"Location was great, right next to Vondelpark, in a very safe area. Notably, the air conditioning was excellent--I was actually cold at night, which was amazing during the heat wave. The manager and the receptionist during the day were friendly and nice, and helpful with recommendations for the area. Overall the room was fine. However, there were a lot of crumbs behind the nightstand where the plug was, as if they didn't vacuum at all. Also, I found 3 springtails/silverfish on the comforter, which grossed me out as I was trying to sleep. I had a misunderstanding with the night receptionist--he and I didn't understand each other when I asked for a taxi. He thought I called the taxi for 11 pm and I thought I called it for 11 am (which is when I needed it). He knocked at the door when the taxi arrived and was visibly upset with me and annoyed that he "had to" deal with the taxi company...I told him I would go down to the lobby and speak with the taxi company, but in the 5 minutes that it took me to get dressed, put shoes on, and go downstairs, he had already spoken to the taxi driver and dismissed them. I told the receptionist I would pay the taxi driver since he was there, but nothing I said was making the receptionist less upset with me. It was uncomfortable."

"Wonderful room on 5th floor overlooking planes, air conditioning most welcome on a very hot day. Easy walk in the morning to the airport, very helpful staff both checking in and out. Peaceful nights sleep, couldn’t fault and will use again when needed."

"We stayed for 2 nights before our flight out of Schiphol. Got the Superior room with double bed and sofa bed on the ground floor. It was very small, and not much space to open luggage, had to do it one at a time but we just made do. It was also my first time to stay in a hotel with no refrigerator in the rooms. It’s good that the butter i was bringing home did not melt. We had another booking for the day after for a smaller room and when i told the front desk guy, he told us we had to check out and move our luggage. On the day of check out, the lady at the front desk, KAREN, made us stay in our room since we had another booking for that night. It made our schedule better cos we did not have to wait for 3pm to check in again. So we had more time in Amsterdam. Thank you to Karen. The free shuttle was a big reason we booked there. But you have to be ready with your luggage as the bus does not have a separate area for it, so it will be with you on the bus. Make sure to check the schedule for the bus to Schipol. Breakfast was basic western, with hams, cheeses, cereals, breads, juices plus coffee and tea."
