When I booked the hotel I booked it because I have 2 9 year olds that love swimming. On the website it doesn't say or maybe I missed it that you have to pay extra for the waterpark which in my opinion if your a guest at ghe hotel it should be invluded at no additional cost you have to pay even if yoyr not going in the water. Also the arcade was a big disappointment all the machines were broken and they cost a dollar each to play.

The water park and arcade was closed during the week days. Very disappointing for my daughter.

Very Clean, large hotel, great breakfast. Good for Families

The pool use is not very well described, hotel guest must pay to use it even your just a spectator. children need to be a certain height and has limited hours. Also open to any Holyoke resident who doesn't like the city pool.

Nice hotel, clean, staff was NOT helpful. Our room was not cleaned for the two days of our stay and the AC did not work properly, but the location and over all was average.

Was not told majority of hotel was under renovation. Odor of fuel oil and musty. Will not return.

The hotel is in the process of being renovated, so it may be better later. Now, the parking lot is an unpaved dustbin (the car got horrendously dirty), and the whole place looks torn up and like a dump. We stayed in the old rooms, which are clean and spacious but the place looks terribly run down, the building and fixtures are OLD, and the king sized bed and furniture appeared newer but the bed was hard and not comfortable. Still, the location is good and they had the best price of anywhere around.

I saw online that parts of the hotel were under construction, what wasn't clear was that the place was going to look condemned and everything would be torn apart. Sadly the city hasn't helped this place out, they have torn up part of the street leading to the hotel, making it look even more like no one is there. When I drove up, there were zero cars in the parking lot, the seal coat was severely weathered and weeds were growing through cracks. Signs for the hotel were low to the ground, no big sign saying they were open or large logo sign. I drove around the property, it looked like only construction(demolition trucks) trucks were there. I almost left. I drove back up front and tried the front door, to my surprise it opened. As I walked in I saw the front desk, completely dismantled. The desk staff were set up on a table. Again, everything was under construction. I seriously didn't know what to think. I noticed on the table their reservation sorter that had probably 20 or so reservation slips as if other people were really coming to stay there so I felt a bit more at ease. I checked in and went to my room. Let me say, everything on the outside is old, falling apart, broken or under construction, etc. Once in the part of the hotel where people actually stay, it wasn't that bad. It isn't 5 star but I've stayed in worse. The room was clean. Beds looked ok, towels were decent. They had a little refrigerator which I liked. Coffee in the room was adequate. I stayed on the side that faced the parking so I heard some doors closing when people came in but after 9 or 10 all seemed quite. I did like that the staff noticed my concern when I checked in and called me when I got to my room to see if it was clean and acceptable. A sign they care and know the situation wasn't ideal. Cleaning staff did a good job. I left something on the bed and they left a nice note saying they didn't make the bed because they can't move personal items. When I had to call to get something, it was quickly brought to me. Breakfast is nothing to write home about. It is not as good as most free breakfasts you get at hotels in this price point. I suspect because they are under construction and not very many people are staying there, it is hard to have a decent free breakfast. This place could use some good signage at the front to indicated they are still open, and apology sign about construction would be nice. If you stay here I recommend going with zero expectations and a very open forgiving mind.

Major construction was taking place that required parts of the facility to be closed. The parking lot and the road leading to the hotel are in terrible condition.

Pleasent enough. There was a spring sticking out of one part of the mattress, however.

the hotel gives as bit a "run down" impression. the key to the room didn't work initially and the shower never was more than lukewarm. the people there though were very pleasant, and attempted to fix problems right away. The indoor swimming pool is nice and the breakfast was good

This was a good alternative to downtown Springfield. Less expensive, easy access to downtown. Great breakfast included

appearence in landscaping and building very poor, side door didnt need a key to get in, upon entering it had a great odor and the room didnt smell fresh and the bathroom smelled like a public restroom (urine). when i arrived i was hoping the motel would be just as good as the service i recieved at the front desk. pool area smelled so bad of chorine. im sure it used to be a very nice place many years ago.

The hotel was very expensive! The hotel was very noisy! Had construction going on. Booked hotel because there was an indoor and outdoor pool, rain was in the forecast, and the inside pool was closed for construction. When the were finally able to use the outdoor pool, very loud noise from the construction going on for the indoor pool. Booked a room rate that included buffet breakfast and when we got to the restaurant, they had no buffet because hotel occupancy was low and we had to order off the menu. The second day breakfast they had one staff member help at least 40 people or more and had to wait quite some time for our drinks and coffee.

I thought the hotel would be much more then it was. I thought the location wasn't the best and the cleanliness was not up to par.

For a one night stay the room was very clean and comfortable. When we got to the room, the bed was just a Full size! We were too tired to try to switch rooms so we just stayed. The only other complaint we have was that there was no pad on the ironing board so our clothes didn't get pressed well.

The rooms were comfortable, but the cieling had cracks along its edged that produced a dampish odor.

The Clarion Hotel West Springfield was very clean and comfortable for our overnight stay. The staff upon arrival were very helpful with a minor problem that had developed a piece of our belongings that had broken. It is very convinient to The Big E. We had a great buffet breakfast prior to our leaving with all stations full and hot.

Nice indoor pool, sports bar, laundry room. Was perfect stop for the middle of our trip so we could do our laundry. When we checked in we were interested in going to a movie. Not only did they have directions for us but actually had movie times also! Hotel is getting tired as its in need up updating as I saw broken ceiling tiles for example but a nice amenities hotel none the less.

loved the bedding.....didn't need to rip it off the bed as one does at most hotels. New comforter, pillows and towels...was wonderful!! My only concern was that there was not a restroom near the pool area.
