Hotel is so cool - so modern and high tech, clean and sleek. It's also well priced for being so luxe. The room is very small (which we knew going in), but being that we were in a big city like London, we did not need a lot of space as most of the day was spent out and about in the City. The hotel is in a great area and has access to a gorgeous garden which everyone should see- even if just for a few minutes (We had our morning coffee there one day). It's about a 10 minute walk to Buckingham Palace. Reception was kind and helpful - they helped us order in pizza as we landed in London late after room service had ended. The staff was great, hotel was lovely. Would definitely stay here again.
Eccleston Square Hotel has great modern rooms, carefully designed and well kept up. The exterior consists of two 19th-century townhouses, but everything else has been redone. It is well kept up over the last few years. The location just great: near Victoria Station but on a wonderful old square, although the green is private as many old London squares are. There are great high-end cafes and restaurants over Buckingham Palace Rd, and it a medium walk to Sloane Square and Chelsea. The rooms are small but well arranged; the bathroom is also tight but it works, and all the finishes are high end. The room was very quiet. Others: I don't want chatty staff and a free breakfast in a big city like London: just get out where there's better stuff to do.
I'll start out by telling all this is not a 5 star hotel as advertised on Priceline.com. I did however like the idea of the "high tech" novelties the hotel offered, especially the lighting and bed. My biggest complaint is room size, there truly isn't any place to hang clothes other than a small space in the mini closet and storing your luggage out of the way was impossible. None would fit under the bed due to the motorized components of the mattress. You have to literally live out of your suit cases and step over them while in the room. As much as I wanted to rave about this place I just couldn't see coming back unless they had suites that offered double the room. Both my girlfriend and I agreed that our bathroom at home is quite a bit larger than the entire hotel room with a king size bed somehow squeezed in. As for location, it was great and is a "picture perfect" location. Plenty of restaurants and tourists sites are within walking distance.
We arrived at 15.20 hours and had to wait 15 minutes for our room to be ready, when it states on the confirmation email check in is from 14.00. We did have a beer on the house whilst we waited. The room was lovely, really comfy bed and linen. Lots of gadgets and a great TV. I was really impressed with the room. Apart from the 'free' mini bar which consisted of two bottles of lager, one of which was alcohol free!!!! Whats that all about? A couple of cans of pop and two bottles of water. A poor 'free' mini bar. Downstairs was rather confusing, the 'bar area' is basically a small dining room with a massive tv, in my opinion it's not really a bar area. The staff appeared to be disjointed and not knowing who was supposed to be doing what. If the downstairs were better organised I would consider returning, sadly though I don't think I would book again. The room was impressive but I also like somewhere a bit bigger and better organised throughout the hotel.
Amazing staff from booking to arrival but beware their freebie minibar (at the time of booking -pic shows much more) is two lagers and a couple cans of cola. Not worth their direct book. Cosy (!) convenient hotel but don't get caught in the small stuff.
I stayed in this hotel for 3 nights while on a business trip. The hotel staff were polite and very helpful towards any requests I had. The room was clean and very high tech! I didn't stay for the breakfast so I cannot comment on that specifically however overall I was really happy and would recommend this hotel.
My 16 year old son said it was best hotel he's ever stayed in (he is quite well travelled and just back from Dubai). As the stay in London was a treat for GCSE results this was a bonus. Amazingly comfortable electronic massage bed, very quiet, modern minimalist decor (dark wood/mirrors/marble). Great shower with 3 different heads, tv in bathroom, electronic blackout curtains/blinds. Room controls operated by an ipad and mobile phone for use during visit, big TV with Sky channels. Good location near Victoria, friendly staff, didnt have breakfast so cant comment on that. Only issue for me as an avid tea drinker was no kettle in the room, you had to call reception for tea to be brought up although there was a coffee machine. Not ideal at 7am when you wake up in need of a cuppa especially if you dont want to disturb a sleeping teen and wait for room service.
Spent 2 nights here and loved it! The rooms look brand new and have a really stream lined look and feel. Comfy beds, fabulous shower (3 different shower head to choose from) and really great location (4 minute walk to Victoria Station underground)made this a perfect choice. The staff here, though, are the real reason to stay here. Attentive, friendly, accommodating and very helpful: we stayed one night, left for 2 nights and came back for another night. They held on to our extra bags for us, no charge, and called to let us know we had forgotten our passports in the safe...YIKES!...and held them safely for us until we returned. I will stay here again and highly recommend it to all my friends. Truly a great travel experience.
Love the idea of the high tech hotel, but unsure if the market it caters to actually exists. We were upgraded on arrival, and in all honesty the room was pretty small. Gadgets and gizmos a plenty, but did we usr any if them....no. Probably great for a business stay but would the cost make this feasible? Probably not. Enough room for a couple staying for longer than a night? Again, probably not.
We absolutely adored this hotel! The front desk was very accommodating and helpful. The beds are extremely comfortable and I fell in love with the faux fur blanket on them. My fiancé absolutely enjoyed the tech features including the glass changing from clear to opaque and the iPad.
