I found it odd that there was no hand wash towels in the bathroom?

Always a pleasure to come back to this hotel, offers just what I need for a quick visit to London.

This supposedly 4 star hotel was not as nice (much worse) than many 3 star hotels that I've stayed at. My room was small and hardly any light came in through the windows as they were facing another wall. On the day we were supposed to check out, it felt like they were trying to kick us out early as the cleaning service tried to come into our room twice before 9am while we were still sleeping. Also, there was no 'do not disturb' card available to put on the door which was irritating.

Great location. They have a real king sized beds in rooms with king size beds.

I have stayed here many times. The hotel is in a great location. The rooms are comfortable, with comfortable bed and nice bed linens, nice sized bathrooms, and decent size room. My main complaint is that the front desk staff are unfriendly. Seldom is one greeted when one walks in (besides when checking in), and on a number of occasions I said hello a front desk staff person, and he looked at me and didn't respond. I don't need lengthy exchanges, but it would be nice to feel that they actually want you there.

Staff not terribly friendly, but everything else is great.

Cozy hotel in a great location. The rooms are comfortable, nice bed and linens. Rain shower and heated towel rail in the bathroom. Nice breakfast and very friendly and attentive staff in the breakfast room. The front desk staff are not very friendly and very seldom greet you (after you have checked in). More friendly front desk staff would make that much of a difference.

Overall, I rate my experience as "okay". Not bad, not great, just okay. Although the room was clean, it was small even by European standards. We had a room with 2 twin beds and there wasn't even enough space to leave both suitcases open -- I had to go into my suitcase and then close it back and stand it up to be able to move around. Luckily it was only for 1 night -- I couldn't imagine staying in that room any longer than that. Staff was nice -- I had booked the room, but my sister arrived before me and they let her check-in before I got there, so that was appreciated. But we did notice that a room service tray was sitting outside of a room on the floor our entire one night stay -- no one bothered to pick it up or move it, so that was a little tacky.

I've stayed here a few times. Nothing special. The shower drain in my room was backed up.

Hotel situated in the heart of london. Walked from the hotel to most attractions. Enjoyed my stay

Having experienced others hotels in London,the Thistle is our favourite one not only for its comfort but also for its location.

The rooms and hotel were lovely. The room got very warm at night almost as if the air was turned off. The staff could have been nicer especially in the bar and front desk. But...the hotel was very clean and lovely.

Nice hotel in a great location. Staff is friendly and helpful.
