From Copenhagen to Amsterdam

Copenhagen, Denmark, is a fantastic, vibrant city, but if you choose to leave it for a few days, you will not regret taking a trip to the friendly, laid-back party city of Amsterdam, Netherlands. Leaving Copenhagen

Copenhagen Airport provides service to passengers flying in and out of the city. More than 60 airlines service passengers at this airport, which offers direct and connecting flights to Amsterdam and many other cities. Copenhagen Airport is located five miles southeast of the downtown area and is easily accessible by bus, car, shuttle, or train. If you decide to drive yourself to the airport, you can leave your car at one of the many parking lots available. Long-term parking starts at $9 per day and goes up to $30 per day, depending on the lot you choose. If you park your car far away from the airport terminal, you can board a shuttle at the parking lot to get to the airport’s main gate.

Arriving in Amsterdam

Your flight to Amsterdam will land at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol, located approximately five miles from downtown Amsterdam. Once you land, you’ll have plenty of transportation options from which to choose, including shuttles, taxicabs, busses, and trolleys. You can rent a vehicle in advance on if you want to drive throughout Amsterdam during your stay; however, most residents and visitors of Amsterdam prefer to walk, take a bus, or drive to their destination. Bicycles are also a popular form of transportation in Amsterdam, and you can rent a bicycle in the city for as low as $8 per day. While you are in Amsterdam, you can visit one of the city’s many museums. The most popular attractions in Amsterdam include the Anne Frank House, the Van Gogh Museum, the Heineken Museum, the Jewish Museum, and the Nemo Science Museum, which is perfect for families and kids.
