We needed a quick weekend trip to visit the island and we stayed at the Island House Hotel. The staff were extremely helpful and professional they kept our devices while we explored the island before our check-in time. The ferry took our bags straight to the hotel so we didn't have to take them with us and after we checked in they brought them up to our room. The hotel was very clean and the body wash smelled so good that we are purchasing it for our home. The rooms are small but I can see why. Breakfast was not free but the service was great, Next time we will just have breakfast off the property. We loved it and would stay here again, it's in a perfect location. Not in the middle of Main Street chaos but close enough that you can sit and watch.

A magical Mackinac Island experience!!

We absolutely loved our stay at Island House! From the moment we arrived, we felt welcomed and cared for. The historic charm of the hotel is beautifully maintained + you feel like you’re stepping into a storybook. Our room was clean, cozy, and had that perfect blend of old-world character and modern comfort. We especially loved sitting on the front porch with a coffee in hand, watching the bikes go by and soaking in the island breeze. The location is perfect & tucked just enough away from the crowds, but still a super short walk to everything downtown. Customer service was kind and responsive. We appreciated the peaceful atmosphere and the attention to detail throughout the hotel. Only note: the hot tub was a little cooler than expected, but we still appreciated having it as an option after a long bike ride. As a lifestyle and wellness content creator, I’d absolutely love to work with Island House in the future and the ambiance and charm are exactly what I love sharing with my community. Thank you for the lovely experience we’ll definitely be back!

The property was in relatively good shape. Rooms are small, and view from room was not interesting. However, we did not go there to spend time in the hotel room. The hotel is in a great location. Convenient to walking from ferry and the shops downtown. We ate breakfast at 1892 and dinner one night at Ice House BBQ on site. Both were great. The front porch and lawn offer great view of the marina and harbor.

Everything was great except they advertise complimentary water and take the water dispenser down after 6 to 7pm. Bottled water ranged $6 to $10. No other options were offered when at 8:30pm I needed water to take medication.

accommodating for my wheelchair for last minute reservation was a plus!. I wasn't able to get ada room, but the room I was in had no stairs, was able to get in, and very tight squeeze for bathroom. I have a manual wheelchair. All the elevators were easy to work. I was able to get around the property.

I was between this hotel and a few others and I'm so happy that I chose Island House! The location can't be beat. It's just around the corner from Main Street and right across the street from the marina. The food options on site were excellent. We even were able to rent bikes right out front which was super convenient. If we go back to the island, we will definitely be repeat guests!
