Portlander Inn and Marketplace

Good place for a short stay

The Portlander has a convenient location close to the airport, with an convenience store, restaurant, laundromat, postal center, and even a small movie theater. The staff were friendly and helpful during my visit, and the room was clean, but very basic. The east wing is sightly inconvenient (a short walk) to the other facilities, and is next to the truck stop which is part of the same large Jubitz facility. If the noise from the truck stop did bothers you, the excellent local craft beers on tap at the bar can fix that. I had no trouble sleeping until the groundskeepers arrived a few minutes before my 9am alarm. Using Orbitz, I was offered a very competitive rate for a one night stay. This made the Portlander an excellent value. I expect to return to the Portlander again on future trips, but if I plan to spend more time in the room than required for sleep and hygiene, I may pick a more luxurious hotel - but I expect
