A true antique hotel. It was clean and rustic. Loved the stay. I had dinner across the street at the Legion. One of the best steaks I’ve had in a long time. Overall a very nice stay in a cool old west kind of place.
DO NOT STAY HERE unless you need to get off of the road due to a blizzard or you’re a hunter. Orbitz didn’t say it didn’t include a private bath, we paid an extra about $30 for one when we got there. It had warped paneling in the shower with water running behind it, there were bugs,it was cold and dirty, and didn’t include breakfast. And the owner had strong political views he assumed all others shared. Stay in Miles City instead.
Great 100 yr old hotel. An oasis of retro cool. Eat at the Legion,
It certainly was unique! Bathroom sinks right next to the bed. Stained wallpaoer from the 50's; a bathroom door style lock to secure the room; rooms are wide open when unused; a window air conditionerblowing cold air inches from my head; and 6, yes 6 (I counted them) trains blairing right next to hotel....needless to say, it was a sleepless night. On the positive side, the bed was pretty comfortable and it seemed clean.
Although an older hotel, it was very clean & very well lit. For the price, it's worth spending a night and reminescing of times past.

We are very confused by your review as it contains many inaccuracies. The Historic Kempton Hotel was built in 1902 and has been operating continuously for 43,267 days without interruption. It is truly an "Historic Hotel", as advertised. Our listing with the Expedia Group, for four rooms only, clearly states "shared bathroom". This is obviously reflected in the daily rate of $55. The option to have a private bathroom is solely that of the guest. The bathroom you mentioned had a serious leak recently, immediately repaired, during our hunting season when we have 100% occupancy. It is scheduled for a complete remodel this winter. There is no "leaking water, there are no "bugs", and the Hotel is never "cold". Our properties are certainly not "dirty". Photographs of the room, #31, are found on our website. Readers of this review should look for themselves and read the reviews. Our Hotel has no Political Bias, only some guests. We truly are sorry for your unhappy experience and offer you a free room at any time.
I am not sure what this means.........anonymous did not communicate with us. Please come see us again and in the meantime we will continue to work on being the Historic Hotel of choice.
