This hotel was in unbelievably poor condition. Hotel beds are often on a pedestal, right? This one was, but the pedestal was made of 2X8 lumber that looked like it was salvaged from a demolition, and it was crudely nailed together, probably with a nail gun. The paint was peeling off the door, the toilet ran all the time, and the shower dripped, which doesn't sound like a big deal until you try to sleep. The staff were nice and certainly professional, but the physical building has really seen better days.
We visited Topeka for Memorial weekend for a wedding and stayed here at the Holiday Inn Express. The hotel had all the accommodations needed for our short stay. It was quiet on the second floor and the beds were comfortable. The breakfast had lots of varieties to chose from the buffet. Room was clean with mini fridge and microwave. We could walk to Dickie's and there were couple fast foods around. Super Walmart was across the hotel so it was convenient for last minute things we forgot to bring. The hotel also had an indoor pool which was great for the kids in the evening. Overall it was clean and the front desk manager was super friendly with great hospitality.
On our cross country motorcycle trip we pulled into town and chose this hotel. It is conveniently located near places to eat. We were met by a very friendly front desk staff member. The room was comfortable and we would stay here again. Travel safe...
This is a way below par budget hotel although the exterior and rooms at first glance appear to be the same as other HIEs. The mattress was lumpy with water dripping constantly for some reason in the bathroom. I could hear the TV in the room next door so obviously sound proofing these rooms was not considered important to the builders. The king bed was smashed up so close to the window air conditioner that it was almost impossible to get out from that side. The coffee in the room was stale as were the biscuits and other baked goods served for breakfast. Forget the eggs.
My wife & I were particularly pleased with this hotel. It seemed to be better than usually 4-star rated hotels. The area was quiet. The facility was clean, well lit and nicely decorated. The staff was particularly friendly. The room was comfortable and reasonably appointed. The breakfast room was large & clean and a nice selection of foods were offered. We've already recommended this hotel to a good friend who will be traveling through the area.
My wife and I had a very lovely stay at this hotel. The staff was very friendly, but not annoying. The foyer and entire facility, including the pool and spa, were very nice and well-kept. The room was well appointed and clean. The hot breakfast in the morning was one of the best I've ever had in a hotel of this caliber. Overall, I give it five stars for doing everything right.
Stayed one weekend night here recently. It was easy to find, right off the highway. Near to the Mall and the TPAC where we attended a concert. Only a few miles from the venue. Nicely kept hotel with friendly helpful staff. There is an indoor pool, and a breakfast area. In the morning there was a nice free breakfast served that included some hot items, sausage, eggs, etc, as well as the usual pastries, cereal, and the like. Nice sized room had a sitting area and great bed. Linens and bed were wonderful. The couch was a sleeper if additional bed was required. One patron slept on top of it. Great bathroom with super nice tub/shower. Toiletries were top notch. Nice small refrigerator, sink, microwave and coffee area completed this nice room. It was pretty quiet, and we certainly enjoyed the breakfast and our stay there. Thank you!
I was impressed by the rooms technology. Several options for your large TV, HDMI, etc. Plenty of charging ports all over the room. Beds were comfortable and the room was very clean. I would recommend this one.
The staff was friendly and helpful. The rooms are great. The hotel seems clean and is comfortable. Stayed here several times over the year and would stay here again in the future. Each time, staff was pleasant to work with.
My husband and I stayed here on a trip home to Illinois. We found the hotel clean and comfortable. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The hotel is a little bit north of I-70, but easily accessible and worth the drive.
