Spacious, well appointed rooms in a downtown setting. Walking distance to a cool brew pub with great food. Great bed and linens that were soooo fresh. Beautiful bathroom with the only distraction being poor water pressure. That was a downer for sure. The complimentary upgrade of my room at check in took the sting off that though.

Nice hotel in business district. Was Sunday and everything was closed. Maybe during the week it might be better. We only stayed one night.

Renovated last year, the hotel is very nicely appointed - some of the hallway walls are painted with "graffiti-looking" murals, but the rooms are calm and serene. From our arrival, a very gracious and speedy valet, through check in and departure, all went very well. We'd be pleased to return.

Great location across street from Capitol and park

This hotel is a must stay. From welcoming check-in, a refreshing night cap at the bar, one of the best night’s sleep on comfy beds, beautiful roomy accommodations and delicious breakfast at the hotel’s restaurant, Rueger’s. Thank you to Rose, James and Roger you made our one night stay welcoming and enjoyable. We look forward to returning to the Commonwealth Hotel and spending time exploring Richmond in the near future.

Great hotel- friendly staff, huge suites, newly renovated.

Really nice hotel. Brand new rooms.Ours was huge. Peculiar small elevators. Located in a business/government district, but were able to walk to an nice dinner

Great spacious, modern rooms. Excellent location close to major thoroughfares, access to bars & restaurants downtown. Easy to get around via Uber/Lyft.

I'll give this a lower revision on Orbitz than on another site, because the chief problem here was their failure to honor the terms of the Orbitz reservation: the room we got had nothing to do with what I'd booked and was much worse for us, and they explained the gap by the fact that we'd used a "third-party provider." The room we got was huge, cavernous, and, for the size, under furnished, with one queen bed tucked against a back wall and empty space that one could have played whiffle ball in; the crummy foldout couch (instead of the second queen we'd reserved) was in the smaller living area, which was against the very noisy elevator shaft. The bedroom was impossible to make dark because of an unblockable space atop the curtains. The elevator is the smallest I can ever remember seeing anywhere. The valet and morning front desk people were wonderfully friendly, and the location is very convenient. But the Orbitz reservation was a fiction. What you see (online) is not what you get, or wasn't in our case.

The staff was friendly and let us in a little early to get ready for a wedding. The room was nice. The area is nice, and right across the street from the capital building.
