Gave me a room without a window! It was dirty. Ceiling was peeling off. Shower had mold.
Revolving door isn't very "automatic". It goes by itself halfway, then you have to push while it yells at you to " move forward". Pool was icy cold, hot tub was too hot. Elevator wasn't working right when we arrived. Fixed later.
We had to leave a day early because my husband was sick. Of course you can't get your money back which i don't think is great for a hotel to do. Everything was very expensive and when we checked in the staff wasn't very friendly.
Very nice hotel beautiful lobby with indoor swimming pool and gym. Very friendly staff
Silly hotel policy -- base cost estimate assume 1 guest only. A wife, a child, etc will incur an extra fee. What a gouge. Check-in was fine, room was fine. Public spaces of hotel were dirty. Elevators, hallways needed to be vacuumed and trash removed. meeting room area had sticky floors and filthy rest rooms. Disappointment overall.
The room was a good size, but overall quality wasn't quite what I'm used to at the other brand I usually stay at. It was slightly outdated and some of the furniture seemed to have a bit of damage, but it's really nothing that would stop me from staying there again. It was about 5 minutes from my client and 15 minutes from the airport, with lots of restaurants and shopping nearby.
Over Priced for what it was and don't [plan on ever staying there again unless nothing else is available near Madison
We were not impressed with our hotel stay. We were visiting colleges and wanted a centrally located hotel. Location was fine but the room was very small and seemed older and in need of updates. Very basic. The complimentary shampoo, conditioner & lotion had been used and the caps were even full of old dried up residue. I would not stay at this hotel again. Not a horrible experience... just not the quality worth spending my money on.
Quite surprised at how nice this hotel really is. I haven't stayed at a Crowne Plaza for some years because they seem to care about their hotels. Only stayed here because friends were already booked. Will defininately stay here again.
Experience was excellent Temperature of rooms seemed to fluctuate, but staff was accommodating and helpful
I had paid extra for the breakfast buffet. The buffet was delicious but they made it known to leave gratuity. There were two people including me and I was without a drink several times. When I left I saw my waitress hanging with the front desk staff. There is no complimentary breakfast, so I paid. No place for me to get water myself. SECOND I went up to my room to nap with my Do not Disturb sign up. It was 10am and check out in noon. Housekeeping ignored the sign and knocked and came in. I live in the same town and was testing it for a big group. They wont be going there.
It was very nice but tv remotes didnt work n restrunts dishes were dirty when they served my food
First room had faulty air conditioner...with temps outside around 100 degrees! Maintenance man was wonderful in getting us another room but, hotel staff made no offer to assist moving luggage to room on other side of hotel. Also, staff made little or no effort to accommodate us for our troubles.
My son love the swimming pool and the room is very comfortable. The hotel is very adjacent to the downtown as well as the shopping center very convenient.
I was in Madison for a 1 night stay while attending a conference at the University. I stayed at the Crowne Plaza as the website had wonderful pictures and it was close to alot of resturants, shops, etc. The room I had was one of the worst, if not the worst rooms. The carpet was filthy and there was a huge circle cutout in the middle of the room that they replaced with carpet that was not the same color and didn't secure very well. There was a horrible, loud, and constant squeal of a noise outside the room. After 3 hours of this noise and 3 calls to the front desk along with a trip to the front desk, they decided that there was nothing they could do about the noise. [...]. Firs they said the noise was the dryers and that "in a few hours" they would shut them off (it was 9pm). Then at 11pm they said that they were still working on shutting the dryers off. Then at midnight the maintenance staff was in the ceiling of the hallway as the noise was not the dryers. After an hour of him making a ton of noise and keeping the whole hallway awake did they decide that they did not know where the noise was from. [...]. Their solution to the problem, COMPLIMENTARY ear plugs. I could hear the noise over the volume of my tv. At 1am I put the earplugs in, turned the tv volume up a bit (as everyone else was doing as well) and tried to sleep. Needless to say, 5am I was wide awake. I know that I am not the only one to complain as the rooms around me also did. It was TERRIBLE!! The managers did not seem to care about customer service. I will not be returning there and will not give it one positive review. I normally stay at the Double Tree by the UW and will be returning there in the future!!
Nice quite hotel. My seminar was right at this hotel so everything was very convenient and facilities were great.
average hotel but staff was pleasant. many restaurants and a mall across the street.very busy area but quiet inside hotel.
Stayed at the Crown Plaza while on business in Madison. I picked it for it's proxomity to the airport and the relaibility of Crowne Plaza hotels. From the shuttle driver's friendly pick-up to the use of a dedicated business area for my early (4.20am) check-in, this hotel did not fail to satisfy what little comfort demands I had for a woman travelling on business alone. Clean, safe, excellent and friendly staff, just enough luxury to get past the expense report(!), a good wine selection and great fitness facilities; suffice to say I would definitely stay here again.
Very nice location by the mall and bus stop. Made for easy access to State Street!
I always try to stay at Crowne Plaza's because I think they are great hotels set at a reasonable price. The staff was really friendly, the hotel was quiet and clean with really comfortable beds and the elevators were fast! There is a GREAT Indian restaurant close by -- Mahajara Restaurant. Really great food and friendly staff there as well. I would definitely recommend anyone to stay at this Crowne Plaza.
