Honestly I think that the following review would not give justice to the amazing quality of this hotel. Hotel is overall amazing, clean and caters to adults and children. The staff is extraordinary. They go above and beyond in making everyone feel at home. They are very friendly, nice and they go the extra mile of what it’s expected. Food is absolutely good. They have various delicious options to choose from so you’ll never run out of things to eat. My favorite part, the shows (night performances). I have to admit, whenever I go to a resort I always expect the shows to be mediocre but that wasn’t the case for RIU Guanacaste. The entertainment team did an outstanding job in creating such amazing shows as well as performing them. You could tell by their performance that they really did their homework to be able to put together a show as accurate and as professional as possible. I’m beyond satisfied with my stay here. I highly recommend this hotel. I can’t wait to go back there again!!! Thank you Riu team for all your hard work!

It is on one of the best beaches in Costa Rica and has a sister resort next door you can visit. I also got a great Fillet in the Toscana restaurant. The only complaint is its getting old so the elevators have problems.

Food was good. Room issues, did not give me what I requested instead gave a disabled room. No alcohol in the room dispenser. Little things in the room would break as soon as it was touched (light switch)

We had a wonderful vacation. Like the hotel, food, drinks and all the entertainment. But mostly love the staff and how friendly, and hard working they are.

It's a great hotel but need upgrades. Food was a lot better than the last time. I didn't like some of the quality of the food, quality of the drinks, only cheap liquor, after 11pm everything is served in paper cups, even wine. Elevators only for 5 people at the time.

The food was terrible and certain resturants will turn you away at 630pm saying they are cant take anymore people when dinner start at 600

This is a tourist property most of the staff do not speak English which is so aggravating when you have a quest and no one can help you. My a/c in my room was not working well after 2 days someone looked at it. The food was horrible no seasoning at all. The amount of food my party of 6 discarded was crazy. If the food was seasoned well they would have less food to trash. The property can use some upgrades as well as the shower in my room water pressure was super low. The a/c thermostat was outdated I didn’t even know how to work it. The ceiling fan made a noise all night. The Rui in Jamaica is so much better I was disappointed with this property

Thank you

The staff is great! The location is breathtaking. Loved our stay!

The beach was beautiful. The venders were very friendly. The staff was nice but didn't always communicate well. The property definitely needs updating

The thing I don’t like Is you can walk yo the other property and use the swimming pools Like Barceló properties

Very attentive staff. Great care of property and grounds. Wish we were able to have access to small catamaran but understand the water conditions are different than other RIU properties. Wonderful time!!

Sport bar refrigerator door needs to be cleaned frequently

I’ve stayed at 20 RIU resorts. This one was ok. Staff. Believe it or not. We’re less than attentive to our needs. Very ho hum. Just like whatever happens. Happens. Bugs bugs bugs. I live in the south. I’m used to bugs. But this RIU was covered with flys. Bees and other biting insects. Beach sucked. Never even got in the water. I live in SC. Our beaches are nicer. Hot black sand. Very unappealing water. Snorkeling was a joke. And. Lackadaisical attitude towards things. First trip there. Won’t go back. Priority was good. But. That’s it’s. Nothing special.

This is our second trip to this specific property and the only one we will use when visiting Costa Rica.
