We were given a room that had bees. They knew because former person who had that room told us. No A/C. But it was clean. We did ask for another room and were given a nice one (the last room) , missing light bulbs, was told tomorrow maintanence would take care. The general mgr did come and replaced two. He was the only staff person that we felt cared about the quality of the hotel. The others almost made it seem like "Oh, there is a problem? It must be your fault." The furnishings are old and worn but it was clean.

Hotel is very well located, however, the management and hotel conditions could be greatly improved.

Although the location is good (close to a metro station), the hotel leaves a lot to be desired. The rooms are hot without air conditioning; the carpet is old and dirty; the toilet did not flush. The staff was pleasant, but seemed to use their time making excuses for the inadequacies of the hotel.

First of all - GREAT LOCATION. In 2015 the hotel itself was really nice. Two years later, no a/c (we got a fan, they asked 10 pounds for portable a/c!), tv picture garbled, carpet needed cleaning, had to ask for toilet paper & flannel (wash cloth). The latter was never received. We were given a dinner for lack of a/c, but we had to ask. We were not given choices from the full menu and no starters/dessert. It's under new ownership since 2015.

We had a nice time in London .Hyde park was a cross the road.Kensington palace 20 min walk.London is one of the beautiful city in the world.Picaadilly street is something. We would like to come back!!

Right across from Hyde Park. Quaint hotel. Pleasantly surprised about its condition and how wonderful it was Loved the breakfast and location of this hotel. Was surprisingly quiet for its location as well Would highly recommend this

Everyone was very pleasant They were also very helpful about directions, etc. and the nice treats on the reception desk

This is an old building but is clean and comfortable. It has character. If you are looking for a piece of history then you'd like this hotel. It's not for those that are looking for a modern, corporate style hotel. We had issues finding the parking, which is accessed from a side street that leads behind the hotel. There was road construction being performed at the corner which compounded this and added noise the next morning. We still had an enjoyable stay.

Staff pleasant enough, room was on 1st floor facing street, city crews were using jackhammers during day so couldn't open windows with the noise, air-conditioning was inoperative, safe was inoperative, internet inoperative in room, staff said no other rooms were available until the next day. We said that with the heat and noise that was unacceptable. They said they had to get the managers approval to make a change but there was no manager on the property. After we threatened to leave they found a suite on the ground level. that room was certainly an improvement except it was a bit threadbare, wallpaper peeling, and we still had to go to the lobby for the internet.

Great place to stay! Located close to the Heathrow Express for getting into London and located close to Lancaster gate tube station for getting around London. We loved having Hyde Park across the street for the kids.

We visited this hotel with my wife. The room is small but very clean and nicely decorated. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Free WiFi:) Very close to metro stop. Highly recommend it.

Location is right on the Central Line, bed comfy, staff very nice. But room stuffy, breakfast bland, two maintenance issues, only one of which was resolved. Would not go back.

Excellent. Great location, very nice staff, good breakfast. This is my new go-to London hotel. The only small criticism I have is a bit of mold around the tiles in the shower. Otherwise, a flawless visit.

My wife and I had a very nice stay of 8 nights at the London Elizabeth in September. This is an aging property, without particular frills, but it's a very good budget choice (for London prices anyway). The hotel is around the corner from the Lancaster Gate tube stop and an easy walk to Paddington Station. The street it's on is busy and the extremely busy road along the top of Hyde Park/Kensington Gardens is just around the corner, so do yourself a favor as we did and request a room in the back. The walls are a bit thin regardless, but we never had any particular problem with sound. Our room was small, but not tiny. Everything was clean, although some of the decor was a bit worn. The room had a safe, a trouser press, a television (only 4 channels, but we didn't vacation in London to watch TV), and plentiful hot water (if anything the pressure was too high) at all times of day. The bathroom was very clean, and my only issue was with the shower, which was high and a bit difficult to clamber into, and then so slim that it was difficult to stay out of the shower curtain while showering. The continental breakfast was adequate: four kinds of pastry, cereals, two juices, toast, tea, coffee, hard-boiled eggs, yogurt, and mixed cut fruit. By the end of eight days, a little variation would have been welcome, as would a bit of cheese, but everything was always fresh and service was good. A full breakfast was available for 6 pounds more. We didn't eat in the restaurant otherwise. We got good help with restaurant recommendations from the concierge, and there are plenty of options in the neighborhood, particularly if you like Middle Eastern and Asian food. Several decent pubs were an easy walk away. Don't be mistaken: this isn't the Ritz, but they took good care of us and we never had an issue in eight days that required remediation. This is a solid budget option in a good location in a city of expensive hotels. I would stay again.

Let's just call it ok. The hotel is old - really old, which is common in London. That said, my room was fine but the double beds are just two singles pushed together. The elevator fits one person and runs slow enough that taking the stairs is faster. The carpeting in the rooms needs to be replaced but generally the place is pretty clean, despite the worn look. My colleague stayed in a double room with two beds but his room was smaller and he said the beds were awful. End of the day, I wouldn't stay here again. The location is okay, but there are lots of other good location places to chose from.

We were upgraded to a very nice suite. There is Wi-Fi, but no computers available should one not be traveling with a laptop. Good value for London. Great location next to Lancaster Gate Underground

Traveled all over London Room way too small, could barely turn in the bathroom Room needed fresh paint Check out was at noon and the staff started banging on the door at 9:00 am.

Very friendly, helpful staff. Clean, but old and worn furnishings. Great location, comfy bar, good value with included breakfast and free wifi (rare in europe!)

The London Elizabeth is a great value for the money. Don't expect the Ritz, but you can expect a friendly staff, a clean room, a nice restaurant and a bar that stays open late. Located just across the street from the Lancaster Gate underground station and three short blocks from Paddington Station, the hotel is a short ride to anywhere you'd want to go in London..... I will stay here again.....avoid ripoff prices closer to downtown. This is a great place to stay.

This is a quaint hotel with spectacular customer service. We travel frequently and are often disappointed with the friendliness of the staff. Not here. The staff is knowledgeable, and responsive to all our needs. The hotel is centrally located on Kensington park right across from Lancaster Gate. The bus and the tube are literally a few steps away. The food is top notch and reasonably priced. Try the bangers with mash and oinion gravy! The rooms are comfortable. This could be the best value hotel we have tried in London.
