It was a horrible experience - we booked and paid for this hotel months ahead and not until we arrived were we told it had a sudden problem and they couldn't accommodate us. They had arranged however to put us a nearby but lesser grade hotel. We went to see and had to agree because we were tired. However, they would not reimburse us for the difference in hotel rooms. We booked a superior room and ended up with just a shabby 2-3 star hotel room. There was no breakfast in the new one. In total we paid abt 370 euro exc tax for 2 nights and the new hotel was only 120 euro per night. Yes, we have asked Hotels.com to do sth but after nego, they just said it's the hotel management and rules for no refund! Totally unacceptable. We know accidents happened but this arrangement is totally out of proportions.
