The positive, which won’t take long, was a beautiful view and a brand new room. The negative, from the moment we entered the facility, I should have known this was not a resort. The 3 people at the desk could not have seemed more put off. Mind you, the place was empty! Later, I had called down for info on Zion Canyon, like best route, how far & a place to stop for breakfast and the person had no advice. Literally zero. Agree with other reviews on their one dining area. We got there at 8:30pm and was immediately told the chef stops cooking at 9 so quickly place your order. The next day were gone all day & returned to an unclean room. The cleaning service only made one bed, left dirty towels in room, didn’t wipe down bathroom. I’m baffled how they can use the word Resort in their name. This is definitely mismanaged and the employees don’t care. We will never stay here again and absolutely let friends know not to stay here.
I stayed here to be near the swim start for the 70.3. The building looked brand new, with cues that it was still under construction (putty repairs throughout the hallways waiting for new paint). Room was clean, nice views and I found it quiet. Pillows were terrible -bought new ones at walmart. One day the TV and wifi quit working but the two girls from housekeeping made a call and resolved the issue quickly. Safety: The map of the exit in my room was incorrect. I was immediately beside the stairwell but the posted map directed me to the other side of the floor. The elevator access is on the other side of the floor and is not marked. THERE ARE NO PHONES in the building. If you injure yourself, have a heart attack, or are choking...be sure to have the emergency number handy and be sure your phone is charged and within reach. I was told that because these units are privately owned...there is no responsibility provide a communications outlet. I ate in the clubhouse once. Food was mediocre at best- what I would expect to see at a halfway shack. The location is far from town with the closest "amenities" being the Walmart on the highway, approximately 15-20 minutes away.I think the location is fine if you are focussed on a golf holiday. If you're looking for amenities, food choices, shopping and entertainment...stay in St.George. You need to be self-sufficient to stay here...if you're expecting goods and services, you won't find it here.
We were staying at the Sand Hollow Resort for the 70.3 triathlon since it was close to the transition area. We booked the condo for one night, and sadly weren't able to check in until 4pm (and we were out the next morning by 5 am). The rooms looked really nice and spacious and we literally dropped our stuff off at 7 pm after running around all day and headed to dinner at the resort. We opened the door to the condo and a cockroach crawled across the floor. After finally looking around the place, I found another dead cockroach in our kitchen, and then a dead roach of some kind under the tv in the bedroom. I called to complain, and the receptionist didn't even apologize. They offerered to move us into a different unit, but at this point it was 10 pm and we were getting up at 5 and didn't want to deal with it. When we were going to bed, we pulled back the covers to discover blood all over two of the pillows on the bed. Clearly the condo had not been cleaned at all. There was also no fitted sheet, and the mattress and sheets were very cheap. (we stayed in 2-101c). I spoke with the General Manager, Suzan, about what happened, and she said she would talk to housekeeping and get back to us. Of course, nothing ever happened despite leaving a voicemail message back to her and an email. While the resort itself is beautiful, I would never stay here again- it is extremely unsanitary!
The room was huge but awkwardly designed. We had issues with our heat/AC and TV our first night. The nice staff tried to fix both but only succeeded with the TV so we had to switch rooms at 9 pm. We were unhappy, obviously, but the next day the manager Susan worked hard to turn it around for us and we ended up with a better feeling about the resort. Amazing, gorgeous golf course and the on-site restaurant (which you will use since the resort is in the middle of nowhere) was very good.
Stayed in Bldg. 4, Unit 202 from 13 - 17 March 2019. First the good. Large unit with 2 large bedrooms ( one with king bed/ one with two queen beds ), kitchen facilities (stove, microwave, fridge, dishwasher), washer/dryer in unit, and a great view of the desert area. Plenty of hot water. THE ISSUES: For over $200 a night the following is unsatisfactory. For two of the three day stay the heat did not work in the entire unit; temp indoors was in the mid-low 60's as units blew cold air or did nothing. Staff availaable on site were not trained nor able to remedy the heat issue until evening of day two when a facility security man was able to fix the problem. From day 1 the TV in one bedroon was inoperative. Management office was contacted and the TV issue was not resolved during entire stay. No clothing hangers in any closet or in the entire unit, Finally got 7 hangers from the security man the evening of day two after front desk requests went without any action. Had to call the front desk to get two rolls of toilet paper as the day staff did not replenish it. It appears staff is not trained or experienced to resolve issues. Note we paid a Resort Fee of @29 per night on top of the room rate. It appears these units are owned by individuals and are managed by a on site management entity. While the units are spacious, with good views, the management company personnel we encountered are not trained or experienced enough to deal with the day to day operations. Many issues existed in the unit in Bldg 4, unit 2002 were not addressed prior to rental of the unit, or even after the unit was occupied.
This property is really new and front desk told me it was finished less than 1 month ago. Therefore, the building has a very strong chemical smell. In the corridor, it is so strong that you cannot breath at all (we are chocking badly there). The room is better, but only not too bad after opening the windows for several hours. We talked to front desk about this issue. They showed the willingness to help but told me there are no other rooms available, though 4 out of the 7 buildings have less than 10% occupancy. The room is also dirty and has dust everywhere (see my photos). It does not provide housekeeping either, which is a total surprise to me and not tolerable. When I tried to turn on the lamp, there was no bulb in it (see photo). How ridiculous can this be! Stay away!
A little pricey and needs some updates if you are used to modernization. No USB outlets so bring your charger. The casita has nice little kitchenette, outstanding views, and beds are comfortable. Not much around there but the golf course and restaurant which is very good and people are friendly. Overall, would go back with a group.
We loved our stay at Sand Hollow. We reserved a one bedroom studio but were pleasantly surprised to find our unit was a 2 bedroom 2 bath spacious apartment with a beautiful view of the 8th hole. Everything was very clean and the unit smelled brand new. The unit had everything you could need for a week stay. It's out of town and off the beaten trail which is exactly what we were looking for. Very quiet and private. We enjoyed the golf course, the hot tub, Ride Sand Hollow ATV adventures and the grille. Thank you Sand Hollow for making this a perfect vacation!
We booked a 2 bedroom condo room and it turned out being bigger and nicer than we expected. It had a nice big kitchen and living area and the 2 bedrooms were excellent. It was a very nice place to stay and is very conveniently located for visiting Sand Hollow. We'll definitely be staying there again. The also have a really nice pool and hot tub.
We stayed for 1 night on a road trip in May 2018. Hotel was easy to find, check in was quick and easy. There were 2 of us. Our accommodation had 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and a whole host of other rooms, beautiful kitchen & living area... truly stunning. There were all of the usual amenities, coffee maker, toiletries in both the bathrooms, hairdryer, etc. The only challenge we had there was around food. There was an on site evening menu advertised but the kitchen wasn’t open when we were there so we drove around an unfamiliar area trying to find somewhere that sold food. Eventually we found a petrol station open to buy crisps and sandwiches but it wasn’t quite the dinner we were thinking we were going to have. Breakfast was fine, though a little confusing about what was included and what was charged extra but it was tasty and did the job. Overall a lovely stay but would be helpful to advise options of where people can go for dinner.
