We arrived on Wednesday evening and left on Thursday. There were several utility trucks in the parking lot and workers had come to Roanoke to repair utility lines that came down during a storm the week before. That being said, there were not many people staying in the hotel overall. The restaurant at 7 p.m. just had a few booked tables. Our room was very clean as was the bathroom. Everything worked well enough. We had asked for a quiet room not too near the elevator. This is exactly what we got. The staff at the hotel were courteous and informative when we asked for directions the next morning. Oddly enough, the pool is located directly behind the restaurant in the lobby. It is visible to the kitchen staff working at the restaurant, but not to those eating. My sister used the pool. It was a little too cool but the hot tub was nice. They have a small exercise room as well. No one was using it. The equipment look to be in good working order.

I stay here when at the office. Always great service, the evening waitress knows what I eat without me ordering. Convenient, clean, great for business travel. The restaurant breakfast is a good way to start each day.

I was here on business for the week. Easy to find and park near the airport in Roanoke Va. Courteous front desk service. This hotel appears to be a hotel and conference center that they decided to enclose the space between the buildings and make their grand entrance. Clever architectural design with open beams and natural lighting is quite nice. The pool is indoors, but right behind the bar and dining court. No attached restaurant, but there are plenty to choose from nearby. The 4th floor smelled of stale smoke by the elevator, but faded down the hall at my room. Rooms are comfy and typical of Holiday Inn. Good wifi signal. Breakfast bar in the mornings - meh. Bagels and scrambled eggs and other typical buffet offerings. One my second through fourth days the 4th floor WREAKED of marijuana. I don't know how I didn't get completely stoned or witness a police raid. I literally stuffed a towel under my door and blasted the AC to clear the odor. Seriously, the staff had to notice - how could you not? Probably won't come back.

My boyfriend and I always stay at HI for his work when he travels. This one's pool and hot tub is incredible! There's a nice restaurant and bar as soon as you walk in, and behind that is a massive pool that is a swim thru to the outdoor pool. The hot tub is large and amazing and never crowded. My only complaint is that the beds are a little uncomfortable. Ask for a room with a view of the indoor pool!

While visiting the Roanoke area recently I stayed at this older Holiday Inn due to its location which was close to the airport, several restaurants, and the interstate. The staff were friendly. My king executive room and the bathroom had plenty of space. The room furnishings showed minor wear and tear. My bed was comfortable. My bed linens were fresh. Other than the dust in the corners on the carpet, my room was clean. The common areas showed some minor wear and tear especially on the carpets and the elevators. The menu in the restaurant was the standard Holiday Inn menu that included a limited variety at reasonable prices and the food was OK. The breakfast buffet was not inviting so I ordered from the menu every morning. Service was quick, attentive, and friendly. On Presidents' Day cherry pie was advertised to be available for desert, but there was none. There was a party in one of the conference rooms one evening that went on past 10 PM - it was very loud and annoying. Late at night during two other nights some folks were extremely loud in the hallway and were not considerate of those guests who were sleeping.

We stay at this location many times throughout the year. This hotel is well run. Consistently we see the General Manager connecting with all employees and ensuring guests receive 5 star service. I love the layout to include the bar and pool. Rooms are ALWAYS clean and neat. Beds are very comfortable. Main areas are always clean and neat.

For the low price (we got AAA rate of $93!!), this Holiday Inn exceeded all expectations. Both kid and dog-friendly. The indoor pool and hot-tub are fantastic. Comfy beds. Great breakfast, all the little things were thought of--newspaper and coffee in lobby. A bit of a drive to downtown Roanoke, but that was ok for us.

Not one of the newly renovated, modern Holiday Inns, but that doesn't hurt this hotel's charm. It has a central canopied bar/lounge area that i have not seen at any Holiday Inn property before. It is accented with red brick, and comfortable furniture to really set a nice atmosphere. The rooms are clean, and smell fresh. I could really not find anything that displeased me. Overall, a great value for the money!

I chose this hotel for the location as it was close to a Blue Ridge Parkway entrance. Our room was nice with a comfortable bed and a nice bathroom. It's on a major road, so it was a little noisy, but not really bad. The breakfast was extra and not worth the money. There are plenty of restaurants in the area to grab a breakfast.

My husband, best friend and I went to view the fall colors and choose this hotel. The location was good, rooms were clean and roomy though the beds were small. There is also a bar / restaurant on property. The breakfast buffet ($10.95) was pretty bad. None of us ordered from the food menu at night, just cocktails that were average. Service by the wait was terrible but the bartender stepped in and saved the day. Over all a decent experience for one night.
