The Hotel is so big that it gives you the opportunity to burn calories. Always clean, everywhere smells good. The only thing was the Wi-Fi, you have to log in again in different places (maybe because its location is between the mountains) & also the TV cable doesn’t work by 1:00 AM. Anyway, me & my Family enjoyed our stay. We also there was nobody to give us the welcome drink at the lobby when we got there. After all, Riu Palace Costa Rica is highly recommended.

This property feels dated and in the past. Dining options are limited and what was available was not great. Cards for towels and hotel room keys vs. wristbands feels very old school. I would not visit this property again.

We did not have as enjoyable of an experience as we would have hoped for. The food was not of great quality, proteins were overcooked, the day to day variation was limited, and getting a timely reservation was not convenient. You should allow guests to make reservations in advanced, not only after the restaurant has opened. The room key was problematic for us on at least 3 occasions, each of which wasted at least an hour of our time as we waited for someone to help and fix it. Reception staff was not very friendly or helpful. We know there were other guests complaining of the same concerns, often times, overlapping with our times of trouble. The facility as a whole is outdated, many things are in terrible shape (jammed drawers, doors that don't slide open smoothly, front doors that do not seal, rusted soap dispensers, broken, rusted and incomplete gym equipment...)

Hotel was very nice! Pools were warm and clean. Food was good and A/C worked really well. I didn't like how small the 2 beds were and no privacy for our family for the tub and shower. Staff were polite and excellent service.

The staff is amazing, I hope they are paid well! When asked about tipping they were unclear so we tipped occasionally. Only complaint about service was check in. The woman checking us in gave us wrong information about restaurant hours, did not provide an activity calendar and did not provide information about the property. The pools are beautiful but the restrooms are far and not plentiful! Makes a person wonder how much pee is actually in the pools?!?! Please consider adding a restroom near the pools and the beach...perhaps the area between the beach and the pool. The beach area was nice but the staff feeding the monkeys was a little frustrating. Feeding wild monkeys does not seem to be eco friendly or smart! The foam party was fun, the shows were adequate, the drinks were good, the service was outstanding! The restaurant system needs to be made clear on the first day. First come first serve is different than two seating's at each restaurant. We needed to be at the restaurant 45 minutes before they opened to get in on the 1st or 2nd seating wait list. Please, just consider taking reservations! Food was good and service was spectacular!
