Drove an hour and a half to there and found out that despite the description saying there was onsite parking and valet - neither were available. My child and I had to find parking several blocks away and walk in the dark carrying all of our stuff to the room. There was some kind of dance event so there were a lot of noisy kids. The walls are very thin. I heard lots of noise in the halls, people going in and out of rooms. A few times I woke up thinking someone was trying to get into our room. I woke up to coughing in another room. The heating and air system doesn’t seem to be adjustable. The tub faucet dripped the whole time. The room was quite dated and overall the hotel needs updates. There is no counter space in the bathroom - to the point where the hotel Kleenex lives on the desk because there is no space for it in the bathroom. So getting ready is a challenge. Our room seamed to be above a kitchen or something because most of our stay, the room smelled strongly of bacon and cooking in general. I feel like the value was not there for what I paid. I would NOT have booked this hotel if I would have known there was not parking on site. This feels like false advertising.

It’s hard to beat the Kahler. It is so close to Mayo and many restaurants, as well as some shopping.

The room was good, valet service was convenient, staff were great. It was very accessible to the Mayo buildings, which is why we chose it. I gave it 4 stars because on our first night there was less than 1/10th of a tissue roll in the bathroom, so we had to call. The next morning, I went to take a shower and the body wash bottle was completely empty. Seems like housekeeping did not replenish the basics enough for one nights stay. Other than that, it was good.

The location is perfect if you have appointments at the Mayo Clinic. They have a ramp to park in right next to the hotel after you check in. They have an underground walk way to the clinics so you don’t have to go out into the cold. The room was clean, the bathroom was small and the bed was slightly hard but I did sleep well on it!
