Stayed in the apartments around the side of the hotel. The front staff, including the doorman were all great and attentive. The apartment was nicely set up for us with a kid beds set up in the living room and we could retire to our own room with bathroom & TV. The site is well positioned to venture out on foot to many key attractions, Hyde Park, Buckingham Palace etc.there is an M&S supermarket 100m away and the underground beneath it. Plenty of dining options around too. Had dinner in Gavin’s on site twice and although food was nice, service a bit disappointing. Had to wait over an hour for kids to get fed on NYE when hot dogs & nuggets had been ordered, then another hour for dessert for them. I find it real hard to relax til the kids are sorted and really shouldn’t have waited this long......plus I’m NYE stop taking the wine glasses away!

Just one word..... Amazing! From the moment my partner and I walked towards the hotel entrance the service was outstanding. The door was opened by a welcoming happy doorman who was well presented. Upon registering at reception we were received by a very nice gentleman called Philip... an absolute pleasure to deal with. Phiip showed us to our room and was very polite, helpful and a consummate professional. A credit to the hotel. The room was fantastic as were all the facilities and service. We went out for the evening and on returning our bed had been turned down and slippers put at the side of the bed! Overall a truely 5 Star Hotel. I will be returning! Thank you! :)

We stayed here for Christmas and it was a great choice. The rooms were lovely with a fab view. The staff were excellent and really helped make our stay a festive treat. We enjoyed the bar and the restaurant food was good. A thoughtful Christmas present from the hotel started the stay well and we definitely return.

Great hotel with very personable service - nothing is too much trouble for the staff. Afternoon tea was lovely - great selection of sandwiches and more cakes than you can ever eat. Location perfect - able to walk to all the sights, or just fun to stroll in Green Park opposite.

it is usually possible to fault a few things any place we stay at on our travels .. not here.. try as i might, we were met with kindness, friendly service, nothing was too much trouble for any staff member no matter what we needed..what an exceptional place !

We booked the Festive Break deal which gave us full breakfast and champagne afternoon tea. We arrived and were met by the doormen, who are excellent ,very professional and very happy to help with anything we required. At check-in we were upgraded by a very nice man to an apartment which was absolutely great, very large and in a quiet block at the side of the hotel with its own entrance. Wow we loved it! The afternoon tea was really good and the staff in the restaurant were lovely and nothing was too much trouble and the again we found the staff excellent at breakfast the next morning. Breakfast is really good at this hotel! We loved the bar and the cocktails were great, the barmen were very good and happy to advise on the drink menu! We also had some presents delivered to our apartment as part of the Festive deal which was lovely, thank you! All in all a fantastic stay yet again with great staff, even better than the last one and we will be booking again.

We stayed at the Athenaeum through choice, having stayed here on many occassions in earlier years, when I would have given it five stars. Sadly it was not as good as we remembered. Our room had a TV which only worked intermittently, and problems with heating and lighting. The reception area had been altered, and it was not as good as we remembered, although that may just be down to taste. We may just have been unlucky, but when one expects five stars and doesn't get them, it is slightly disappointing.

The hotel staff was nice to give us a room upgrade. It's located in between Green Park (where there is step free access, good for travellers with lots of lugguages) / Hyde Park Corner station. It takes 15min walk to each Harrods/ Regent Street.

I travel a lot and stay in some of the best hotels in the world though my line of work. Never have I experience such an intermit and genuine hospitality whist staying in such a luxurious hotel. Every single member of staff from the doorman to the waiting staff were genuinely amazing and went above & beyond consistently. The one thing that stood out the most and I absolutely loved was, when the doorman greeted us by saying 'Welcome Home". Because that exactly how the entire hotel staff made it feel.

We spent a repeat Christmas stay in this ideal home away from home, and was reminded how homely and comfortable the hotel is. All staff tried to make our 10 day stay a pleasure, and Philip at the front desk dressed me by name throughout our stay, Close to Winter Wonderland, and the West End, and perfect for daily walks in Green park. Christmas Lunch was superb, and quality and attention to detail of highest level. Well done team.
