Entering the hotel you are hit with the horrible smell of chlorine and cigarette smoke and greeted by decor that has been poorly kept since the 60s. Unbeknownst to us, we had booked a room with a whirlpool (poor advertising on the part of Orbitz) and were shocked to find there was no availability to change us to something else. The room itself was clean but awkward, having only one end table, a jerry-rigged TV, and no decorative touches. The floor also had shoe prints all over it and the kitchenette sink did not work. This hotel is also located too far from Traverse City to enjoy a nice walk in. Overall, for the $200 we paid for the night we expected a great deal more.

We arrived in our room to find a guy laying on the bed...front staff gave us the wrong room :( the showe was going from warm water to very cold also...walls are thin, had to turn on the fan room to not hear next room...nice view though

Bed was not comfortable, neither was the furniture. But I guess you get what you pay for

Smelled bad in the room and around the hotel. Could of had better service during breakfast at the hotel (breakfast was good). No hotel staff interaction at all. The coffee was not the best.

Took our teenaged boys on a quick trip before the oldest leaves for college, the bunk bed suite was perfect for our family of four. Great views of the water and easy access onto the beach. Wish breakfast was included for the price we paid. Rooms could use some updates (the hungry caterpiller sheets on the bunks were very worn and the bathroom is showing its age) but the room was clean and comfortable. Front desk mistakenly billed our credit card despite already having the money thru Orbitz but issued the credit the following day.

took them 2 days to fix outdoor shower valve on beach.tracked all that sand into hotel lobby and into my room.after 3 night stay and 2 reports the ice machine on my 4th floor still did not work at all.carpet outdated and dirty.front desk person gave me bad directions to winery location.front desk had to correct my total bill twice before getting it right.First and last time this hotel will get my money

Great hotel and location. Very nice view and beach just few steps from the hotel.

We stayed for 2 nights. Check in was fast and efficient. The hotel has a restaurant that offers room service at a very reasonable rate. We had a room facing the water with a small balcony which was very nice. Hotel has beach access but looks nothing like the attractive photos the hotel has posted. The hotel is showing its age and could use updating. There's nothing "resort" about it.

Comfortable and quiet hotel. Nice view of the Bay.

Disappointing, pool was freezing, breakfast was minimal and stairway dirty..Overpriced for what pictures are shown.

Front desk was friendly and helpful but property needs work. Bed was uncomfortable, pillows were thin, towels were dingy, shower spray was weak, TV was tiny. Took my kids to the pool - we had to go to back to the front desk to sign out towels then check them back in at the front desk after we were done swimming. Just not up to today's standards.

Beach is awesome; road is noisy. Food at the restaurant was great!! Staff was awesome, very accommodating and friendly.

Room heater was loud and made sleeping difficult.

Great beach for a family vacation! We loved happy hour too.

I searched online for a hotel in the Traverse City area for my husband and myself as we were having a few days vacation and thought upper Michigan would be a nice place. In reading the other reviews of this hotel I noted that they were mixed but thought I would take a chance. Sadly, I was disappointed - and that was with taking my Diva attitude down considerably. Our room was on the 2nd floor and we faced the parking lot - which was fine but there was no balcony and the front awning/cover of the hotel obstructed most of our window. The room was showing its age and looked rather worn out. Our bed was king size as requested and came with four pillows but they were the saddest pillows EVER! They were about the size of a throw pillow for a chair and just as hard. I know that pillow plumpness is a personal thing but the size was ridiculous. The hotel offered a hot buffet breakfast in the morning at $7.99 per person but only $5.99 if you were a hotel guest. As the hotel did have a restaurant I presumed that the breakfast would be fairly good. However, for me and my husband it was not. Everything seemed to be very cheaply done with plastic plates, cups and utensils. The french toast was soggy and chewy. The bacon had seem better days and the scrambled eggs were gray. I stuck to a self-toasted bagel and some cold cereal to be on the safe side and my husband tried the other selections so the comments are his. So even for $5.99 it was not good at all! For the remainder of our stay we went out to breakfast and had great food for just a bit more money. When we went down to breakfast we had put our do not disturb sign on the door so that when we came back we would not interrupt having our room cleaned. We then went out around 11:30 and removed the sign but when we returned at the end of the day our room had not been touched. I asked at the front desk if we missed having our room done due our not leaving until 11:30 and was told that no we should have still had our room taken care of as the staff don't leave until around 2:00 or so and should have come back. But it was noted and the next few days were fine. Although, I tried using the hair dryer the next morning and it died so I left I note for housekeeping. When we returned our room was clean, my note was still there but the dryer still didn't work. On our way out later I mentioned it to the front desk staff asking if housekeeping had let them know and they said that they hadn't been advised but would take care of it - which they did by the time we returned. Perhaps my mistake was thinking housekeeping would pass my message along were as I should have advised myself. The hotel was on a beach which was very nice with plenty of lounge chairs but no shade anywhere - make sure you bring your own shade umbrella if too much sun is an issue. I thought that we got a deal but for the monies paid I was very disappointed and next time will check out something along the lines of a regular hotel not a resort. Which is where another couple that we met stayed and they said it was much better than how ours sounded. While I thought I was booked a resort facility for our vacation I was pretty disappointed. And yes, I have stayed in plenty of lower cost hotels so I'm not such a diva. Perhaps for others this place would be great - especially with children with the beach right there. The water and sand were very clean so it was a nice beach area. I would be very hesitant to recommend this hotel to others unless I knew what their expectations would be.

We had a wonderful time. The staff of the hotel was all excellent!! The view from our room of the bay was beautiful!!

Loved it, even though it was the coldest weather possible!

we had and awesome time staff was nice had a great time looking for a weekend go to the park shore resort

hotel and staff were great quick check-in nice restaurant and lounge with live entertainment

Used my rewards for room which was awesome price to stay. Balcony open to the beautiful waters of Grand Traverse Bay. Ideally located to get to shopping, dining and casino. Casino pick up at the hotel. Great bar and music at night. Would stay again!!
