Stayed here last minute through business. Room was a decent size and tastefully decorated, finished to a high standard. Room service was delicious - they didn’t have the wine I ordered so bought me an even nice one for the same price. Would t hesitate to stay again.

Perfect location close to the Kings Road, shops, restaurants, museums all very close. Rooms very clean, everything you could need, just perfect for a couple of days in London. Would definitely return. Highly recommend

Fantastic place to stay with wonderfully friendly staff. Everything clean and comfortable. Couldn't fault it. Will definitely recommend to friends and will have no hesitation to stay again when in the Chelsea area.

This is a lovely little hotel in Chelsea. The staff were wonderfully welcoming, friendly and helpful, and the room was clean and fashionably sparse. It is well located for the major museums and only a very short walk from South Kensington station. We would both highly recommend this hotel and its highly professional reception staff.

I found the hotel in the interweb and it looked very nice, as it was. I was working next door at the Royal Marsden so it was a perfect choice. Close to South Ken tube as well. If I have to go back to the Royal Marsden I'll stay there again.

Located near South Kensington tube station, museums, and other attractions. Very clean room, quiet with double windows - we didn't hear any nose from the street. Friendly, helpful staff. Would definitely stay again!

Sydney house happened to be in just the right spot for where I needed to be. We had a lovely large room with good en suite facilities. Great toiletries, comfortable bed and linen. Ladies on reception where welcoming and friendly.

We used this as a stop over during treatment at The Royal Marsden Hospital, Chelsea. It is a short walk, welcoming , obliging, well-appointed and quiet. There is no restaurant but the room service menu was adequate for our needs. The lift is tiny, genuinely for two people

The Sidney House and I kind of started the wrong foot, but things perked up quickly. I travelled specifically for a doctor's appointment the next day, at Brompton Hospital, conveniently a 3 min. walk. I entered the hotel tired, irritated from the trip and traffic, also with an extra chest cold -courtesy of the flight. Reception called "weird" my printed voucher stating breakfast was included in the price of the room, but they said they will check and there were no further issues with that. In the room: Alelouia, hot tea AND espresso machine(the good stuff). Heating did not work properly. Sneeze and shiver. Had to call reception twice. Knock on door, saviour angel of a smiling young man appears with portable heater. Room tiny, so it got from chilly to toasty in minutes and stayed warm throughout the night. Everything went uphill from then on. Super quiet room. Spotlessly clean. Had a bit of fun struggling between freezing and boiling in the shower (time for a battery change at 201?) but than again, this is England, and this is a converted heritage building, let us not judge it so harshly. Wifi worked like a charm. Sleep was super comfortable. Next morning I had the English brekkie, had to pay a bit extra for the extravaganza, just a few pounds over the standard continental. Money well spent. I love the fact that they cook your breakfast from scratch in the kitchen, and personally serve everything: no faceless pre-cooked buffet- this is a boutique hotel that respects its boutiqueness! The management offered me an extra- gracious late checkout and I can not thank them enough for this. As I had to do some work in the afternoon, I found the small sitting room and "little big common room", both in the lobby, inviting, ergonomic and convenient: Extremely friendly and helpful lady in the reception gave me a discreet overlook of the hotel company's profile (apparently they run heritage b+b's all over the country and specialize in that niche of the market). I am pretty sure I will visit The Sidney House with my husband next time we travel in London. We would love to reserve the roof- top room with the open- air veranda. I hear it is booked solid during spring and summertime, however, if we plan wisely, there is a good chance to nail it for a long weekend during the winter time and feel like the kings of Chelsea. All in all, despite an awkward(ish) start, I have to thank you, "Sidney House" for having personality, discretion, comfort, in-room espresso, flexibility and respect for your guests-even the disgruntled, sneezing overnighters.

Having tried many boutique hotels in Chelsea & Kensington over the years i can say Sydney House is by far the best we've visited. Just a five minute walk from South Kensington station and with access to lots of bars & restaurants in easy walking distance. From the moment we arrived we were greeted warmly and able to check straight into our room (3 hours before official check-in time). Our room was averagely sized by London standards but clean, well decorated and nice and quiet at the rear of the building. We'd booked a package which came with a complimentary bottle of prosecco which we enjoyed in the lounge area of the hotel later in the day. We had a great nights sleep, which i find is not always easy in London hotels, followed by a delicious breakfast in a well presented dining room. All the staff throughout our stay were polite and accommodating, i have only knocked off one mark for the room due to a minor bit of maintenance in the bathroom where the bath panel could have done with re-grouting but other than that 5 out of 5 across the board. We'll definitely be returning.
