Incredibly helpful staff! Wonderful stay! The woman who ran the breakfast bar was very kind and helped us with directions to Southern Pines. This will always be my place to stay in Laurinburg!!! I give it my highest rating!
It's the nicest hotel in Laurinburg, but it is in need of updates and repairs. The first room they assigned to me had a broken bolt on the door. Breakfast was actually pretty nice. Lobby is nice, but rooms are dated.
My wife and I stopped at this hotel for a night while we were travelling to Sunset Beach, NC. The room was very big and for the most part clean. The only problem that we had was the dirt and items on the floor behind the bathroom door. Would stay here again for a night if we were in the area and in the need for a room.
Pros: - The service - both at the front desk and at the breakfast area - was excellent. - Relatively quiet - even with a full house - a family reunion and military personnel (we were on the top - third - floor. We were in a room with an adjoining door, which we kept shut, and we heard the neighbor's TV for a while, but nothing offensive. - Clean pool - Waffles (although the timer only sometimes worked). Cons: - The building is about 30 years old, and the documents, furniture, and light fixtures show it. While everything in the room was clean, you had to play with the light fixtures to turn them on and off. There is no fan in the bathroom, so it gets hot fast. And the showerhead had very little pressure. I had to sign a document that stated that I would be charged $1 for USA Today and $1 for something else. When I asked about them, I was told I wouldn't be charged as the don't offer either of those services. That document needs to be updated. - Huge "mini" fridge.
We were in Laurinburg for a family wedding recently and stayed at this Comfort Inn. The only cons I saw was the hallways smelled a little like smoke and there could have been more shade at the pool, especially during the hot summer. Other than that, this was a great place to stay. Beds & pillows were quite comfy, bathrooms were clean, plenty of towels. The breakfast was very similar to what is offered at other hotels. I will say what made our stay so wonderful was the staff. The front desk staff could not have been nicer or more accommodating. And five starts to Diane who tended to the cafe/breakfast area. So friendly and incredibly accommodating. Will definitely stay here again when we come back to visit.
This hotel was okay. The bed and pillows were comfortable. Some aspects of the cleaning were not so great. There was a random hair in one of the drawers. The jetted tub had a plastic shield along the outside that seemed to have fallen a bit and there was a layer of dirt (?) that was bad enough that I felt I needed to clean it. In addition, the toilet was like a ... toddler toilet. I'm short, but upon sitting my knees were nearly at my chin. This meant that the water was within about an inch of ... well ... things it shouldn't have even come close to. The same went for my husband - again ... enough said. I don't eat breakfast, but he said the food was good. We had had a long drive the day before. Imagine our surprise when housekeep woke us up at about 8:AM to clean our room. No, we hadn't used our "do not disturb", but we never imagined ... The staff was friendly, but seemed to lack knowledge of local events. Specifically, many guests were there for a little league championship event. We had time and wanted to go - no one knew where it was located but they guessed. We followed their directions. However, upon checking my phone, we realized there was an entire field of about 10 baseball / softball diamonds within about 5 miles of the inn. No one there knew. Oh, one more thing. Some of the little league players were young and got a bit loud. Although we did not complain, someone else must have. The next morning at the desk I heard two women talking and one had gone up and resolved the situation. KUDOS to them for that.
This is not a hotel located in a city like Raleigh...it is a small town hotel and I will review it as such. I was very happy with the comfortable bed, bedding and more importantly, the pillows!! (Firm or fluffy choices on both sides of the bed) The room was spacious and clean. The bathroom was sufficient with a large counter top...I always appreciate extra space with all the accessories I travel with! Nice staff, 24 hour lemon water and coffee...refrigerator and microwave. My only complaint was our room did not have the privacy lock on the inside main door, an easy fix, hopefully will be addressed.
Needed a place to stay to break up a road trip and this got the best reviews in Laurinburg. I am a pretty snooty hotel stayer but I was pleasantly surprised with the wonderful bed very clean crisp linens. We slept in and did not make it to breakfast. The room had a safe, an iron, a hairdryer, a microwave, a refrigerator and an air-conditioner in great working order. I would say this is a place I would love to give a solid 4 1/2 stars just because there were a few hairs in the bathroom and that is my pet peeve. It's not super fancy but definitely a great deal for the fabulous price of right at $100 with taxes and fees and a AAA discount. I can't do 4.5 stars so I am doing 5, don't want to take down their best rating:). Definitely stay here again and staff was super friendly.
We recently stayed here in order to get a head start to our final destination. The hotel is located in a quiet area. The room was very clean and everything appeared to be in good condition. We did not eat the breakfast, but got some beverages to take back to the room before departing for the day. The breakfast area was especially clean and well stocked. The breakfast items looked fresh and were average for this type of hotel. The staff were extremely friendly during check in and out. The only negative I could say is the water saver shower heads might have reduced water flow beyond what is reasonably acceptable. I would definitely return again should I be in the area and need a place to stay for the night.
The place was clean, the beds were very comfortable and the help was friendly. Appreciate the pillow selection that they offer - it's nice to be able to choose between soft and firm. It was a great place to crash for a couple of days while visiting family in the area.
