SpringHill Suites Marriott Norfolk Old Dominion University

Stayed overnight with two teenagers to see a concert at the Constant Center. Check in was easy and very quick, parking (an additional $8.00+ fee) was very convenient, the staff was amazingly friendly (especially the breakfast ladies), and the room was comfortable and very clean. I also appreciated some of the additional security, such as needing a guest's room entry card to get to the room floors of the hotel. Particularly with the kids, I really appreciated having the additional sitting room area. I would definitely stay here again.

On ODU campus, so perfect if ODU is your destination. The staff couldn't have been nicer, every one of them (which was a pleasant surprise).

Checked in the night before an early morning meeting at Old Dominion University. Right across the street from campus - couldn't have been more convenient.

I would give the staff a 5+ They were always cordial. We were at a USTA tennis tournament, and they would ask - How'd you do? when we returned to hotel. Amenities didn't get a 5 because we had to ask at the front desk to get lotion - which we did get, but usually it's in the room. The restaurant was a good value and hamburgers super special. The room was a bit on the expensive side, didn't know if that was a game weekend price. Would recommend hotel if price was about $50 cheaper than what I paid.

Very positive experience..helpful staff with luggage...would stay there again

Great location, perfect for graduation! Would highly reccommend.

The room was great, the staff was excellent and I would definitely stay here again!

The hotel was clean and convient to Naval station with resturants near by.

The staff was wonderful and very helpful. We used to spa and pool and it was very clean.

great!!! great breakfast, very clean room and close to campus

We stayed at this hotel while visiting the beach. Although it was a little drive to the beach, it was a really nice hotel at an affordable price. Room service was really slow. We requested more towels and blankets and eventually had to go down and get them ourselves from the front desk after being told the items would be brought to us. The hotel pool and hot tub was closed on our second day there which was a bummer because we were really looking forward to using it! The complimentary breakfast was really good. I would stay at this hotel again but not for a beach visit (because of the drive). I was also expecting there to be more things to do being that the hotel was right next to ODU.

Stayed here for a visit to family and a graduation weekend....compfortable hotel..friendly staff

Has a suite... Bath towels were thin Internet dropped in and out Three people identified when booking but fold-out bad was not made up on arrival or on second day. Did not replace or provide additional soap or shampoo or creme rinse for 2nd day "Stink bugs" in the suite.

Hotel was having problems with hot water both days we were there. Staff was friendly in trying to fix it, but they ended up giving us a total of 2500 Marriott points as an apology. Also, beware of rooms on the front of the hotel as the noise from Hampton Avenue is pretty bad, and is made worse by people coming in and out of the sports bar, not to mention the fire station down the street. This hotel is clean; the breakfast is decent; and the location is great if you have business at ODU, but it is not quite up to the Marriott standard.

We loved the front desk staff on the day we arrived at the hotel. The rooms were nice enough, but there was dried urine and a pubic hair on our toilet seat, which was disgusting. I would have complained, but we were staying only one night. There are few hotels within the immediate vicinity, though, which are as nice as this one. If you're staying at ODU, we would recommend it nonetheless.

Pay attention to the desk staff - they charged me for the room a second time - even though I booked/paid through orbitz - Nice hotel.

The location was superb for attending the ODU orientation and then looking for apartments to situate our son who is transferring to the school.

The hotel is in a super location at the edge of the beautiful ODU campus and just minutes from downtown Norfolk. We had the convenience of the city sights like Nauticus, the U.S.S. Wisconsin, and the MacArthur Memorial, for example, without the city noise or traffic to contend with. I also liked the convenience of the parking garage just across from the hotel's main entrance, and just down the street was the little "Main Street" shopping/living community (bookstore and Starbucks!). Colley Ave. runs parallel to Hampton Blvd. and has many restaurants to choose from (try Fellini's). The spotless suite was roomy for two and it was terrific to have a mini-fridge and microwave in the room. We also enjoyed the complimentary breakfast. Every staff person we encountered was friendly and helpful. I'd definitely stay here again.

Breakfast is very good, although the last day there was not enough room for the crowd. The only negative was having to park on the 5th floor of the ramp on the last night/. Overall a very pleasant stay.
