Hotel Cornelisz is based in a brilliant location of Amsterdam. Not in the main tourist area whilst also being in the middle of the city, near Vondel Park and a shopping district. The beds were very comfortable and the room was great, with good bathroom facilities, apart from the shower not working in our room. This, however, was not a problem as the bathtub was very nice and just the ticket after a long day walking in Amsterdam. If you are flying to Amsterdam airport, a bus route stops 2 minutes away from this hotel direct from the airport and also has good team and bike links to the city. The breakfast was good with nice food for the morning, with the ability to eat as much as you want. The lounge area was small and we never used it, but people often utilised its space and sofas. The WiFi was good as well. Overall a good stay for three nights, with great transport and travel links and great facilities.
I visit Amsterdam occasionally and have found a gem of a hotel. Fantastic location, ideal for couples or families. The rooms are a good size for the city. Lovely view from the 5th floor rooms. Tasty buffet breakfast included in the cost. The visitors lounge and outdoor decking is such a bonus. I will definitely be booking the Corneliaz in future.
Hotel Cornelisz Amsterdam Is a good choice if You're looking for an affordable hotel in a good location in Amsterdam. I've stayed there for one night and had It all very easy. The crew Is very friendly and helpful :)
This hotel is situated on the most expensive street of Amsterdam. Go window shopping, or shopping all you can while not forgetting about visiting the museums (it's ONE block away from Musemplein, where the Rijksmuseum and Van Gogh museum are). Very convenient access to tramway and the hotel has bicycles for hire. A very short walk from the Heineken experience, too. It's a hidden gem! Room is quite small and minimal, but the bathroom is spacious enough, and you can always hang out in the 1st floor lounge. I was well taken care of, and I enjoyed my stay a lot. 4 bubbles because the hotel is not an amazing 5-star, but for this price range you can't get any better.
Only reason it's not a 5 is because of the room size. We booked a double and was very very tiny but we managed since we only showered and slept there. It's in a great location in the museum area, one block away from the bus to and from the airport and other busses to all the main attractions. Great breakfast, friendly staff and clean rooms. At check-in they provide a map that pin points the hotel and all the attraction spots as well as public transport. Will go back when back in Amsterdam. Nite there are no clothes irons in the rooms and unsure if there was AC. We didn't need the latter since it was chilly during our visit.
Location of the hotel was excellent & the staff reasonably helpful and friendly, however the room that we got was the smallest room either of us have ever seen. When we researched hotels to stay in, there was no information on sizes of rooms, so when we booked through Virgin travel, we opted for a small room. Having travelled Europe & stayed in small rooms previously, it seemed like it wouldn't be a problem, however this was so tiny, it seemed little more than a large cupboard. If staying in this hotel....don't opt for the small sized room. It would be helpful from the hotel, to have information on sizes of rooms on their website.
Hotel was fairly basic but had all you needed. Rooms were comfortable and very good price. Location was excellent, right in the museum area and also surrounded by designer shops. Nice lounge and terrace area. Breakfast available for 12 euros but didn't try it as lots of cafe's around which I felt offered better value. Staff were friendly, approachable and very helpful. Would not hesitate staying here again. The hotel was having a lot of work done at the time so was probably noisier than usual however it is in a busy neighbourhood so don't be surprised if you hear trams and traffic around outside at all hours. Free wifi and was very quick.
location of this hotel is the best, in the center of many interesting places and events, exactly halfway between Leidseplein and museums. Public transport just 50 m from the hotel. Room size is slightly lower, equipped typical for 3-star hotel. The staff is extremely helpful. Breakfast outstanding .Cozy and pleasant place to rest on the first floor . Absolute recommendation !
I have to say that I booked this place on the day we were going. As always I checked the reviews but left it to chance as we needed to get away. Well, what can I say, it was better than we expected. The kids loved the rooms especially the free wi-fi as did we and the location is ideal for the museums and the Heineken Experience. We walked to the Dam Square which was literally a fifteen/twenty minute walk and the Leidseplain Square was a ten minute walk if that. We preferred it to the Dam Square. Plus all the designer shops line the road of the hotel. We ate in the square for both nights and enjoyed the falafel pitta at the vegetarian take away. Though I must admit I found Amsterdam pricey but if you shop in the supermarkets you get better deals. We did have breakfast on the first day at 12.50 euros but found it a little pricey for what we were getting but it was nice to try. The staff were very welcoming even when we left our luggage on the day of departure. The rooms aren't massively big but they were clean and adequately equipped with tea/coffee making facilities, fresh towels and the lovely big windows with the view. The lounge & outside sitting area was beautifully done. All in all if we came back this would be definitely the place to stay as it is round the corner from the trains/tram to take you from A to B. From the airport it's 197 & costs 5e, takes you straight to the hotel! The Body World is a must see as is the Heineken Experience, the Red Light District is worth a visit too, we also squeezed in a canal cruise!!
The location was perfect !!! Very helpful and warm staff at the reception ....... Nice breakfast ...... And comfortable bed. Tram and bus station just around the corner Vondelpark , iamsterdam sign, canal cruise , museum all at a walkable distance
