$170.00, plus tax. If you want to pay that for a frayed rug, a serious tripping hazard, and a couch with a disgusting red stain, go for it. I don't care if my company is paying for this, I can't justify it. Marriott, really? Nice patchwork ceiling, as well. I was thinking of extending, but no way.
We were traveling from Florida north and stopped in Rocky Mount. We first walked into the Comfort Inn. We were treated so rudely by the front desk clerk we walked out and went to the Marriott next door. We were greeted by Amanda who had a smiling face and pleasant personality! The room was quite large with a kitchen sitting area and even an electric fireplace. The bed was very comfortable and the shower was great! You could comfortably stay for a week. Breakfast was very good and the desk clerks in the morning were also pleasant. There are two steak houses right nearby. This will be our stop from now on.
One night stay on way home from Florida. Staff was friendly and courteous. Property needs updating. But over all it was ok for what we needed. Would stay again. Because staff was friendly and helpful. Not a lot of folks staying at hotel. Guess it was just a quiet time of year gor the area
We enjoyed our overnight stay with our 2 small dogs. It was a $40 upcharge For the pets. I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because the toilet had a few hairs left behind. I expect pristine cleanliness from a Marriott. The hotel needs a bit of fresh paint as well. The breakfast was good and included in price. If I have my pets with me it’s a good place to stay. If I don’t have my pets, I will stay elsewhere.
Twice, over a 10 day period, I stayed at this hotel. Each time, I was moved into another room because of maintenance issues that could not be corrected by the staff on duty. The first time was a plugged water inflow problem with the toilet that prevented the toilet from refilling. The second was a TV that would not work properly. In addition, every plumbing fixture - sink faucet, bathtub spout, and toilet flush handle - was loose or pulling away from the fixture. The staff were pleasant and tried to help but this place needs MAINTENANCE badly.
This is primarily a short but positive shout out about the quality experience we had with the staff and, especially, the General Manager who solved a problem we encountered regarding our suite with outstanding professionalism. What started off as quite challenging due to a RI routine maintenance glitch was resolved responsibly and with generous outcome. Our 101 year old mother thoroughly enjoyed her stay, and we all will look forward to visiting a Residence Inn in the future. Thank you!
We are traveling south to FL and needed a place to stop for the night with our 2 dogs. The Residence came up as dog friendly. $44.00 charge for 2 dogs. Room was nice and clean. Buffet breakfast included. I would definitely stop again!
On our first driving trip to Florida from the Philly area we needed a hotel that took dogs. 6 hours into our trip we called Marriott reservations and were able to secure one night at a reasonable rate with a $40 add on charge for a dog. The hotel was a little tattered but the room was clean, their dog check in process seamless and we were able to quickly catch a few hours sleep. Amanda was great at check in and made us feel welcome. On our way home we will be staying there again
Typical Residence Inn, only one TV which pivots between the bed and living area. Not a true suite, and you cannot bring guests in separately from the sleeping area. Bathroom needed renovation. The spout of the tub was disconnected from the wall, and the shower head as well. The toilet didn't flush unless you held it the whole time and the noise coming from the vent system would not let a normal person sleep. Exercise room was OK, breakfast is typical of Marriot which is weaker than similarly priced chains. Outdoor pool only.
This was our first trip with our two Yorkies. When we had one, we have stayed at dog-friendly hotels. Problem was, they were not owner-friendly. I have a keen sense of smell. The corridor reserved for animals had no odor, no perfumed fragrance attempting to cover up the tell-tale residual pet odor. You put a metal magnet on your door to alert staff. I don’t know what happens if you stay more than one day. The room smelled clean, period. There is an explansive area on the service road where there are other hotels, perfect for walking your doggies. The grass is neatly trimmed and the entire road is exceedingly well lit. Note that the fee for up to two dogs is $40.00. Odd number rooms do not face the highway, even numbers do. Our friends stayed in an even numbered room and there sleeping experience was different than ours. From 5-7pm there is a wonderful buffet, that day hamburgers and toppings, fruit, and cole slaw and pasta salad were on the menu. The buffet room is decorated in a modern style, with wonderful groupings of tables, a wine and cheese seating nook (yes there is red and white wine and beer aside from water and soft drinks, all gratis.} If this is not your choice, just walk up the service road to Outback or order take out. There is a Cracker Barrel within five minutes from the hotel. Take your wine outside on the patio adjacent to outdoor pool. That area features a fire pit and barbecue. The breakfast offering included real eggs, sausages, bagels, English muffins and toast, waffles, oatmeal with cranberries, sliced almonds, coconut, walnuts and fruit. You can make your own granola or add it to yogurt. When did you ever see Brie cheese on a breakfast bar? Impressive. There are TVs scattered throughout. The service staff is very accommodating. After asking, I found out that the Mariott Courtyard, behind the Mariott Residence has a Starbucks in it, open from 6:30 am to.9:30 pm. Note if you are looking for anything made with whole milk or half and half you are out of luck, but the food assortment is good. The room is more like an apartment. You could cook there. It has been updated with new appliances, wonderful photo art, new counters with under mount sinks, Friends who showered said the water pressure was not satisfactory. The couches accommodate many people in the suite, a table for two, and the lighting is unconventional. There are many outlets for recharging phones and computers. The TV swivels, so you can watch it in bed or in the living room. Our friends room had less of an open concept. For some reason (ours happened to be for hearing impaired, which we are not ), and it had a phone in the bathroom. Would have preferred the bed area would not be open to the sink area in the bathroom, but the shower and toilet are behind a door. There is ample closet space and the bed was exceedingly comfortable. Although there were some soccer teams staying there, it was quiet. A hop off of 95. We met friends there. It was great for socializinng.
