I have been a member of this hotel chains travelers club for years. Some of the hotels are excellent while some need work. This one is in pretty good shape but could use some upgrades. We were in town for the 70th birthday of a dear friend and wanted to stay close to Hammerheads where the function was held and we found this hotel. Upon check-in, we were told they were sold out and the reasons which was probably reflected in the price. We expected a noisy evening but were pleasantly surprised how quiet it was all night long.We checked out on the tail end of breakfast hours and the staff went the extra mile getting my wife something the buffet was out of---nice finish to an enjoyable stay.
Room was very huge, bed really comfortable. A/C wasn't putting out a lot of cold air even though it was set on 63. Front desk ladies were nice at checkout. Drink machine on 1st floor took our money & front desk person didn't seem to care. Asked for late check out & front desk person said she would let housekeeping know. At 11:00 am housekeeping was knocking on door. Location is great- close to restaurants, movie theater & expressway. I would definitely stay here again, but would make sure a.c in room is kicking.
We have stayed at this Comfort Inn and Suites for several years and have always found it to be comfortable for a several day stay. The desk employees are great..always friendly and willing to give any information you need while in the area. Leslie at the front desk is amazing ! They have redecorated since our last visit, and are continuing to do more each year. We have found if anything is wrong, they will do whatever possible to correct the problems for you.
If you find yourself in GA and the weather is hot...stay away from this hotel. AC was on its last leg, bsthroom was falling apart, the room needs a new face lift, breakfast was horrible!!! Pay a few dollars more and you might get a better cleaner hotel...
I am beyond FRUSTRATED with how I was double billed for a room in which I SHOWED UP, CHECKED IN, attended my event Dec 2016. My room was prepaid in October 2016, I reserved a room prior to the prepay, the same day of the prepaid room I called, spoke to a rep whom told us on the call the reservation was CANCELED for the Dec 2016 stay. I checked my credit card and was charged $124.xx for a NO SHOW. I am LIVID. I WILL NEVER EVER reserve or book another stay at Comfort Inn & Suites for my business trips, personal nor community events ever again. In addition I am sending the info to my business corporate office for others to not book either. I could have stayed in another hotel for over $200 for the night. I've booked and stayed in Comfort Inns for YEARS and have never had such horrible service. This review is not about the staff nor the hotel for my stay it IS about robbing me of $125 for a no show when I clearly was there, provided the receipt I SIGNED FOR when I checked in and out and provided to me from the staff.
This is by far worse comfort inn the room huge just empty space, for 117.00 I was ripped off supposed to be a suite, bed supposed to be king it wasn't, room big with empty space TV so far back can barely see, old model fridge and microwave, stained rag in bathroom of room 201 that supposed to be nice suite, DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY OR TIME, PLEASE GO, 10 MINUTES DOWN ROAD TO BEST WESTERN EXIT 104, BETTER ROOM, DEFINITELY LOT CLEANER,. BIG COMFY BED, AIR/HEAT WORKS, AND YOU CAN SEE THE TV OH MUST MENTION NEAR EVERYTHING WITHIN WALKING, N WITH TAX N ALL 96.00, YOU WILL DEFINITELY THANK ME, and I usually stay different hotels on weekends, this probably be last time I stay here it's a disgrace to comfort suites!
Stayed here after the motel we originally booked said our Canadian credit card wouldn't work even though it is accepted wordwide and we had been using it in Florida for 2 weeks without any issues. Anyway thats another story for that chain to follow up with. Paid 89.00 US + tax which I thought was a bit high ( especially with the conversion to Canadian $)with CAA card which was more than the other hotel but what can you do when it is 9 pm and pouring rain and you have beendriving all day. Check in person was friendly and nice lobby. Room we got was on second floor on Interstate side-very noisy with the traffic. You can hear alot of bouncing and banging from other rooms- found a long bug on a pair of pants that were left on the floor overnight but I'll leave it at that.Breakfast included and was okay-nothing fancy- cereals, toast, waffles, eggs, etc. Bathroom was clean and shower water pressure was great. Would stay again if passing through.
The hotel was adequate. I stayed in a king suite that was nothing special. Due to the hurricane, I am giving them a pass. I rated it 3 which was a little generous. A/C not working, but maintenance replaced the unit within two hours. Breakfast was only fair. Room was clean, bed comfortable.
Due to hurricane, had to stay in GA additional days. Corporate found this hotel. Hotels seemed to be a bit understaffed at times. Issues at breakfast in the morning. Everything was gone and their was at least an hour left. Cereal was all poured out under the dispensers. Waffle mix was out. I asked the lady who was at the breakfast station were they going to refill it. She mumbled something. Another lady who noticed everything was out asked me what she said and I told her I had no idea. She also asked her about refilling items. A few minutes later, the hotel staff member literally walks away from the breakfast area and disappears. She had a scowl on her face. The lady then asked the front desk about restocking the food. She seemed a little frazzled but she came over to tidy up a little. In a few minutes she says she is not the breakfast attendant and they are understaffed. She went back to her station to check in a patient. By now, more people were coming down upset that everything was out. I ended up getting food outside of the hotel which was a shame. Day 1, I was able to have Chobani yogurt, which was nice. It was out the rest of my stay. I was having a discussion with the lady and her husband from breakfast and she mentioned she was on a fixed income and that they had to pay almost $250 per night there but had no choice because there was not many rooms left in the area. She didn't feel it was fair they had bumped up the rates and also felt they were taking advantage of people seeking shelter after evacuating for the storm. My first two nights there, did not rest well. Sounded like someone was running above me all night. Figured it was a small child and hoped they would be leaving the next day. Weird because there are high ceilings in the room but you can hear conversations and noise from surrounding rooms. After the noise continued the second day, I spoke to the front desk and asked if they get complaints for noise. She told me not really. She said she would go up and speak to the people above me after she finished checking the next guest in. Didn't expect much. I was more attentive when walking in my room because I noticed creaking in some areas and didn't want whoever was below me to experience what I was in my room. Finally, the third day, I think the people above me must have checked out because it wasn't nearly as bad. Beds were a little on the softer side but rooms were really big and roomy which was a plus. Would not have been as bad if it wasn't for the noise the first couple of nights, issues with breakfast and attitude of some of the staff. Maybe the staff is disgruntled because they are overworked.
We arrived late, without a reservation. The gentleman at the front desk was a young. However he was very polite and checked us in with no problems. The room was nice and roomy. Bathroom was very clean. Pool was small but inside. Breakfast was available but we did not have time to try it. Overall a good stay.
