Everything you want in a hostel - clean facilities, safe location, great staff, awesome atmosphere, and incredible staff. Save money on lodging here at Auberge so you can spend on party supplies every night. Whether it's going out for live music on Frenchman or creating your own live music at hostel karaoke...there's find to be had here.

I travelled with a friend and we booked the private dorm which was at the top of the building and had an en-suite. It was a lovely room and the staff were happy to give us extra bedding since we aren’t a couple and didn’t want to cuddle up ! The hostel staff were very helpful with advice about where to eat/ drink etc. Communication before you stay is good and they respond to email questions. The hostel is in a quiet area and is an easy streetcar ride from the French Quarter ( the streetcar stop is a two minute walk away and the journey takes about 20mins and a 24h ticket is only $3) and it is a short walk ( about 5/10 mins) from the hostel to the Garden district. As two women we felt safe walking to and from the hostel to the streetcar stop at night. The kitchen is small but seemed adequate for the number of people using it when we were there. The breakfast is fine and I even got a lesson in how to make American pancakes! They make up a batch of batter so you can help yourself and there was cereal and bread to toast and tea and coffee and milk. There were evening activities organised which is great for people travelling alone and the place has a homely feel to it. Would definitely recommend.

I went to New Orleans on a solo trip to visit Tulane. The location of this hostel was perfectly located between the University, the French Quarter, and plenty of other points of interest that were within walking distance. The place was very clean (saw staff cleaning all over multiple times per day), and the bathrooms were never full. There is also a separate single occupancy bathroom with a shower that is available to guests that prefer more space/privacy to the shared bathrooms. As a solo traveler, this hostel was a great option because of the small scale of it and the shared kitchen space. It honestly felt like staying at your friend's place because everyone would gather and chat in the kitchen in the morning for breakfast and then throughout the day. Evening activities also provided go-to options for seeing the city and meeting people. The staff was helpful and friendly and made check in/check out very easy! Luggage storage, making suggestions, booking a ride to the airport (flat rate slightly better than uber/lyft), etc. Would definitely recommend this hostel!

I have never ever been at a hostel but this was hands down the best experience, super friendly people. The whole house was just soo clean. lets not forget the people u meet, house was filled with many characters. The restroom clean all day, they even have shampoo if u forgot urs. This place is great to meet new people and just have fun, Our host Austin on our first night was just great he really help us out and just really give us great vibes. if you looking for fun and not looking to spend a lot suggest this place. The only thing bad part would be the beds but i didnt care cause i was gonna be out more then just staying a bed all day.Other then that GREATTT

I felt like being in a hotel! The place was amazingly well decorated, the staff was incredibly nice, the parties they organized were awesome, the location was great and the place is really clean! I can´t say anything bad about this place!

I loved this place! I'm 35 but it made me feel like I was sleeping over at my friend's house. It's so homely and has so many nice touches. I've been travelling for 10 months and this is without a doubt the homeliest place ive stayed. The staff are incredible - my partner was feeling under the weather so wasn't feeling like partying and Ellie made me feel so at ease and comfortable. I soon forgot I'd only met the people around me a few hours before. They have nice touches like moisturiser in the bathrooms and toiletries if you've forgotten anything. Also the staff never stop cleaning so the place is immaculate. There are activities everynight which are great fun. Great place - this is a party hostel though so if you don't want to party stay elsewhere.

Very good location just one block from the streetcar, it always felt like it was safe to walk around. They provide extras in case you forgot your shampoo, soap, etc... It was very clean and well organized, you could keep things in the fridge and cook. The breakfast provided was good unless you don't eat carbs, but it did have a variety. The Staff was very helpful and were always polite but I want to especially recommend Austin and Elyas. They were so nice and really seemed to want to get to know you, definitely made me give this review the full 5 stars.

Positives: Friendly staff (a Latino girl in particular who really tried to make every guest feel special), a clean hostel - floors, surfaces, bathroom, kitchen etc. were always kept clean and tidy, great breakfast - 'make your own' pancakes (delicious), complimentary coffee and tea throughout the day which was great, I liked the small touches...e.g. complimentary moisturiser in the bathrooms. Great location. Negatives: It was a bit too much of a party hostel for me. Every night I was there (for 3 nights) there was a huge party going on both inside and in the bark yard...literally like a teenagers house party. Around 7/8pm people would start drinking and it would be incredibly noisy right up until the early hours of the morning! What I didn't like was that many of the guests drank with the intention of getting soppy drunk. Hence why I said 'like a teenagers house party'. So many of the guests would come home at sometime in the morning (maybe 2am or so) and make no effort to be quiet. I spoke to a few of the others in my dorm and they are seemed to have come to the hostel just to party (many of them literally slept in until midday the next day, then sat around watching TV for hours (whilst I was out exploring the city!). So I would say that this hostel may not be suitable to those who are not big drinkers (like myself). Also, there was an electronic code to get into my dorm. This was completely pointless as no one (the other guests) ever bothered to shut the door! What is the point of having a security door if people are so inconsiderate that they don't bother to close it! The staff would also barge into the dorm at anytime (without so much as a knock on the door) and also wouldn't bother to close the door...so I felt like I had no privacy.

Most amazing hostel I have ever stayed in. Brilliant staff, very professional and maintained a very clean hostel. Beds were extremely comfy. Also amazing complimentary breakfast; pancakes, cereal and more. Couldn’t have asked for a better stay.

Just everything you could possibly want from a hostel! Really clean, location was great and they organise things every evening which makes meeting other people really easy. Thanks for the great few days! Luca.
