Hotel Zetta San Francisco

4.0 out of 5.0

Recent guest reviews

Great location. Fantastic bar and game area. Really friendly staff - very willing to give directions/suggestions.

I found Hotel Zetta on Orbitz and the price was good and the reviews were great so I took a chance. The hotel exceeded our expectations. It is a bustling area of the city which made walking to all the different areas easy enough, and it's right off the Powell St. Bart exit so getting there from the airport was inexpensive and easy. The bed was so comfortable! We both felt it was a roomy-room especially for the city, and it was clean and not cluttered. We made use of the complimentary $10 toward the mini-bar if you don't have room service...which was awesome. The reason I really want to highlight this hotel though, is that they went over and above...and I mean over and above to help me out...even after I checked out. We were in a hurry to get to the airport to catch a plane and we ran across the street (with all our luggage) to grab a quick bite. It wasn't until I got to the airport to check in I realized I didn't have my backpack and I panicked trying to remember where I left it. I called the hotel, and they check the room...and no not there. I called the cafe across the street, and they said they didn't see it. The cafe called back in about ten minutes and had found it! They wouldn't/couldn't run it across the street to the hotel. I was already at the airport. I called Hotel Zetta, and they sent someone to get it for me! We ordered a FedEx label online and they boxed it and sent it. I appreciate this so much! Just a really great vibe the entire time. Thank you!

We booked this hotel, because it appeared to be different (in a good way) and in the middle of everything. Location: However, every food place, coffee shop, bakery, and brewery we wanted to try was about 1.3-3.0 miles away, so we had to resort to Uber’s when we would have rather been able to walk to each place. It is a hotel convenient to and from the airport. Inside: The lobby is a ton a fun, cool sitting areas, a bar, pool tables, etc. The stairs are also beautifully graffitied. The room was much to be desired. A bit larger than some other San Francisco hotels I’ve stayed in, but overall fairly basic with a shower that has a whole cut out in the middle, allowing lots of water to leak through. Worth it? For the price, I’ve come across other hotels that have nicer in-room aesthetics. I would also strongly suggest staying closer to north beach for touristy attractions or farther into mission for a modern and tasty food/coffee/beer scene. For two nights it cost about $550 with the guest amenity fees (which is ridiculous, those should be built in in the first place), I would recommend this place if you’re able to pay about $200 less, but at this price it’s too much.

Hotel is located very close to Union Square. Spacious and very clean rooms. Valet parking is very expensive but information about self-parking in public parking garage was provided. Almost no VIP amenities although the Hotel is rated as VIP Hotel in Orbitz.

Excellent location - next to BART station, and Market Street.

The Zetta is a by-product of the quest for design hotel leadership without the thoughtful design. While some may appreciate the lounge and game-room atmosphere of the lobby, this property is more focused on gimmicks than delivering a good hard product. The rooms are relatively dark (and are mostly facing air shafts rather than the street), feature noisy HVAC, and, at least in the case of my room, are only marginally clean.

Wonderful Boutique Hotel! I were certainly return there next time.

This room is so small and the hotel is really old in its history but it just renew. And more important thing is the south of the hotel is really really dangerous at midnight , don't go there. Because when I went out 1:00 am, it was full of strang and homeless people over there. But overall this hotel is 3.5.

Well appointed room beautifully designed and a great common area with lots of games. Fun for all.

games in the lobby, beautifully modern room. Luxury amenities and design.

You walk in and the first thing you notice is the 2 story Plinko that rises up from the wall up to the 2nd floor balcony. Up on the balcony are more games - so it's a fun spot for kids and adults alike. Our room was on the interior, and even though it's a block from Market and Mission Streets, we could not hear a thing at night! The staff was very welcoming, and the rooms (while city-small) are very comfortable and well-equipped, well-stocked and well-lit (surprising in hotels nowadays). We would definitely go back to this hotel!

Bad view. Small room. Unclean. Poor maid service. Unmade bed no daylight bedroom do small bathroom door slams into furniture

It was a fun stay, good location, fun rooms. Modern and practical amenities like an espresso machine and free wifi, the stuff most people want. I liked it!

The room was really nice & clean! We got there at around noon, hoping to get into our room a bit early, but had to wait till 3pm - not their fault but would have nice if they had accommodated us. Parking was ridiculously expensive at the hotel & around - we spent as much in parking as the rental! Lots if public transportation options close by.

We enjoyed our stay at Hotel Zetta. It is a quiet and comfortable small hotel directly adjacent to the Westfield San Francisco Centre. It’s a nice 7 minute walk (0.3 miles) from Union Square and all the downtown activity. The street the hotel is on, 5th Street, is not a particularly fancy street so there isn’t much of a view to be had other than a building and liquor store across the street. There are 116 rooms and the property is still very new and clean since opening a little over a year ago (the result of the renovation of an older hotel). We had a room with two queen beds on the 5th floor, which was 415 square feet – a nice size compared to many other rooms in San Francisco (though the single bed rooms are smaller). The gym is located on the 4th floor and has pretty new, hi-tech equipment. You need your room key to access it. Free, new earbuds are provided to those who want to use them while working out. The valet service is convenient, though be aware that everything is taxed and what is advertised as a $50.00 a day parking fee is actually $57.00 per day due to a parking tax. The décor is modern-tech and quirky. This is definitely geared more toward a younger, hip crowd. The bathroom amenities are large bottles of shampoo, conditioner, and shower gel; nothing you can take home :( I have stayed at other 4-5 star hotels in the area that I liked better and were less expensive, but we had a good stay here and if the price were right, we would stay again. The Powell & Market Cable Car Turnaround is right around the corner, but be prepared for a long wait to get on here if you wish to ride. The line was very long every time we passed by. Also, the hotel does a pre-authorization to your credit card upon check-in, which I was not informed about so it caused some confusion once we got home and I saw a $200.00 charge pending from Hotel Zetta.

Find parking nearby cuz you'll get mugged outside.

Very cool modern flair, centrally located boutique hotel. Loved all of the artwork, having a bar on site. Definitely would stay again.

Perfect location, great bar and service. The hot water went out unfortunately the next morning so showering wasn't an option.

Comfy bed..cool modern decor..g link connection that allowed us to watch videos from iPhone on TV (Very cool!!)..no view whatsoever :-(

fantastic service at check in, clean room, great soap and shampoo and lotion, contemporary artsy design throughout fun, sparkling water machine in gym such a nice plus and excellent Italian restaurant suggestion across street.

Good morning, Thank you for your review and for choosing to stay with us. I am pleased to see that you enjoyed the design of the hotel from the artwork in the lobby, the games room upstairs and the graffiti stairwell, which is the result of a competition we ran over a five day period for top street artists where the winner won a five night stay at any Viceroy hotel in the world! I am sorry to hear that you found us too far from various restaurants etc. There are a plethora of options right around Union Square where we are located and I hope our team were able to offer some recommendations. Thank you for staying with us and I very much hope you will call upon me on your next visit to the city as I would like to make sure we can regain your confidence in us. Sincerely, Mark Beevor General Manager

Good evening, thank you for choosing to stay with us and for your feedback. I am pleased to hear that you found the rooms to be clean and spacious but I was concerned about the lack of VIP amenities. I will certainly circle back with my team on this. I hope you enjoyed your stay and were able to explore the city. Again, thank you for staying with us and I very much hope to be able to welcome you back again soon. Sincerely, Mark.
