Disney's Old Key West Resort3.5 out of 5.0

I just got back from Disney's Old Key West from a 5 night stay in a 2 bedroom villa and it was wonderful. I went with a party of 9, which included 5 adults, 4 children (15, 7, 5, and 19 months old) and we all had enough space. The kitchen had glassware (including some plastic dishes for the kids and wine glasses), utensils, plates, knifes, dishwashing soap, etc. There was also a laundry room inside our villa that had detergent. Our suite also had a high chair (like the ones found in restaurants) and a Graco port-a-crib. The crib also had a fitted sheet which was also nice (most hotels I have stayed at do not have a fitted sheet, but just a regular sheet to wrap around the mattress). We stayed near the hospitality center and were close to the Peninsular bus stop. Old Key West has a few bus stops and a ferry. The pool was great and the the slide was pretty long, which I did not expect. I loved the vibe of the resort and the staff was very helpful. The only downside to the hotel itself was both bathrooms were in each of the bedrooms, which was a little rough for the people who sleep on the pull out sofa and chair, since they have to go into a bedroom to use a bathroom. I thought a separate entrance to the bathroom from the hallway may have been more conducive for guests who sleep in the common area. However, that is the only critique I have of the layout, otherwise, it was perfect.
The room was about a mile from the hospitality area. We have a 3 year old and there was not sidewalk in our area so we had to walk through a parking lot to get to the bus stop to get to the hospitality area. We paid too much to be too far away to enjoy the hotel.
We stayed in the two bedroom villa and was very comfortable. Nice room and close to bus top.
We were very impressed with the Disney Old Key West Hotel. We rented a two bedroom villa,it was very clean and enough room for everyone. I was impressed that they cleaned such a big place daily. Will stay here again.
Great staff at every level, you can see the difference!
My family and I really enjoyed our stay at Old Key West Resort. The shuttle service to and from the airport and the parks was great and very convenient. We were near the Hospitality House, which I would recommend requesting as the resort is very large. The room had a nice big deck and kitchen. Disney definitely does things right!
We enjoyed our stay very much. The location was great and the bus transportation easy to use and reliable. The property was very nice. The only negative in our eyes was the breakfast at Olivia's. We would go back again.
We had a great time! We were astonished by the size and beauty of the 1 bedroom villa. Everything we needed in the kitchen and bathroom was right there. It was relaxing and enjoyable. It was on the pricey side but mostly worth it. The cable is restricted to Disney owned channels which was disappointing because there isn't much on and it kinda felt like they were forcing you to see what they want you to do at Disney Parks, but TV wasn't a significant part of our trip. This was part of our Christmas, like a present to ourselves, and we didn't want to leave!!!
The room was better than I expected. My wife and I took our 4 little grandkids. The unit was spacious and comfortable. I wasn't going to book this room because of the high price, but Orbiz gave me a deal that put it within my budget. Disney does everything first class. Everyone there is helpful and very pleasant. I would recommend anyone who goes to disney to book a room on the grounds at any of their hotels (thru Orbiz).
FANTASTIC location for the start of the marathon on Sunday!!! Loved the water taxi, the room was amazing, probably the nicest one I've ever stayed in. The sofa bed was not very comfortable though, and for more than 2 guests staying there and the price, I was disappointed. My futon at home has a MUCH better mattress. The lanai was great-so nice to have lunch there after the marathon and soak up a bit more of the outdoors before I headed back north to the land of ice and snow.
Perfect location, great employees, quiet and comfortable!
We really liked the layout and decor of our room at Old Key West. Our college-age son slept on the pull-out couch in the living room area. Large bathroom, full kitchen and laundry room were nice. The resort was centrally located for visiting the Disney theme parks, and we also were able to visit the Universal Studios parks as well. I used the water taxi to get from Old Key West to Downtown Disney, but the return trip was cut short because of thunder, and I had to find alternative transportation from Saratoga Springs. Road signs in Disney World are confusing and it would help if exits were numbered. It's easy to get to the theme parks, but hard to return to the resort (you get lost if you miss a sign).
It was the perfect place for our family to stay at during our 5 day vacation trip to Disney. Easy access to the Disney shuttle to go to the different parks. You can also take the ferry boat ride to Downtown Disney from this location. The room was very clean and well maintained. Worry free vaction! You can even have pizza delivery if you don't feel like going out.
Room was average. Location is good. You cant walk anywhere. Have to take the buses which our kids loved and they were very convenient to get around.
Staying in a WDW resort is always the way to go: easy/fast access to parks and other resorts, Magic hours, free parking or transportation, etc.
Disney resorts are always nice but this resort had a wonderful staff that literally Welcomed you Home ever time you came back to the resort after a day away or at a park. The accomidations were beautiful, the most relaxing time I have had in Orlando.
Our 2 night stay was too brief to enjoy all this laid back resort had to offer. The ferry ride to downtown Disney was very nice. The landscape was beautiful. The one bedroom studio was adequate for a family of four. Completely enjoyable experience.
