Awesome place to stay
The hot springs being close make this an appealing place to stay and enjoy a night out!
It felt gross that there was carpet in the rooms. This is a place where the main purpose is being in water. No one seemed very thrilled to work there. They were pleasant, but not as pleasant as most resorts. The room had a random used plastic cup on a chair, so I doubt it was "thoroughly" cleaned.
Location was unique. We were not aware that the big hot springs and pool were not part of resort till we go there. Although this lodge did have 2 small clean hot springs pools inside.
This is the second time we have visit this hot spring. We enjoy it very much. The nice soak in the water. The peace and quiet of the rooms. I enjoy stays were it just you and nature.
The rooms were not what we expected. They were old and dirty. One of the sheets came up while we were sleeping and my boyfriend was horrified to see the red stains on the brown mattress. The shower was dirty. There was no WiFi or cell service except in the main building. You think you are getting a room in the large log cabin. No it is the shack in the side. The hot springs were disgusting. They were just hot tubs. Natural water or not, it was gross. It would be a fun camping spot to go hiking. But watch out for ticks. We found 4 on us.
The rooms are much bigger than other hotels and i love it.
Lolo Hot Springs Lodge is conveniently located near Lolo Hot Springs just a bit down the parking lot, the Bear Cave Bar has great food, which makes for a nice weekend getaway.
Location is amazing, it is rustic, there were wild ducks in the pond in front of our room, the hot spring spa was really great after a long day of driving, the family that owns it are just wonderful people and breakfast was everything you need. They even have a couple UTVs you can rent, so we did and spent a second night at the lodge. An unexpected great adventure. Worth driving an extra 50 miles to find! Oh Jask's Saloon is a neat place, it is 7 miles east on hwy 12.
Nice location with a rustic feel. Worth a stay. Clean and comfortable rooms. Water from the hot springs in their private facilities is a must.
The rooms need to be updated. Sheets were old and stained. No WiFi except in the lobby of the lodge. Mattress needed to be replaced. Window was cracked. Pillows were flat. Comforters were old and torn . DVD’s didn’t work.Pay phone in the lobby was a great idea except the lobby closed at 10:00 pm.
Loved the hot spring tubs. Room was big, old but nice. Very quiet and enjoyable.
I wanted to soak in the hot springs that Lewis & Clark used on their 1805 journey westward. The hotel sits between two rock pillars they described in their journals. The hotel is older and not up to date, however, it was clean, quiet, and the staff was friendly. I would stay again and thank them for being at such a historic location. Montana should make this place a state historic site.
Our room was clean. Staff was friendly. Location is beautiful.
Excellent clerk who checked us in - gave tour and everything. Very nice room, comfortable bed and nice service in the bar restaurant. However, the next morning we needed to get gas from the lodge to pick up a broken down snowmobile (There are no gas stations nearby, and the lodge has a huge banner "Snowmobile GAS available HERE"). Only one guy had a key for the pump, and he had already left for the day (before noon) and wasn't planning on being back.
Stayed one night on our way through. Our room with a king size bed was clean and comfortable. There was plenty of room with a futon and kitchen table, along with a sink area separate from shower. Room equipped with frig. The rooms are very well insulated with the cabin walls, and big enough to fit a family of four. The outside grounds are maintained nicely, BBQ pits at most rooms outdoor area. We took a hot springs bath which is included with the room. There is another area with the original old hot springs pool. They charge a extra $9.00 fee. Didn't have time to try that out. The only down fall is the lodge and hot spring area locks up early. All in all its a beautiful place to stay. There is also camping across the street by the river, which seems to be a nice area also
