Three stars is a push for this hotel. The place is not well kept and the rooms were not up to par. The furniture even had odors and the carpet is worn. We check in late afternoon and staff on duty were not very Helpful. We get to the room and both trash cans are overflowing in the suite and not a pretty picture. Yes, disappointment, but no one seemed to care. The good. Breakfast was great and the day staff was friendly, eventhough they were folding laundry at the desk for the hotel. Oh Well
Stayed at the Towne Place Suites for a family reunion. Rooms were definitely worn, clean but worn. The Suites advertised that it holds four people in a King Suite which is not completely accurate. The sofa sleeper "might" be a full size bed OK for two little children, not teenagers. We had to get a roll a way which was provided at no cost. Both the sofa bed and roll away were WAY below par on quality, I actually felt awful subjecting my Daughters to it. Complimentary breakfast was fine. Pool area for the kids was good. This hotel is what it is, a $100 night suite, nothing fancy. On one other note the location is good with a short walk to Target and some other shops and restaurants.
This hotel is 14 miles from I-90 and a bit hard to locate. Alot of these Towneplace Suites seem to be showing their age so we are going to steer clear of this line till Marriott gets them up to standard. Kudos go to the staff though for working ard to please. Thanks
I was very impressed by this hotel. The water park was great for kids under 10. It was clean and the water temperature was perfect. The fitness center was fine. It was extremely hot and the equipment could have used some cleaning but it served it's purpose. Breakfast was great for the crowd we had. There was something for everyone-a good variety of hot food, cold food and it was constantly being restocked. The rooms were clean and very large. We had 2 identical rooms next to each other for our family of 8 with a king bed in a bedroom and a pull out couch in the other & a small kitchen. A roll away bed fit very nicely in the kitchen area. I highly recommend this hotel as the price was less than $100 per night. My only real complaint is this.....we did not bring our beloved, little white fluffy canine family member because they charge $100 per pet! That is an outrageous price so he just stayed home with Grandma instead. The hotel was seriously FULL of pets. I am not even exaggerating, there were at least 16 different dogs that we saw (most of them were huge and several were quite loudly barking) and they all paid $100?!?!?!? We've brought our little guy all over the country, he's stayed in ritzy hotels in D.C., Time Square, California, etc. and we paid less than that for him and sometimes only a deposit that was returned. He doesn't shed, hypoallergenic, doesn't have accidents, doesn't make noise and to pay $100 for him to stay at a hotel in Rochester, MN is ridiculous. End rant. So, since we take Jasper with us almost everywhere we go, we won't be returning here because I can't justify paying $100 to bring him along.
My daughter had a dance competition in Rochester and the director of her team selected this hotel for the group but we were so glad! I hadn't stayed in an extended stay place before so wasn't prepared for the amenities - including full kitchen with dishes and everything. There was a nice desk that would have been great if I had work to get done. It was also nice to have a TV in the living area and the bedroom so there was no competing over what to watch! The only downside was the couch was small and even though there was room for us to have some friends hang out there was no place for visitors to sit.
The hotel was great and the stay was great. The hotel offers a big breakfast and plenty of food to choose from. We stayed in a one king bedroom suite. It was spacious with plenty of room for an extra rollaway bed.
I was having a procedure done at the Mayo clinic, and we chose this hotel because it offered a discount to Mayo patients, plus had an awesome pool area for my 6 year old daughter. We were very happy with our stays. The suites are arranged very nicely, hotel was clean, pool was fantastic fun, breakfast was amazing, and the staff was super friendly. It is a little ways out from Mayo, but with shuttles running constantly back and forth, that is not a big deal. They are in the middle of doing some remodeling, so there were a few minor cosmetic things, but nothing to worry about. For the price we paid, we were extremely happy with our stay and will be back again.
We traveled to Rochester for a birthday party at this hotel. We stayed the night... our kids do loved the pool area. The rooms are spacious and affordable. We liked the fact that there is a kitchenette and separate bedrooms. Breakfast had lots of options.
On first glance when entering the room it seemed like a typical Towneplace. For dinner we decided to get food at a grocery store and eat in. When we got back with our food we realized there was no silverware and no wine glasses in the kitchen. We asked about it at the front desk and they assured us there was silverware in the room. There was not. We ate dinner with plastic ware and drank wine from coffee cups. In the bathroom there was no lotion, which I don't usually travel with lotion because I am fine with the lotion typically found in hotels. When I tried to use the hairdryer it had a tight coil type cord which restricted the ability to move over to the mirror area. It's difficult to style my hair when I can't see in the mirror. I don't know if the problem was the hairdryer or the mirror. The mirror was not over the sink. It was off kilter to the left. The storage system in the closet was great but we were only there for one night so didn't really take advantage of the one really nice feature of the room. The breakfast offerings were typical and good. However, since we were the only ones in the dining area at the time, I changed the TV to Fox News (I know, dicey move in MN) and while the volume was turned up to 56, there was no sound. I toggled back and forth between several stations and all had sound except FNC. So we watched MeTV. I like Townplace Suites as a rule but this one was marginal at best.
I checked into the TownePlace Suites for 3 nights. I had just left another hotel in the area because it was filthy. The TownePlace is so nice and clean. The 2 bedroom suite I have is clean, large enough to be comfortable, kitchen is fully equipped. The free breakfast is great. They have a pool area for smaller children and one for adults and teens with a water slide. The staff are very friendly. It is right off HYW 52 on the NW side of Rochester. I would stay here again in a heartbeat!
