The beach and sand are wonderful

Very clean, staff was very helpful.

Girl checking is in new very little about opening/closing times of buffet and restaurants, maybe it was her first day. We were driven to our room because it was too far to walk but then our keycards didn’t work. I had to walk all the way back and get them rescanned. We had dinner at the buffet that night which was fine, they were still operating under covid protocol so we couldn’t serve ourselves. But the next morning we went to the buffet breakfast, were seated by the host, got our food but no one offered coffee or juice. We tried to get their attention, we flipped our coffee cups up to signal we’d like some and noticed that other people being seated after us were being asked if they wanted coffee or juice. We were never served even after finishing our breakfast. Upon check-out they couldn’t find our reservation, I had to give our name twice, write it out for them and then they said ‘one moment’ and just disappeared for 15 mins. She came back to tell us our reservation didn’t exist - we only stayed one night so I can’t understand how that happens or if the check-in girl just really didn’t know what she was doing. They recovered our printed check-in info and then told us everything was fine and we left but very strange process. The room was spacious and lovely, decent views, the buffet food had some decent items but the snack bar was terrible. All-inclusive can be worry free and I liked that it was adults only too, but we would not stay here again.

I explained to the guards that I had a reservation the next day and would like to see if the front desk would help me getting a room. The phone at the front desk just kept ringing and I was told to make a reservation for that day. I explained that I didn't have wifi and asked if I could come to the lobby to use the wifi and make a reservation. The front desk denied my request. The guard was kind enough to let me use his cell phone and I managed to get an expensive room for the night. Unacceptable. I had to change rooms the next day and it was another nightmare. I was made to wait for two hours before I got my key. Once I got my room it was at the very end of the hotel--I don't know why maybe because I was young and single. That night they fumigated around the room and soon after crabs, scorpions, and ants started moving in the room. In the lobby, the phone just kept ringing and ringing after my key didn't work I had to walk back from one end of the hotel to the other. The desk clerk explained that the cell phone renders the keys inactive. This should be explained before hand or change your technology. Wifi was useless for any practical purposes. I invited relatives for dinner and I was told I had to pay extra which wasn't a problem, but communication is lax. A horrible experience for me from day one. Sometimes they didn't bring towels, or forget coffee.... The guards were friendliest.

This property is so dated. The rooms had the minimum necessary. Not enough towels were left in the room. One day just 2 bath towels, one face towel and one floor towel for 2 people, next day 3 bath, and one small wash towel. No floor or face towels. The quality of the towels were horrible. The food also was very bad, even on the specialty restaurants. Not enough personnel in the front desk, every time we needed something we had to wait a long time. When we arrived there was a loud group of drunk people in the reception and nobody from the hotel made anything about it. That was the first impression. Property is too large and you depend on calling transportation to go everywhere. Not a 4.5 star hotel at all. Internet connection was almost never available and couldn’t do my work from the room, I had to go to reception and even there was hard to get reception. I do not recommend this property.

Location,staff and room

Beautiful location, beautiful beach. You have to do a lot of walking and climb lots of stairs to get around. things were not explained at check in, no maps or amenities explained so I had to figure where things are at, meals, drinks, etc. on my own. It would've been nice if things were explained better upfront. Food here was surprisingly good.

Not a 4 or 5 star resort, passable 3.5 star. Overall, the price is reasonable for the accommodation. Would I return, no. The entrance has the nicest view, similar to a movie. A scene from a drug kingpin's mansion, or a music video. The addition of a multiple restaurants and the view gave the star rating a bump. There were 3 restaurants, a bar, and a snack bar. The buffet food was over salted or bland. The desserts always tasted too sweet, with artificial sweetener and not real sugar. The snack bar was a little better. The Oriental (one of their restaurants) was very disappointing. The sashimi was old and the dessert fruit was from a can. The ginger sorbet was not a sorbet, more of a mousse. The rooms were not as clean as should be. The walls had some stains, looks like drips. The floors are not swept well, there were dead bugs all over the floor. The glasses in the bathrooms were not clean, they're usually not. The shower had a glass pane that was 1/3 the length of the shower. Water was on the floor every shower. The bathrooms are dark, need extra light if putting on makeup. There is a window on the shower wall, that did not lock. Only free activity offered was kayaking. Snorkeling was $200 for private, or $90/pp. Snorkeling was a 3 hour trip, but kayaking was maybe an hour. It was kayak around the corner, stop to swim, and kayak back. Two different types of sand. The Occidental beach sand was tan, the sand around the corner was black, similar to Bali's black sand.

Nice place, but food did not accomplish my expectations

There were dust mites and the service was terrible! I didn’t even stay I checked out early That’s how bad it was and I’m still fighting for my refund for the remainder days

Staff And entertainment was excellent. No included wifi and beach equipment sucked

This was my first time staying at a resort so I have little to compare too. but it was very nice

I liked everything. May be management can do something with evening activities, do more entertaining.

Beautiful property! Well kept! Difficult to find. No noticeable sign to get you to the property. Never had hot water in the shower i our entire stay

Very clean and beautiful property. staff is very pleasant and helpful. All of them understood english for those like me who dont speak spanish. Rooms are clean and beautiful. tons of stuff to do to keep your day jam packed of fun. Food is buffet style so dont be afraid of getting plate number 2 or 3 even 4. The wifi is trash and you have to pay for it but you're on vacation social media can wait. The drinks are grossly watered down and i was disappointed. They tasted like i was drinking juice stick to the can beers and wines to get your tipsy on or byob. Overall its a must visit. Also if you fly into san jose airport its a 3 and a half hour drive to the resort or a $180 taxi ride. The Liberia airport is closer. Just food for thought

The staff was very friendly and the food at all of the restaurants was very good. The grounds could have used some up keep as well as the hotel room floors. Waiting in line to make restaurant reservations every day was a pain in the butt.

Our Housekeeper departments work 24/7 to ensure the rooms and facilities are ready upon guest’s arrival and during their stay. As in any large property we have a continuous maintenance plan in place, so we will share your comments with their managers to ensure this is properly supervised. Regarding the Wi-fi service, unfortunately access can be slower during peak hours, different areas of the hotel or due to the weather conditions in the area, when many clients want to connect to our network we may have eventual saturation problems or fluency. However, we have strengthened the service with broadband internet and assistance from our systems technician.
