Courtyard Suwanee by Marriott

My husband and I visited the Courtyard Atlanta in Swanee with my daughter to take her to an interview she had at GA-PCOM. The hotel is literally 2 min from the school. It was very nice and modern. Very clean and the ladies from the lobby where very friendly. I took the rate that included the breakfast. Omg what a good deal! The breakfast is not buffet but rather “a la carte” and prepared right there just for you. If we ever have to go back to Suwannee (hopefully my daughter will get accepted to Med there 😁) I will definitely use the same hotel.

As a business traveler there are certain basics that one expects. I booked this hotel due to location without carefully checking it out I made the mistake once but never again No breakfast, no coffee, absolute minimums. In all fairness property is fairly clean, staff is friendly It is sometimes difficult to find staff as the setup is not conducive to having staff sit in a dinky cubicle that faces a wall. This hotel has a few features such as an indoor pool that I did not use but could be nice. Overall, Hilton or Hampton is a better choice for business people.

Excellent above and beyond customer service at the front desk. Nik, Shirley and Tiera went out of there way to help me. I was surprised at how caring and friendly the staff is. They have Beautiful cleaning rooms, wonder clean pool with a nice workout area. Next time I'm in the area I will definitely be staying would recommend it to family and friends. Jennifer B.

The convenience and cleanliness was very good as I would have expected of a Marriott, but what set this little hotel apart for me was the great smiles and welcoming attitude of the evening receptionists. Taylor and Dominique, thank you- you both make a positive difference and you help make this location stand out among many other choices in the area. Keep it up!

Room fine, beds great. Front desk: Nasty on the phone, hung up on my wife. Unpleasant demeanor in person as well. Almost hateful. Loyal to Marriott, Gold level member, so very disappointing. Bistro employee very nice, but no coffee or food available till 7:30 am on weekends.

The Courtyard is usually a consistent brand, but this location needs some help. To be clear the staff were very nice and fun, but the amenities need help. Our room shower was very low. I'm 5'6" and had to crouch to get fully immersed. Plus the shower head attachment was leaking and spraying out. The lobby bathrooms were out of soap and toilet paper and the workout room did not have sanitizer wipes. In addition, if Courtyard wants to be competitive they need to get in line with the Hampton and offer coffee and breakfast.

With confirmed reservations for 6 rooms, the first group to arrive confirmed 3 times with front desk staff that the final group would be a late arrival. That group arrived at 1:30am to find their room had been given to someone else, despite the multiple confirmations of a late arrival. Front desk staff told us a room at a nearby hotel had been arranged. At 2am we arrived at the new hotel to find there was no room. With part of the group still checked in at the Courtyard Atlanta Suwanee, we asked for a call from the general manager the next morning to discuss the problem. "He's too busy and probably won't call" was the response.

The room has cool artwork but lots of flaws. The light in the bathroom was not working properly. Room service was making noises until 11 at night. We arrived around 9pm. There were housekeeping machines outside the room. They do not offer complimentary breakfast but they offer Starbucks which was closed by the next morning. We had to leave to get breakfast elsewhere. They were vacuuming outside of the door of my room and the deadbolt would not lock.

My stay though was less than spectacular for several reasons. 1. The first floor southern door exit does not latch and is not secure. I came in and out several times without needing a room key. The latch does not work. 2. Housekeeping was almost non-existent. While my bed was made and new towels installed, no new cups, no new coffee supplies, no new soap bars were supplied. 3. On Friday night about 10 PM, I asked the front desk lady to see about the two large piles of garbage by the ice machine on the 2nd floor. I do believe they were removed but they were there for some time.

My mother was staying at a hospital in the area so I decided to stay close by in the Courtyard Suwanee. The other hotel on Celebration Drive looked a little shady so we chose the Courtyard. Desk staff was super friendly and helpful. Breakfast area looked nice. Our room, however, was not entirely clean. Sheets were clean, but the floor did not look vacuumed. Bathroom was fairly clean. But the big thing was that when I looked out on our balcony the screen door had fallen off and was laying across the chair. And on the table was a soda can that had obviously been used as an ashtray. I told the front desk attendant about this when we went out for the afternoon and she said she would get on it right away, however, when we returned for the night nothing had been cleaned up. If the maid didn't even take the time to open the curtain and check the balcony it makes me wonder what else was overlooked. Additionally, the walls and door were paper thin. I could hear people in the next room as well as anyone walking and talking up & down the hallway.
