Grand Beach Inn

I stayed at the Grand Beach Inn for the Rev 3 Triathlon. I was looking for somewhere relatively quiet so I could get some rest for the race. Overall it wasn't a bad experience but I have definitely stayed a better hotels. The room was clean but pretty bare. We were in a corner suite with 2 double beds and a pull out in a living room. The room size was good. We had 4 adults and 3 kids and didn't feel crowded. The kitchenette had a full fridge, oven, stove, toaster, and microwave but minimal cook ware available. There were some mismatched plates but not much for pots or utensils, the frying pans were rusty with bits of nonstick coating flaking off. We were planning on making use of the kitchen, but ended up eating out because we didn't have enough to cook with. The beds were ok- not the most comfortable. The AC was so cold and didn't adjust well. The room felt damp, which I know is hard to escape at the beach- but maybe some dehumidifiers could help? The shower was great, small but excellent water pressure. My kids liked the pool a lot, but the layout meant the pool is right next to the main driveway, which was a little nerve wracking. The picnic tables and fire pit looked lovely, but we didn't have time to use them. There was plenty of parking and a trolley goes right to the downtown. The beach is just a short walk across the street. Unfortunately the hotel doesn't have a view of the ocean due to a couple high condos across the road.

First family vacation went to old orchard beach for a week and got a great deal in the room right across the street from the beach couldn't ask for a better location.

Truly enjoyed our off-season weekend stay. Room was huge and clean as a whistle. Great, firm beds, full kitchenette, across the street from the beach and a short drive or longish walk to Old Orchard Beach attractions. WiFi was down for 24 hours is my only complaint. Otherwise, highly recommended!

This our second time staying at the Grand Beach Inn. We had a wonderful experience last year, and couldn't wait to go back. It is close to the beach, less than 1 minute walk across the street. And close enough for a short drive to town, but away from the noise. The staff is very friendly and the room was big and clean.

There overnight for quick wedding no frills but was nice and clean.

I loved it here so much I'm actually looking into booking another trip next week! I'd absolutely recommend this hotel.

it sucked nothing went right room not made dirty noise till 3am owner not available for coplaints. I would never recommend this place to anbody

If you are lucky and get the remodeled part of the place you probably will be okay. But otherwise the other rooms are horribly outdated and not worth what they charge. The staff even knows how bad they were. We left early and thankfully were refunded our money. Do NOT recommend this place unless you get the remodeled units!!!

fairly quiet-centrally located-across thhe street from the beach-nice

Our stay at the Grandview Inn was a nice stay. The staff was very accommodating. Our room was on the third floor and we found that our mom wouldn't be able to make the flight of stairs. The staff worked hard with helping us move to a lower level.

Needs updating and repair, in general. Room was dirty, especially the bathroom.

The staff was very friendly and was able to honor request for early check in.Ceiling had rusty ceiling tiles which were loose. There was a spider in the bathroom and dead ones in towels. The toilet is very low to the ground so I'm sure an older person would have found this difficult.

This motel is in a nice spot but once you are in your room, it is not so peaceful. The walls are paper-thin as are the ceiling and floors. When the people walked in their room on the floor above me, it sounded like a herd of elephants above me and the window in my room rattled. When a young couple checked in next door, I could hear every word they were saying. It is impossible to get a decent night's sleep unless you are an very heavy sleeper. As far as the rest, you get what you pay for. It is a tired facility that needs a lot of work but it's okay in a pinch when you don't want to pay too much.

I would stay again when we go back to old orchard next year. We enjoyed the help from the staff when we needed directions to different places. The drinks down stairs where very deliciouse and the breakfast was great. The rooms where very clean and comfortable

We stayed here after a day hiking in New Hampshire. The staff was very friendly and helped us find a place to eat dinner in Portland. The hotel is one street over from the beach, and although we didn't go, I've heard that its lovely. The location is fairly close to downtown Old Orchard Beach. The only issue was with the air conditioning. It was 90-ish degrees and it took the air until midnight to get going. Overall though, good experience, fair price, great staff.

A very old hotel, had one broken bed. Reached at 9pm and had no one around to fix the bed. Rail tracks run behind the building and the entire building shakes, we were on the third floor, felt like a 6.0 earthquake!I would strongly recommend spending a little more on the car and staying the night in it, rather than this place. It was dirty, mouldy and there were druggies knocking on our door at 1 in the morning!Strongly recommend folks to never go to this place![...]

Hotel was a little run-down... the room had plumbing issues.

Could hear the people walking in the room above ours, the toilet had problems flushing, had to jiggle the handle just to be able to flush.

Room was cheap . Lots of spakle on the walls. Dishwasher wasn't working. Tv was from 1972 . The nice new tv was broke and sitting outside near the door . The water wasn't hot. The people on the above room had children coninuesly running around until 4 am.

Not much here, a 19" TV with no remote! Cigarette burns in one of the blankets raised our eyebrows too. Was awoken at night with a baby crying in the next room - the walls are thin! Better to stay down the street at one of the nicer hotels in the area.
