I was looking for a nice and comfortable accommodation and chose Hampton Inn based on the reviews and don't regret it. Next time I'm in the area I'll be back there for sure. The breakfast offered a good selection, the bed was very comfortable. Since it's by a major road, you can hear some traffic noise but was not bad enough to wake up our toddler.
We stayed here for 5 days. It's very nice. The front desk people are awesome! Very helpful and friendly. The room was good. Comfortable bed, and very clean. House keeping even put our dishes in the dishwasher for us. I didn't expect that. Over all a wonderful stay. Will definitely stay again.
By circumstance, we stayed at Rocky Mount Marriott on our way home to SC from NJ. We were very reluctant to stay here again; but were curious to see if any changes were made from our last visit when both of our cars were flooded due to poor parking lot drainage and indifferent/ incompetent general manager. We were greeted by Assistant GM, who helped us as best she could on our first trip. I remembered how kind and competent she was on our last trip and was truly happy to see her. I understand the clogged drain was dealt with and sad to hear that the GM was still in charge. That said, we were greeted and treated well by the Associate Manager. I hope this franchise recognizes Melissa Greene's professionalism and strong work ethics...I expect she will go far in the Marriott Family....and I thank her!
This place was renovated recently and has managed to keep up a very positive appearance. The staff is friendly/helpful and the accommodations are comfortable. The breakfast is pretty typical, but the evening "snack" is more typical of weekday evening meals at Homewood Suites.
the location of this Marriott is adjacent to a busy highway with truck traffic all night long, and the windows are cheap vinyl windows that do nothing to block the noise. We stay at a lot of Marriotts and this one was the noisiest ever, exceeding New York!
Stayed here a couple years ago for business, and came back again tonight. I was very impressed the remodeling they did , it was nothing short of fabulous. The rooms are spacious clean and has everything a business traveler could want/or need. The fitness room has several pieces of equipment, and the lobby area is very nice and it looks quite elegant with the chandeliers and grey modern decor. The social tonight was Baked Brie, spinach dip veggies and dip and assorted pretzels and breads, it was very good. And the two ladies who are working the social were super friendly. Also a nice touch to have Samantha, who is the director of sales and marketing, come around to check on everyone and introduce yourself. I know I'm going to get the name wrong but, Enezer (sp?) , at the front desk, was very friendly and helpful and a great representation of Marriott. As a platinum member I was very impressed with this property it would definitely highly recommend it.
This is a moderate hotel with good service, the front desk staff is awesome. The hotel offers complimentary breakfast and happy hour Mon - Wed. The hotel have s pool small exercise room and a laundry room.
I stay at Marriotts frequently for both business and pleasure. This is the third Residence Inn my family and I have checked into this week during our Christmas drive up north from Florida. This hotel is not what we have come to expect from Marriott. We requested a top floor room, in a quiet area. We were placed in the middle of the hall on the middle floor. The room smelled strongly of air freshener when we arrived, not sure what it was covering up. There were a few black flies buzzing around the room. We were looking forward to relaxing after driving 10 hours from MA. We sat down to watch a college basketball game on ESPN. However, the channel did not work. We called the front desk, and were put on hold for a few minutes. Finally someone picked up. We were told that they were having trouble with their carrier, and only a few rooms got ESPN. I told her we have two rooms, and neither one gets ESPN. She told me she had no ide which rooms had ESPN, but she thought only two rooms in the whole hotel received ESPN. However, we were welcome to watch it in the lobby if nobody was watching the tv! Overall, this hotel just doesn't meet the Marriott standards we have become accustomed to. The walls are thin, the heat system is extremely loud, the tv reception is weak or non-existent. If we decide to stop in NC on our drive between Florida and NC again, we definitely will not stay at this hotel.
My roomy studio suite had a nice layout with a kitchen (full fridge, dishes, silverware, glasses), dishwasher and a sitting area with a comfy sectional and gas fireplace. The suite was clean and the bed was comfy. I liked the sofa table with the outlets built in...good place to charge your phone. The hotel was tucked back away from the roads and the roads aren't that busy so it was nice a quiet. There were a few restaurants within walking distance (I didn't take advantage of that though). I couldn't give 5 stars because the gas fireplace didn't work and the TV reception was horrible. These were minor issues for my stay.
I am a platinum member so I have been to dare I say hundreds of Marriotts. This Residence Inn offered a nice breakfast buffet ( slightly dirty) and a nice manager happy hour. But then the room. My reservation was for a one bedroom suite. First room the toilet and phone were broken. We then we're downgraded to a studio in need of refurbishing. Closet mirrors are ready to fall off, furniture very scratched, stopper not working in sink. The bed linens were wrinkled and no comforter. I did sleep well then left bright and early .
