I loved all of the staff and the new room design on the fifth floor was great. I loved all of the outlets in the room. Renovation is going on in the hotel, but I was unaware of it during our stay, just saw the "Bears" all around the lobby

I stayed here overnight and it was very apparent they are renovating from signs posted and black plastic over the 4th floor windows which were apparent from outside. I was on the 3rd floor in a room with two doubles. The room was okay but definitely needed updating. I was told they are going floor by floor starting on the 5th floor so they have a long way to go. The shower was interesting as the drain was super slow to drain and the handle and spout pulled out of the way when I turned it on. Water pressure was good. The breakfast was pretty awful with dry powdered eggs and cardboard like pancakes it was not appealing. I will give kudos for the coffee and various flavor coffee creamers they offered. The bar had a very limited beer selection and only one person working so the wait was dreadfully long. I honestly would not choose to stay at another location in the future.

Hotel is convenient to various attractions in the area. Hotel is undergoing construction but it did not cause any problems other than no vending on the 5th floor yet. Rooms are nice and spacious. Lounge area was good size and crowded while I was there. I had to leave early Saturday morning for a business meeting and the continental breakfast had not started yet. My only recommendation would be to start the breakfast sooner than 7:30 on weekends (I may be wrong on the time but I think it was 7:30). I had to leave about 6:45 am so I was not able to take advantage of breakfast and had to go to a drive-thru to get something. Staff was professional. Would stay here again.

I had used Expedia.com to book a room for just a few hours sleep. When I arrived at the hotel at 2:30AM, the front desk person told me there were not rooms available. I was able to book at the Quality Inn down the street. When I called Expedia to make sure I was not charged for a hotel room at the Holiday Inn, the Expedia customer service line tried to get a refund of my money. The hotel refused- even the manager. I had to pay for a room that was not even available. This will not be some where I will ever try to stay again. Please be aware.

Went to roanoke for a funeral of a family member. When we travel we like to stay at Holiday Inns. This one was a let down. To start, half of the time the key card would not work. Cable was off and on and when it did work the sound was delayed from the movie. You new what was said before they moved their lips. Internet was messed up. And then there was the construction noise from the floor above us at 8:30 am (all day) sounded like they were coming through the ceiling. All of this was told to 3 different front desk clerk and not one of them seem to care. We were told by all 3 remodling was taking place above us but did nothing. The excuse of tv and internet was A Wind Storm 4 days prior. Oh and the TV guide was a month old. When ask for an update one they said they did not have the updated one. Family members brought us one from a different hotel. But again did us not much good since the cable didint work. On the good side... restaurant was nice and service there was super.

I came in for an association event and banquet. Friendly, helpful check in. Many luggage carriers for guest usage available. Although a little difficult to push and turn on carpet they were longer than many hotels have which was great. My room looked great. I quickly unpacked and went to dinner. Upon coming back while I was turning on lights...I stepped into a saturated carpet in front of the nightstand. When I went to call the desk, neither phone worked. I called the desk from my cell phone. Desk personnel were very helpful and great! They offered to transfer me to another room, they sent a new room key up with the maintence man who both inspected the water problem AND offered to transfer me to another room (he had brought a luggage carrier up with him). My new room was fine! Bed and pillows were comfortable. Plenty of towels. The room was clean and spacious. This was a great experience on how a hotel should handle issues that come up! They were wonderful and I totally recommend this hotel.

While traveling, we needed a place to stay last minute. Found the hotel online, it had rooms, so we gave it a try. Staff was helpful, they accepted AARP and the restaurant was open until 10pm (Friday night). The hotel is close to dining and gas stations. It was not a perfect place as it is going through a multi-million dollar renovation, starting at the top floor and working its way down. It is expected to be complete early next year. If this is a concern, call ahead for an update.

I had visited twice this month for two different reasons and had two different experiences. Check in both times was professional and expedient. I had the same room on the fourth floor. It was ready and clean. The ladies who clean were pleasant and brought extra coffee. The first visit it was cool and the second was hotter and humid. The pool appeared very cloudy so no swimming. No problems with the bill. I would stay again. Clean place.

The location is only about two miles off I-81, and near a number of restaurants when you're looking for dinner. Bed was comfortable and I appreciated the in-room Keurig for coffee. We had the breakfast buffet included and it was plentiful, hot & tasty. However, the hotel is undergoing renovations and it needs it. Some rust in the bathroom, dirty ceiling tiles and holes in the sheet. Just tired and needs a facelift. Our first floor room had a large window overlooking the atrium, which had to be kept closed for privacy and made the room dark. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Stayed for event held at hotel on Sat. night. Very safe area and hotel has all you'd wish for. Indoor/outdoor pool, hot tub and great breakfast buffet. Staff was very friendly. Our King room on 3rd floor was perfectly sized with comfortable bed and up to date decor. Really liked the Keurig Brewer in room--nice touch. Wish holiday inn would include the breakfast buffet in price but that's ok--the quality of it was very good and liked that it's open until 10:30 am.
