Positive: The check in staff was pleasant, the bed was decent and the towels were fresh. My issues are with the condition of the building and our room. There were short dark hairs in our tub upon check in (that were not not ours). The ice machine was broken. There were 3 large trash bags piled in the hallway when we checked in that were in those exact spots when we checked out the next morning. We went to bed after 11pm and still could hear any time someone walked by our room's door and in the room above us. The restaurant and coffee kiosk weren't open the next morning when we checked out @7:30am. Our room had everything to make coffee - except cups. The buttons in the elevator worked f you tried them a few times. There was a crack in our ceiling that could be really repaired with some plaster. It was conveniently located near the Train station which is why we booked it however all these little but noticeable things if the owner just looked and invested in staff or the building/room itself.

Avoid this hotel

I stayed here for three nights on a solo visit to friends who live in the area. Although I frequently visit the Lowell region, I will not return to this hotel. The building is shabby, with many scuff marks along the hallways and broken door handles, and worn furniture in the room, etc. When I arrived, the room with the ice machine was blocked off because it flooded. My room was not cleaned well (as you can see in the photos) and the bathroom was pitiful: the sink's water pressure was a dribble and the shower's faucet was broken, causing me to cut myself. Additionally, the large parking lot appears to be used for various nefarious purposes after dark; I was given a parking pass for my car, but when I returned to the hotel at 10 PM, I saw many random cars with their engines running around the area. The next morning, a staff member appeared to be sleeping in her car before or after her shift (and let me just say, I'm sorry that is her situation). The breakfast is wildy overpriced -- $13 for a microwaved egg sandwich. I appreciate that the service was friendly enough so I contacted both the property and Hotels.com for a refund instead of posting something. The hotel refused to grant it. This honest review is the result. It's a bad hotel, y'all, avoid.

We chose this hotel for three specific reasons, proximity to the Lowell Folk Festival, Price and that it had a pool. In this instance the pool was the most important feature. It's Summer, it's hot and the festival began at noon and lasted until ten pm or so. Our plan was to attend the festival, enjoy music and around 5pm check in and enjoy the pool for an hour to cool off before returning to the event. Upon check-in we were told the pool wouldn't be available until Sunday, the morning we were checking out, something about having chemicals added, etc. The folk festival was a lot of fun, the room was excellent, great water pressure and air conditioning. I know sometime things are out of our and a hotel's control, we managed to make the best of the situation. Would we stay there again? Yes, but if one of the main reasons for staying was access to a pool, I guess we'd call ahead on day of check in to make sure there were no issues.

The beautiful pool (in the photos) are completely misleading. The pool is disgusting, has a green ting to the water that leads me to believe the chemical levels aren't checked. There was brown slimy algea all over the pool bottom and it looks as though they havent skimmed the pool or ran the vacuum in atleast a month. I chose this hotel specifically for the pool.

Not what I expected

Breakfast was not included though the site said continental bf was included. Our tv had black spots on the screen. The pool was Green in the deep end but water seemed clean enough. Coffee in room could be better but they did sell coffee at front desk
