I was to stay here for 4 nights. The reservation was pre-confirmed by my husband. I had to delay trip by a day due to weather BUT called the hotel directly to confirm that I still wanted my room and communicated that I understood I would pay for the night I was missing. Chatted about the bad weather and was told not to worry - my room would be waiting for me once I arrived. After a 6 1/2 hour drive, I arrived and was told by the clerk that my reservation was cancelled. She non chalantly said, 'well it looks like they checked you in and then checked you out' as if that was all the customer "service" I required. When I said whoever did that to a confirmed customer was an idiot, I was told that if I made another comment like that, the police would be called. I kid you not. Manager: Bobby Rollins; Desk clerk with attitude: Randi Clark. Worst hotel and "customer service" on the planet. The takeaway: giving away a long time Mariott member's confirmed reservation is Okie dokie at Marriott Residence Inn Pinehurst/Southern Pines. And when they get upset and refer to who did it as a less-than-intelligent person, the customer gets an added bonus of being threatened.

I have traveled the world working for BTI and American Express International Travel, and stayed at many Hotels Domestic and abroad, and by far the staff at this hotel in Southern Pines @Residence Inn is the best!! Janea and Meagan (prob spelled names wrong), are the ones i got to know the best, but all the staff are very accommodating and kind..Some of my stays some amenities were not always in working order but because of the staff professionalism and kindness had to keep coming back, and the cookies of coarse, they are very good!! Housekeeping was great also.

It was such a joy to stay here!!! The staff was always so helpful and always smiling I've never seen such happy employees. And the housekeeping staff was exceptional I had pets and they always worked around our schedule. The front desk was always offering me suggestions on were I could go to hang out and very helpful about the area. Breakfast staff was always busting tail and and taking time to check on us. Great place really felt like home!!

If you are staying here for a quick trip, the amenities that Marriott provides its hotels are great. If you are moving across the country and relocating your family and temporarily staying here for a long time, DO NOT STAY HERE. My company card was provided and charged, my personal card was ALSO charged. The one that I gave for "incidentals". A two week stay and it cleared my account. It also happened to my boss. And they charged me in a Wednesday and I didn't even check out until Saturday. I waited for the manager for 45 minutes to fix the issue and she never showed. I called the hotel to fix the issue and was told it was outside business hours and he couldn't help me (6pm). I then called Marriott corporate. They magically got a hold of someone. The manager told them they offered me assistance and to speak with my bank to clear the refund. Since it was untruthful I had to stay on the phone and speak with a Marriott corporate customer service supervisor. About a week later I finally got my money. Then, after I check out I get charged $150. I call the front desk and he tells me it is a miscellaneous charge and he can't tell what it is. So now I am waiting for the Manager to "call me back".... She can't even show up to work on time. I have put in a complaint to Marriott and am actually waiting for them to call me back. Not to mention the floors were dirty and the walls had tape everywhere on them when we checked in. Dirty practices ran here. There is my story of why your relocation or extended stay could be a NIGHTMARE.

I had a good experience during my stay. When I checked in, they had a nice little welcome gift that consisted of a bottle water and treats. They put a personal touch by having a little card with my las name on it, which was sweet. They were also serving beer, wine and some food for their mixer that Monday evening. I would stay here again.

A clean, affordable, professionally managed hotel. Henry at the front desk was so helpful in helping me print something from Word for school. How many front desk personnel would help with a school project? Not many that I know of. Marriott needs to hire Henry to teach other front desk people. He's an Army veteran for what it's worth. The manager's reception during the week is a great timesaver too, to grab a quick bite or a few drinks. Good job, I'll be back to this hotel as long as Henry is around.

Typical of Marriott Residence Inns. Room was spacious and clean. One thing we noticed here was a strong musty smell in the hallways that remind you of an older beach hotel. This was not present in the room however. Grounds and facility were clean and well kept. We did not use the morning breakfast due to early golf tee times. Would stay here again.

This place like all of the other residence inns was awesome. Nice staff and your own little home away from home. I enjoyed the evening socials and breakfast was great every time. It was also nice the you could walk across the street to a little shopping mall for something to do. If you have a pet then bring it along because there are places a plenty for roaming around.

The rooms in a 2 bedroom suite were somewhat small and the housecleaning staff, even though I tipped daily, were not thorough. Amenities were not always replaced and items they should clean were not done. I reported a sliding door off the track in my room 3 times, it was repaired incorrectly once, I gave up. The breakfast was okay with a very pleasant server and the desk personnel were good, The evening function with beverages etc was nice.

Stayed 16-24 Mar. Check in was a breeze and very attentive staff. Excellent extended stay with spacious room and kitchenette. Walking distance to all the bars, restaurants, grocery stores and shops. Excellent crafts beer available. Limited gym with aerobic machines and dumbbell with outdoor pool and Jucuzzi. You also have complimentary access to a Gold Gym close by. BBQ area and gas fire pit for socializing. Complimentary hearty breakfast with oatmeal, eggs, biscuits, cereal, etc. Manager special (Mon-Wed) for comp food and beverages incl beer/wine. To Improve: housekeeping, very slow at times and require some initiative training. Thank you for an awesome stay.
