I gave 3 stars because the room was either too hot or too cold. I couldn’t get the temperature regulated. The bathroom as ice cold. Not heat at all. In the evening when I wanted to relax and watch some TV it only worked part of the time. Otherwise Staff was great and very helpful.

It’s always a pleasure to stay in Athena, this is actually my 3 time staying. And we love it. It’s close to every possible attractions you can think of. By train or walking. Plus the paddington stations it’s just 5 minute walking. Affordable price and clean place.

The hotel was in the midst of a remodel and unpermitted work. They were removing old lead-paint windows and leaving them in the hallway and fresh paint (and fumes) on walls. I was unable to stay there, and knew it immediately, but the property did not care and refused to give a refund even with an unused room. Apparently, ownership of this property has recently changed so don't trust any old reviews and avoid this place if you care about your health. I was forced to get a hotel for many times the amount of this one to have a place to stay for the night. Hotels.com was of no help, don't even try.

Had an amazing stay at Athena hotel. Room while small was incredibly functional and clean. Beds were very comfortable and hotel was well located, an easy walk to Paddington station where you can take the tube to anywhere within London. We look forward to coming back.

I was surprised to find a reasonably priced hotel in London and was dubious about what it would be like. But the reviews were pretty good so I decided to give it a go. The entrance was inviting and comfortable. The lady at the desk was absolutely lovely. Check in was easy. The room was clean. The bathroom was clean and modern. The bed was comfortable. I had plenty of space. The location was convenient and surprisingly quiet (I was on the second floor). Don't have anything bad to say about the place and will definitely use it again.

I stayed here for one night as London was a stopover between locations. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom was fine, and the check in staff was courteous and helpful. If that’s all you’re looking for in a hotel that’s a close walk to Paddington, this will work for you. If you want some amenities or to feel like you’re staying in a nice place, I’d look elsewhere. Good hotel for the money for a bed and a shower. I left too early for breakfast.
