Note, I rate all properties on a common scale, not just within a category. Surroundings do not come into play in my rating, unless the property uniquely impacts the overall landscape. Within these qualifications , this property is a 3.5, which I’m rounding to a 4. First impression walking in was a very strong smell from the wood stove that been left sit with ashes. 3 days ina d the smell still was there. So if you are sensitive, might not be your place. Overall the house was nice, although room layout was a little quirky. Upstairs is mostly slopped ceilings, no so great for adults. Second upstairs was master and I suite bath. This was very roomy. Kitchen was well equipped, gas stove/ovenThe playroom was basically the garage and was effectively a storage room, damp, smelly… not some place you’d really want to spend time. One significant ding, the upstairs had a base for a smoke detector, but detector itself was missing. Not sure about VA but would be a safety shutdown in others. One other thing to note, this place is great for a get away from it all getaway, but note you are about 30 minutes from cell service and proof of civilization End of the day, would I stay here again … no, but it depend on the type of person you are. No doubt this is a great place for the outdoors crowd.
