validated parking in a lot. Also, was quite surprised being such a nice hotel, they did not have water in the lobby. Seems such a common thing that people want to fill water bottles before leaving for the day. Thankfully we discovered the fitness center had a water dispenser....but would be a nice perk to add to the lobby.
This place was fantastic . I loved the decor and theme of the hotel. The room is spacious . After a long day I was so glad about finding moderately priced snacks and drinks in the room and inside the fridge. I wasn’t there long but the bar restaurant downstairs seemed lively and fun . I did ask if I could have a glass of water and the bartender gave me a whole carafe at no cost. I will be staying at the Cyrus when I return to Topeka!
Excellent across board. Staff friendly. A boutique hotel.
Location, exercise room and the restaurant which had interesting food items.
Great service, cleanliness and modern rooms. Walking distance to Capital and downtown shops and restaurants.
