The property sets back some distance from the highway. This makes it difficult to see from the road. On the upside, it makes for a quiet night of sleep. Some temporary fencing of rebar and rope along with a portable storage container made navigating the parking lot a challenge. The staff was friendly and helpful. Our room was clean and spacious. As with most rooms we encounter on the road, the lighting is inadequate for reading a newspaper or book. The indoor pool and hot tub were clean and well maintained. However, their capacity is limited. Breakfast was the usual Holiday Inn fair of hot and cold items and their delicious cinnamon rolls. We would stay here again.
We stayed in a suite room which was very spacious and clean. At breakfast they had a very nice selection of hot & cold items. They have a small indoor pool and gym with a treadmill, elliptical machine and bike. Would definitely stay again
I stayed at this hotel last year and was completely satisfied. It was very clean, the staff was very courteous, and the grounds were very well taken care of. This year I was surprised when I pulled in. There are weeds all in the landscaping and the place looked very run down. The desk staff was still courteous and friendly. My room smelled strongly like a carpet deodorizer. Since I am sensitive to chemicals and odors, I woke up with a horrendous headache. Other than the odor, room was clean. Breakfast was not bad. They serve the usual hotel fare. Check in and out was quick and easy. Next year I will check into a different hotel. This place needs some TLC to get back on track.
A couple of things were not working. The receiver cord kept falling out of the phone. I had to use my cell phone when we needed to alert the front desk that someone who was not a hotel guest woke us up as he repeatedly knocked on our door at 1:30 AM. Also the drain stopper in the tub wouldn't stay open while taking a shower. Then after the uninvited visitor went away, we finally doze off at 3 pm only to have someone above us start stomping around at 4 am! Breakfast is only served until 9:30 am so we missed that - why can't it go until 10 AM especially in the summer when people are not in a rush to get up early? Not a pleasant stay!
great place to stay and affordable! super, comfy beds and peace and quiet await your stay! this hotel should be rated higher than it is!!!!!! It offers a hot breakfast with a huge variety of food, not just a cold bagel or some corn flakes.
We did not have prior arrangements, but getting a room was no problem. Friendly service, quiet hotel. Had a great night's sleep with great beds and pillows. Breakfast was great for a hotel. Very clean dining area and rooms. Would gladly stay again if in the area.
When we checked in to our room, we let our 10-month-old daughter play on the floor. We were shocked when we noticed that her pajama feet were black from the carpet. We found pubic hair in the bathtub and black mold on the wall. When we notified the desk clerk, he called the manager, who offered to clean the room the next morning before we checked out. That was ridiculous. We got a 50 percent refund. The health department should be notified of the mold.
After booking 3 nights online, I had difficulty with the website so called the hotel directly to add on. Wish I had just called them to begin with. Courteous and pleasant – and a better rate than online! Our room faced out the back of the hotel which had a lovely view of the Blue Ridge Mountains – nice in daylight, but they became magical at dusk and when fog rolled in just before/after a rainstorm. The bathroom is large, the closet area small. We were surprised that the desk lamp and bedside lamps were not more modern with electrical outlets right at the base. It would have been nice to plug in our CPAPs and charge our phones that way as in other hotels nowadays. Having a Keurig to make our coffee was nice, and I kept creamers in the room fridge instead of just using the dry packet stuff. The hotel is convenient to the Walmart, two banks in front of the hotel, and gas stations.
One of the best hotel beds I've ever slept on. Also woke up to a tasty breakfast in the morning. Wish the air conditioner was a little quiet, but the room was very cool and since the visit was in the middle of the summer for a wedding, it was nice to come in to a nice, cool room.
This was the first time my friend and I had stayed here. All the staff was friendly (with the exception of the Lady in the Breakfast room). I said Good morning! & she mumbled something & frowned the whole time we were there. I didn't expect a "Red carpet". (smile) but she could have been friendlier. The Breakfast choices were real good, with the exception of the biscuits (doughy). Other than that.. the room was very clean, the beds were Great! (It was so comfortable, I didn't want to get up!) ; ) Would definitely stay here again! 10 STARS!!!!
