The Harrington

Recent guest reviews

The Harrington is in an excellent location. Great area near the Tube (3 lines) with neighborhood amenities and restaurants. We were able to walk to museums, Harrods and Kensington Gardens. Room was spacious and it was nice having the kitchen for breakfast. Reception was responsive to fixing missing lights and problems with the safe.

At first I was pleased by the attractive, contemporary decor and the pleasant staff, as well as the huge (for London) rooms. I already knew it was a great location close to museums, tube, etc. I had a one-bedroom for 9 nights and from day one the unbelievably small (even for London!) lift didn't entirely work. I thought it would be fixed soon, but at no time did it ever entirely work. I always had to go to the 5th floor and walk down, although I could ride down to the Lobby from the 4th floor. Other things didn't work, either, such as the in-room safe, which was also neglected for several days even though 3 people tried to get it to work right after I arrived (while I needed to shower and change my clothes). The whole time I was there they were also out of bar soap. But the staff was always friendly and I was so busy every day outside of the hotel I didn't bother to complain. I'll just book at another place next time.

Overall, a very good experience: pros - less than a minute walk from Gloucester Tube station and from Grocery, Restaurants; renovated within past 6 months or so. Cons - basement room at least can be a bit cold in cold season as heating seemed to be slow at heating room up; free wifi internet connection was problematic this last time, though I there was no such problem 6 months ago at 1st stay. Enjoyed the mini-suite type room. Second time staying here in 6 months, visiting from the US.

good location, located just a few steps from the underground. Good value.

i think the guy giving the 5 stars had too many pints. hotel is under construction so its a bit of a mess in the lobby. walls are super thin so you will get to know your neighbors. location is good as you are close to the tube

The "hotel" is actually an apartment building. Rooms have kitchen, bath and bedroom that are comfortable and well kept. Rooms are cleaned daily. "Staff" consists of one person at the entrance. They were all very nice and very helpful in every way (arranging travel, information and fixing things). Located one block from Gloucester Road Tube stop.

One block from Underground station, grocery store, multiple restaraunts of all types, lots of shops and bus stops. Apartment was clean, modestly furnished but pretty much everything we needed. Beds and bedding were comfortable. Had difficulty accessing the wireless internet for the first couple of days, but that was fixed after addressing it with the front desk. We would stay there again and recommend it to our friends.

location is excellent. very close to Gloucester Rd tube station. very good amenities. spacious kitchen and living area. free wifi spotty. I sat by the entrance door to get good reception. elevator was tiny. staff were not consistent. some very knowledgeable about tourist areas and how to get about, others were not. This is an excellent choice for those who can get around London and want an apartment to live in. I would stay there again having learned how to use the subway and train system.

I am very concerned about cleanliness and was worried after reading a few of previous reviews. I found the kitchen and entire apartment to be very clean. I even observed a maid polishing the silver fire extinguisher in the hallway. I thought the king bed was comfortable-but it was 2 twins pushed together. i didn't care for the plastic mattress cover, but we removed it and it was fine. The elevator is only for 3 people, so families would want to keep this in mind. The location was close to the tube and you could walk to get groceries or to eat. Lots of good restaurants nearby. I was concerned that our key was within reach of anyone if the staff left the front desk- which they did do on occasion and left a sign. My husband just got our key himself when we returned from Paris very tired one night. That concerned me as far as safety. However, we later heard that the staff on call caught up to our teens up the stairs and asked if we had our key. Still, this might be a big concern for a person traveling alone.

This hotel is fine. The staff are friendly. The rooms are nice. On the flip side. The lift is tiny and slow. The decor is a bit tired and the bathroom smelled a bit. I had to go to another hotel to book a meeting room, Nevertheless free internet, nice appartment, great location, great staff. This makes up for it all. b

Staff was kind and helpful, rooms were clean and well serviced with better quality amenities, clean nicer bathroom and kitchen, comfortable bed in fairly quiet neighborhood.

Hotel is in great location, one block from Gloucster station. clean well stocked supermarket down the block from hotel. staff were very helpful, knowledgeable and polite. near victoria and albert museum. good restaurants which were expensive. we ate in a lot to save money. kitchen was well stocked and if there was something we needed the staff obtained it for us. I would highly recommend this hotel. it's a great value for the cost. it's not easy to find a good hotel deal in London.

Separate kitchen/living room was ideal - cooking is much cheaper than eating out in London.

We loved the location. Only 5 mins walk from Gloucester Tube stop. Plenty of places to eat around there. It was very quite. Room and bathroom where clean and spacious.

Very pleasant stay overall. Have special dietary requirements so the kitchen was essential to our trip. Centrally located. Hop on and hop off sight seeing tour available next the tube stn. Worthy. The hotel was very good overall. Would definitely stay there again. Location is perfect. Staff friendly and helpful. So much to see and do. Only real complaint was that the noise from the adjoining room was not great for 2 or 3 nights. Then all was okay.

Very convenient location next to TUBE station, pub, grocery store, and restaurants. Clean room with great housekeeping service. Air conditioning made noise at times and was not resolved during our stay. Great value package through Orbitz and would definitely stay at this location again. Room is small compared to US standard. Mini kitchen that allowed us to save money by having breakfast each morning and ability to make and take lunches each day. We did eat dinner out each night but possible to make meal in room.

The location of this hotel was very good. Very convenient to the tubes and several restaurants.

Spacious rooms. Great location within walking distance of many attractions and an easy underground ride to the rest. Having a small kitchen allows you to have breakfast in your room without going out everyday, though it would be nice if they had a coffee maker.
