Excellent service, comfy if a wee bit small room, good toilet/shower facility and a freshly cooked breakfast to set you up for the day. Only problem I had was I was in a front facing room, right above a take away, that was open until 3am. Roasting hot so open window required, had to shut it and sweat because of the noise of customers and traffic.
This hotel is very well run and all of the staff were very helpful. They have a left luggage facility which I always find very helpful. Room was basic but very clean, with tea/coffee making facilities and a hairdryer. The rooms are not large, but enough for a one or two night stay. This hotel is very well situated just across the road from the Chalk Farm tube station, and is ideal if you are attending shows at the Roundhouse (1 minute away) or Dingwalls (10 minutes away). Due to the location on a very busy road it can be a little noisy. Breakfast can be provided in their coffee shop below the hotel for £6 if required. Overall a decent hotel for the price in this area.
Good location over the road from Chalk Farm Underground. Room was clean but very very noisy at night, due road traffic and pub over the road. Due to the noise you couldn't have the window open, so it got rather hot during the night. WiFi was also very poor.
Good location over the road from Chalk Farm Underground. Room was clean but very very noisy and small. Our room was overlooking the main road. Bathroom tiny. Decent coffee shop attached. Staff friendly.
The Camden Lock Hotel turned out to be a well run establishment, with very friendly and helpful staff that gave it energy. It lacks sophistication and refinements, such as air conditioning (which was very noticeable on a hot summers day and night), a telephone service and a lift (3 floors), that you would expect from more expensive hotels - but it is a very well priced alternative. My room (twin beds) was clean, offered free Wifi and was a comfortable size, as was the adequately supplied en suite. The hotel's integral café is available for breakfast as required and has a very relaxed atmosphere for spending down time, if and when required. It is a short underground ride into town. Camden itself boasts a good selection of eateries and supermarkets/markets and carries off life within a vibrant and safe environment.
It takes 2 minutes from chalk farm station to hotel. We went through the café door bur reception is at side.Very friendly staff who try to make your stay enjoyable.Found the hotel to be clean throughout.Stayed in a twin room on first floor and more than met our needs.Clean glasses on tray with kettle cups etc.Spacious bathroom and lovely soft towels. Can be a bit noisy on high street so ask for a back room but did not bother us as tired out anyway.would definitely stay here again.
Lovely small but friendly hotel sitting on top of a very pleasant coffee shop Very friendly and helpful staff, rooms clean and tidy with everything required Very nice cooked breakfast in the morning from the coffee shop with other options available Hotel overlooks Chalk Lane high street about 100m from Chalk Lane tube station and a 5 min walk to Camden stables market Excellent value for money Would stay again and recommend
Stayed here recently as it was close to a venue we were seeing our favourite band at. Hotel was clean. Beds were comfortable, the was no noise. The room was a good size for a twin and the staff were lovely. Highly recommend this hotel if your looking to stay somewhere close to Camden and somewhere cheap!
Stayed here for 2 nights for the Camden rocks festival. Perfect location for the tube and the centre of Camden. Looks a bit dated outside but rooms were lovely. Basic in decor but clean with comfy bed, tea/coffee facilities and tv. Staff very helpful and friendly. Would stay here again x
I and my boyfriend Manuel stayed at the Camden Lock four nights to attend the Desertfest 2017. We booked trough the festival website and the price was pretty cheap, so we didn't expect such a great hotel, but actually we had a super nice experience :) I would definitely recommend the hotel to anyone: rooms are big enough, very functional and most of all they're cleaned daily; en-suit bathrooms are pretty nice too and we definitely appreciated the kettle with cups, tea bags and Nescafè. Also, you can't find a better location: the nearest metro station, Chalk Farm, can actually be seen from your room window, Sainsbury's just a minute away and you have Camden Town at your feet; perfect if you get to London with the Eurostar too, since St.Pancras is very close (it takes just a couple of metro stops to get there). Staff is super nice, helpful and very open about check-in and check-out times. Oh and you can get in and out at any time, day and night, and there will always be someone at the reception for you! I've been in London several times, at least seven I think, and this was definitely the best hotel (talking about price, location and rooms) I've stayed at. Anyone else complaining has to deal with the fact that if you pay this little money for a hotel in the heart of the City you can't get a five star resort of course (I personally wouldn't even want to spend that much money to sleep somewhere), but this is definitely a great place to stay at in London and a good way to value your money too. P.S. I really really appreciated the vegan and cruelty free shampoos, conditioner and gel douche, that's what I call customer (but also animals and environment;)) care!
