Checkin was slow. I booked a four people room for two adults and two kids. Somehow they told me that it showed as two adults and the front desk asks me to pay for each kid but the room was booked for 4 people and there was no extra service for kids. Even I said I would check in later because the family was waiting me for dinner. The frontdesk guy said no, I had to pay now. So I paid the peso and asked for receipt, but I waited another 15 min and did not get the receipt. They never gave me the receipt. The parking space is very small, they limited the space to those which are very hard for parking. Be careful on scratch and at least 10 min to park and get out. One day, the room was cleaned but the bathroom was not. I had to change the bathroom floor towel myselves.

As a couple, we have stayed twice at the Grand Fifty Suites. The building and it's rooms are spacious and clean. The kitchenette is handy for longer stays with full sized refrigerator, hotplate, microwave, blender and toaster. Staff at the front desk are courteous and helpful. Rafael is a real gem. Cleaning staff do a wonderful job of keeping the Grand Fifty Suites spotless. Location is great! Close enough to beaches and 5th Avenue but also fairly quiet at night. Boasts a lovely rooftop with pools, plenty of seating and beds. Wifi was decent (occasionally spotty in room) We really enjoyed our stays here and wouldn't hesitate to return.

I would definitely stay at this property again. My husband and I stayed there for 18 days with no problem. The staff and the amenities are great. It's definitely on the quieter end of fifth avenue.

I’ll not stay here again. From the beginning, Slow check, they charged me a fee which I asked to be paid with card and is one of those hotels who ask you to stay before sending someone to check your room. I’ll not stay here again.

Second time at this hotel and it never disappoints. All the staff are exceptionally courteous and professional. The rooms and common areas are impeccably clean. If you don't feel like going out your room comes equipped with a refrigerator, microwave and stove burners with fume hoods. It's a great place if you want to rest, relax and recharge from normal life. Grateful that this hotel and it's staff add to the Playa del Carmen charm! Thank you. Denis D.
