Have stayed many times in past 10 years. Wasn’t aware of renovation in progress which made navigating hallways dirty and difficult.

The building is very old, almost 100 years. Unless your are staying in a upgraded room or a continental room, the place is a dump. Very disappointing.

Bed and location great. People good, property horribly outdated.

very close to Mayo. Construction is one thing, polluting the air with toxic levels of fumes from lacquer, epoxy, paint etc and working literally on the outside of our room at 7AM Is unacceptable, be prepared for room changes in the middle of your stay due to reasons like this as the hotel tries to squeeze every last bit of profit by rooming guests in unsafe conditions, ignoring the fact that many people who come here are ill, older, and actual guests of Mayo. The clinic has different standard than this and should distance themselves from the Kahler or demand a different approach at once before any additional guests suffer unsafe conditions. Truly unacceptable , and we are a younger family with not very serious health conditions. Again because 2X is not enough, UNACCEPTABLE! Pay the extra for the Hilton or other alternative. BTW our room was changed to a shower without a fixed sprayer. Only a hose hanging to the floor without a way to prop it up. Rooms extremely dirty and dusty. Walls so thin you can hear the faucets from the room next door, toilets flushing, TVs on, people talking. You might as well “share” the rooms with the neighboring guests.

Out dated rooms only had one washcloth in bathroom and one roll of toilet paper with very little on it

It was very close to where I needed to be, staff was excellent, but it's a bit, um, rustic.

Property is under construction that we didn’t know about until we arrived. Working on boilers so water was cold for showers, dust everywhere, when we asked the staff if their was anything they could do we got no I’m sorry from the 20ish manager and check in staff. At $200 per night I would find somewhere else. Very disappointed

The room was small, the carpets were filthy, we had to partial rolls of toilet tissue, no spare rolls, and the rooms smell!

The carpet was dirty, beds misshapen and the room small. Staff were unhelpful. Will never stay at this hotel again.

The hotel is maintained well and my room was very clean. The place is very quiet. It was enjoyable.

Extremely convenient to Mayo Clinic. Very quiet. The room was not well cleaned. Toiletries were not replaced. One of the two beds was uncomfortable and not well attached to the frame.

Dirty rooms. Had to switch 4 times to find a room or hallway not filled with used bandaids on the floor, used q-tips on the floor, used tissues, pieces of food, and other unknown substances smeared on various surfaces from nightstands to telephones. Disgusting. Smells, odors of who knows what. Air conditioning that barely worked. Unvacuumed floors regardless of how many times you requested vacuuming. Getting double charged for one night of our stay and at two separate prices. Mayo staff said they’d heard from many patients of the dirty conditions of the Kahler Grand. A shame as it was once a nice hotel. No longer.

The ability to walk to and from the Civic center and Mayo Hospital without having to go outside. The bed was hard as a rock.

Very satisfied and met my needs. Convenient location as well.

What was once a grand hotel is now much in need of renovation. Little soundproofing between rooms, patched ceilings. And everything is extra, breakfast is extra, parking, yes parking is extra.

Nothing special about this place. The room was old and needed updating, along with most of the hotel.
