Reasonably priced hotel, but seems to be not very "accommodating"/flexible, wanting extra $'s for the extra's. Clearly a mass-tourist hotel, not focused on delighting their guests. When asking for a room upgrade when we checked in, if any were available, only willing to do if pay extra $. When asking for a slightly late checkout, wanted to charge extra $25 for a 1-hour later check out. Charge a resort daily fee, yet chairs and umbrellas on the beach are expensive, unless one has spent $49 on food at the restaurant -disappointing.

Hotel is greatly located , rooms are nice, restaurant was easy to use for breakfast.

The "maniana" attitude is ruling here and the hotel staff just don't give a s**t about anything you ask. There was no hot water in our rooms!!! Imagine that after a 15 hour intercontinental trip... No other solution was offered. New level of poor customer service We asked in advance for an early check in and got no response - either yes or no. Lobby looks great - rooms are outdated. Probably the worse RIU operated property you could visit.

Good location but I wouldn’t stay there again. I hate the character minimum on your reviews. Will not do one again

Very well located, nice hotel on the beach. You can simply walk out through a small gate at the back of the hotel - and enjoy the sand and the sea. Dinners were excellent. New Year's Eve dinner was simply fabulous. Breakfasts are excellent for a US hotel (would be average in Europe). Most of the staff are nice and helpful. But we had some unpleasant experience - did not have enough towels in the room and called the front desk three times with half an hour intervals and got no towel... We did not like the check in - we were not told much about our options and the receptionist had difficulties with using two different credit cards for payment. (And I had difficulty understanding her English accent...) The air conditioner in our room was very loud but could not reduce room temperature. Thanks god it was winter and did not really bother us. At public places - e.g. the corridor - the air conditioning was freezing. The hotel does not have enough elevators for the number of rooms. People were trying to use the service elevator... I felt sorry for the hotel staff who were just trying to do their job but could not enter the service elevator because it was packed with tourists. Overall, I would be happy to stay in this hotel again when I am in Miami Beach :)

we got beach side room on 4thfloor with beachview. That was excellent and pleasant surprise for the price we paid. Room was appropriate sized for 2 people and clean. To my greatest dissppointment here was no shampoo!! When we asked the staff they didnt seem t have great idea about shampoo. We used bathgel. They didn't have toothpaste either. Majority of staff didnt know english, which is very dissppointing for international hotel. They didnt even know what swimwear means! They had hard time understanding simple and clear instructions. Like room number.

Nice hotel good buy for the money. Pool and beach were clean and nice. Breakfast buffet wasn’t the best.

This is an excellent hotel right on the beach but it is north of all the South Beach craziness so it is relatively quiet. The pool area and restaurants are amazing and definitely has a resort feel to it, not just a hotel. I would highly recommend this Resort and I'm planning on going back in a couple months. Thank you Riu

Nice hotel, very good breakfast and dinner, good pool, and very near beach!!!!

Nice hotel close tp the beach. Was able to checkin early, like 10am early (major plus). We had come off a 5 day cruise and it was my bday. The staff all wished me a happy birthday and gladly checked me in early.

Only thing nice about this hotel is that it was close to a beach hotel staff needs to learn to speak better English, front desk staff English was terrible then got an attitude because we couldn’t understand her!

Amazing affordable hotel. Great area and right on the beach

I was staying at the 10th floor rained all week roof started leaking everywhere ventilation system went down on the hallways stank like mildew construction all week they didn't even make an effort to change our room, mind you we where next to the room that got damaged by the rain sounded like construction everywere, plastering the walls and all that. Then they put a sign that they where remodeling ha. Huge puddle right in front of the hotel you have to take off your shoes and roll up your jean's is the only way in the hotel if your walking or just getting of the public transportation. When it rains no satellite no TV. No room service, no vending machine , and to get ice you have to go to certain floors. No music by the pool nothing, nada zero. Called for maid service to mop the floor early in the morning my wife got sick and thru up on the floor, they did not come till the afternoon, by that time I had cleaned it. Due to the construction they placed a hotel security person sitting by our room I guess to make sure no one got injured with all that was going on in that floor, well he wouldn't stop yapping even by late evening. Absolute loss than zero stars for this hotel. Staff was very friendly.

Booked this on-line for Miami Yacht show. Had very low expectations, as any hotel can look nice with staged pics. It was great! Beautiful lobby, nice pool area, right on the beach. 10 blocks from the show. Front desk was very responsive, especially Fernando Davile. And I'm not much on hotel restaurants, especially buffets, but this was exceptional. Good selection, nice atmosphere and relatively cheap ($29), especially for Miami Beach. One suggestion. Impossible to contact hotel by phone ahead of time. No phone number listed anywhere. Finally found a number for RIU corporate and they gave me a non-working number. I wanted to make sure they had valet parking, as I came by car.

Staff needs basic training in service. No one smiles no one greats you with a good morning. You have to approach them for help. Even when you wait patiently and they finish with the previous customer they don't look up. Pool staff was more interested in speaking to themselves and on a busy pool day only 1 waitress. Who also didn't smile or want to help my small party of 4. I enjoyed the pool the beach and the boardwalk. Hotel hallways are a bit run down.

The only staff that was really helpful was at the cafe and valet parking. Unfortunately, front desk lady was rude at check . Miami was cold and the rooms have no heating and the pool was freezer cold. The hotel could invest in a pool warmer and at least provide with extra covers. The room was freezing cold.

staff needs .ore training on customer service. 2 days requesting wake up calls and got None.

We stayed at the RIU after returning from a cruise. Hotel and Pool area was very nice. Beach front near hotel was not suitable for children to play.
