The hotel is obviously quite old and really needs a refurbishment. The front desk people are poorly trained and several billing errors took forever to correct. The boat transfer to Universal is fine going in the morning, but terrible at night waiting 2 to 3 hours in line as so many people are attempting to return to hotel. The costs are inflated based on staying close to Universal. Everything costs more than expected or than it's worth.

Beautiful property, including the beautifully landscaped Villa pool. Room was very comfortable. Mama Della’s Ristorante was charming and the food was delicious. Buffet breakfast at Trattoria del Porto was also delicious but the chafing dishes didn’t keep the food hot enough. Our waiter, Bryan, was a gem!

I didn’t feel well and missed a day from theme parks so this hotel stay was comfortable and clean. I love the ambience and theme of the hotel. The size of the room was decent. Bed was comfortable and the bathroom was very clean and spacious. We had room service since we attended a concert and the food was great. Overpriced, but expected to pay for convenience. The staff were very kind and attentive. They had a mini fridge. Only downsides were that they didn’t have a microwave in the room. Also, their TVs need to get updated. For the nightly rate, I think they could upgrade their TVs. We stayed in a new Hilton hotel during this trip and their TV had apps. We logged into our Netflix, Disney+, etc. Since we stayed in for the day, we were at the mercy of what was playing on cable.
