Great location - you can walk to all of the main attractions. Easy to get here by public transportation from the airport. Rooms are clean and look like the pictures on their website. Only minus is that cleaning comes by very late in the afternoon when most people are back from sightseeing. Fire alarm went off during our stay - when we went down to the reception area we were told to go back to our rooms. Would have been nice if the man in the reception had given more information about the incident. Great WiFi and very helpful staff. Overall a very good experience and would definitely book again and/or recommend

Stayed for 3 nights March 2018. Hotel is in a good location for everything. Hotel itself was very nice. Clean and tidy with a lovely lounge on first floor. Contentental breakfast was standard. No complaints. Tram stop less than 100m away. Rijksmuseum next door also. Plenty bars and restaurants close by.

Really nice hotel, good location, nice room and bathroom with good service. My friend and I have stayed here twice.. we even got the same room we stayed at last time which we liked and requested again. Check-in and check out is so smooth and they have really nice mints in reception! Reception are always helpful if you need anything. Only issue we had was a used pillow case being left on our bed.

This hotel is based in a very good and convenient location. It's situated very close to trams that go to the town centre, you can also walk to town! The area is safe, quiet but close to many amenities. There's lota to see on the way to town centre too if you do choose to walk! The staff were pleasant and very kind, the young man working there allowed me to use an umbrella during my stay and it was a god send! The other young man said I could keep it even longer if needs be, so based on that they're very thoughtful. The rooms are dated but function well and are clean. My only issue with the rooms is you can hear pretty much everything that is going on outside your room...I guess the sound insulation is lacking somewhat. The WiFi is generally okay, not the fastest and did cut out at times but it's tolerable. I do recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Amsterdam, it's really very good!

Stayed in the Cornelisz mid February with three friends. Absolutely faultless. Everything you needed was provided. The breakfast delicious and a great location. Beds very comfy, room came with a TV, Coffee, Tea and magazines about Amsterdam which were good to flick through for inspiration on what to do. Would highly recommend.

This hotel is in the perfect location for exploring Amsterdam. The tram/bus stop is 30 seconds from the hotel which will take you from the Museum Quarter to Central Station in 15 minutes. Its also only 1 minute walk to Rijksmusuem. Staff were friendly - we had a problem with our shower on our first morning and it was fixed immediately. Rooms are very small and the hotel itself was quite noisy on one of the nights. Breakfast was ok - cereals, yoghurts, pastries - enough to fill a gap and keep you going.

Lovely hotel within walking distance of all museums, shops and transport (bus 357 from airport and 397 to return to airport - bus stop near hotel) Our corner room on floor 3 was spacious (room 306) with three large windows. Breakfast was very nice with scrambled eggs, sausages cooked tomatoes etc. Beds extremely comfortable and when I asked for an extra pillow, one was brought to room in minutes. Tea & coffee making facilities in room. Shower was huge and very modern. The best shower I’ve been in. Radiator in room which was easy to turn the heat up. Only three small negatives which couldn’t detract from 5 stars.... 1: On returning to the room after a day out there was a terrible smell of cigarette smoke - I believe this came from smokers out the open windows or the decking area below. 2: The safe is located inside a wardrobe on the floor and could only be accessed by crouching and kneeling down (could be a problem for people with limited mobility). 3: Fire alarm went off at 01.30 one night and nearly gave me a heart attack. No staff appeared and no explanation. The reception staff were lovely though and very helpful. I would definitely stay here again.

The hotel is in a good location and walking distance to the heart of Amsterdam. Clean room and friendly service. Parking available on the street or close by although pricey which is a city wide issue.

Overall, very nice rooms comfortable with nice beds, perfect for the price. The breakfast is quite good, eggs, pastries, fresh juices and more. I would've given 5 stars, but we had to change rooms, because of an electricity generator was in front of our room, nearby a house remodelling. The second room was perfect!

NEVER in my life have I encountered a front desk employee as nasty, rude, snarky, and insensitive as the woman at the front desk of Hotel Cornelisz. I wish I had gotten this woman’s name as I would gladly share it here out of utter disgust for the way she treated my mother and me on the afternoon of Christmas Day 2017. I was severely ill and was in need of a restroom ASAP — upon finding this hotel my mother and I ran into the lobby, past the front desk, and down a flight of stairs towards a restroom that was in no way marked as “for guests only.” I will also note that we did not stop to ask at the front desk if we could use the restroom, NOT because we are rude, but because 1. It was legitimately an emergency that I get to a restroom and 2. The woman at the front desk was busy conversing with someone else. As we were walking back up the stairs to the lobby this employee condescendingly stops us, questions my mother and me, talking down to us and treating us like trash, demanding that we pay one euro each for using the restroom since we are not guests of the hotel. She also accused us of being rude, despite the fact that we desperately tried explaining how sick I was, and she merely shrugged her shoulders with a careless, compassion-less, snarky expression on her face and claimed we could have waited in line before using the bathroom. Regardless of the fact that it was Christmas Day, I was violently ill, and that my mother and I — had we been approached kindly wouldn’t have minded paying this strange but I suppose reasonable amount — it was the manner in which this awful woman treated us that has left such a negative impression on my first trip to Amsterdam. I have never before been treated with such a blatant lack of empathy, kindness, compassion, or respect by another human being, and I can say with certainty that I will never forget this encounter and how humiliating this employee made me feel. I apologize for the length of this post but if you value decent human kindness and respect then I urge you to stay elsewhere while in Amsterdam or this will undoubtedly ruin your experience of an otherwise beautiful city. I have many friends who travel to Amsterdam and I am urging them to avoid Hotel Cornelisz, and they have already begun rightfully spreading the word. Hotel Cornelisz, I urge you to rethink your definitions of both “customer service” and “human decency” and proceed accordingly with the rest of your horrid staff.
