It is a very beautiful hotel, and the rooms have all been modernized. I loved the decor and that each room has a "name." It felt very regal to stay there. The staff was super helpful and friendly, especially the valet service. There are a lot of sightseeing things to do nearby and restaurants as well. This section of town is somewhat hilly, and the sidewalks are a bit torn up, so be prepared with a cane or walking stick if you have difficulties walking. Also, ride share and taxis nearby to take you to other parts of town if you don't have a car with you.

I have an oversized truck which will not fit in a parking garage so I called ahead of booking a room to discuss, as well as spoke to the front desk about parking. Never once was valet parking charge mentioned until I got my bill. Requested a call from the manager. It’s weeks later and still haven’t received a call. Otherwise the room was very spacious and clean.

Should have, would have, but didn’t go elsewhere.

When I arrived at the hotel (super early). The room wasn’t ready so I headed out to work. When I came back around 4:30 the room was ready. Once I entered the room it smelled musty. They did not prep the room with the AC on. The filters were dirty( I pulled them out to see) and my co-worker was sneezing all night. I asked them to please clean the bathroom because there was loose hair all around the floor. The cleaner came in and changed the towels only and never mopped the floor. The hotel was EMPTY! And on our second day was the same. Towels changed, floor remained dirty. So I took a small towel soaked in hot water and cleaned the bathroom floor. On our 4th day, we took the elevator up to what we thought was our floor (7th fl not 9th.) We were thrilled when we walked into the room not knowing we were on the wrong floor. The cleaning crew was still there doing final touches. Once we walked in, we noticed the beds were not the same and advised the cleaning person we were in the wrong room. That room was spotless, smelled fresh etc. She was mopping the floor as we were entering. But now that we knew it was the wrong room, we were thrilled that they finally cleaned up our room very well. NOT AT ALL!. It was still dirty and all they did was change the towels and did not through out the trash, straighten out the couch etc. It was really a horrible experience. I would NOT recommend this hotel at all. The front desk was ok.

We were disappointed with The Commonwealth. It is very expensive but it seemed understaffed. Our room was never cleaned. The toilet did not work well. The shower was a trickle and then dripped all night after we turned it off. The second night, the room smelled like cigarette smoke even though there was no sign of cigarettes. The suite itself was very nice except the charging station didn't work on one side of the bed and the other side didn't have any outlet. Valet service took 30 minutes to bring the car. The breakfast service was also slow. The location is nice but overall for the high price we were very dissatisfied and don't plan to stay there again.

The pillows were super uncomfortable. Like they did not have any life left in them. Additionally, valet brought our car back with a totally flat tire (drove it on the rim with the warning lights on in the car). The tire had a 4 inch nail in it. Then the hotel proceeds to charge us for the valet service while we are calling a tow truck and left paying for a brand new tire. What we were charged for the stay did not match what was listed on the pay at the hotel rate either.
