Hotel Cornelisz3.0 out of 5.0

location of this hotel is the best, in the center of many interesting places and events, exactly halfway between Leidseplein and museums. Public transport just 50 m from the hotel. Room size is slightly lower, equipped typical for 3-star hotel. The staff is extremely helpful. Breakfast outstanding .Cozy and pleasant place to rest on the first floor . Absolute recommendation !
I have to say that I booked this place on the day we were going. As always I checked the reviews but left it to chance as we needed to get away. Well, what can I say, it was better than we expected. The kids loved the rooms especially the free wi-fi as did we and the location is ideal for the museums and the Heineken Experience. We walked to the Dam Square which was literally a fifteen/twenty minute walk and the Leidseplain Square was a ten minute walk if that. We preferred it to the Dam Square. Plus all the designer shops line the road of the hotel. We ate in the square for both nights and enjoyed the falafel pitta at the vegetarian take away. Though I must admit I found Amsterdam pricey but if you shop in the supermarkets you get better deals. We did have breakfast on the first day at 12.50 euros but found it a little pricey for what we were getting but it was nice to try. The staff were very welcoming even when we left our luggage on the day of departure. The rooms aren't massively big but they were clean and adequately equipped with tea/coffee making facilities, fresh towels and the lovely big windows with the view. The lounge & outside sitting area was beautifully done. All in all if we came back this would be definitely the place to stay as it is round the corner from the trains/tram to take you from A to B. From the airport it's 197 & costs 5e, takes you straight to the hotel! The Body World is a must see as is the Heineken Experience, the Red Light District is worth a visit too, we also squeezed in a canal cruise!!
The location was perfect !!! Very helpful and warm staff at the reception ....... Nice breakfast ...... And comfortable bed. Tram and bus station just around the corner Vondelpark , iamsterdam sign, canal cruise , museum all at a walkable distance
I visited Amsterdam several times during these 2 years and hotel Cornelisz for me is the best in term of location, public transport access, nice surroundings. Eating place are not so much but there are some good restaurants nearby or go to other areas that can be reached by light train in only 5-10 minutes ride. Staff was so nice and helpful. The only thing need to improve is sound proofing. I can hear guests next door talking.
Cant stress enough the amazing location of this hotel, lose to the rijk museum, van gogh, the bulldog. Great house keeping, friendly staff, a nice foyer to smoke, drink, read, use the internet, for all guests tobuse. Breakfast for an extra 15 euro a day, perfect place for a kip and wash then enjoy what amsterdam has to offer.
This was our hotel for a three days trip to Amsterdam. We had it from an special online offer so it was really cheap for us. The hotel is easy to find and it is not too far away from public transportation. The staff in there was very helpful and they gave us good advise for the city side seeings. The breakfast was included and really good! Thank you for this great experience and bye foor nu!
This hotel is very conveniently located near the Museums, the canal and the park. The staff were wonderful and very helpful. We had a problem with the shower which was fixed immediately. There is a lift up to your room and the room was clean and pleasant. An outdoor smoking lounge is provided on the second floor. BUT..... the double room was TINY ! A double bed against the wall is a recipe for problems if the occupant next to the wall needs to visit the bathroom during the night. There was hardly room to put 2 suitcases and no wardrobe at all. Really very tight. AND .......while the lift is great it does not access the breakfast room which is down a very tight set of stairs. Nevertheless breakfast was nice. Lovely hotel but......
This hotel was great the staff were very pleasant and helpful its in a great location you have Blue boat canal cruises just around the corner and cross over the road also there you have a casino the hard rock cafe and Aran Irish bar where they served great food not too far about 10 min walk you have the Heineken experience everywhere is within walking distance 1st day we got number 2 or 5 tram into Dam square to get our bearings cost 2.90 euro after that we walked everywhere as we were central
This hotel is wonderfully-located. 2 mins to the Museum quarter and airport express bus stop and just over the road from the Vondelpark. Half an hour walk from Amsterdam Centraal Train Station. All the staff were really friendly and helpful. They let us store our bags in their luggage room for free which was v useful. The hotel is also modern and clean. I'd have given it 4 stars if it weren't for one problem: the 'double' room was TINY! Note to owner: if one side of a double bed is up against a wall, it's a single room, not a double!! It meant that getting out to use the loo in the night woke my partner. Wouldn't mind this for a couple of nights if I was paying around 60 euros pn, but we paid 93 pn and thought it was a bit of a rip off. Please make this issue clear to people when booking!
The hotel is in a great location which helps inflate the price online, but it sooo not a value for money. For such a pricy a place you would expect some basic quality. Walls are too thin, door banging too loud. some staff are truly nice and some don't being in hotels. Rooms are not tiny, they are good size I hope I don't have to stay here again.
