The Queensbury Hotel

Classic hotel with a hint of elegance, rooms are very big, beds comfortable, lobby spacious. Our room was newly renovated. Loved having two dining choices in hotel during a very cold weekend. Prices are reasonable for room and dining.

The hotel is improving on rennovation but doesn't have its offer and services right. Example, complimentary internet is now throttled back to less than 1 mbps (unless one pays a rather pricey supplement) - apparently the hotel management is stuck in the year 2000. Insofar as hotel pricing is above comparative average of the area, getting comparative services for the business traveller right would be advisable.

I grew up in this region & the Queensbury was always the luxury hotel, reserved for special events like banquets, retirements, etc. It still packs a punch in terms of overall effect, but b/c they have that market covered, there's no incentive for them to do improvements. The lobby is still striking & I assume the bigger public spaces are too -- I had breakfast in a so-so dining --, but it's long past time to upgrade certain areas -- reception, elevators, hallways --, and until they do it, it's not getting a full top rating from me. There aren't a whole lot of other options nearby, but they do exist, and next time I'll make a bigger effort to book somewhere that doesn't promise a free breakfast & then give guests a token for $5 off on mediocre food.

The wall paper in room 236 is peeling giving the room a neglected feel. The spigots on the bathroom sink turned in opposite directions which was difficult to get used to. The room needed attention paid to the decor.

Staff was nice. The hotel is dated. Needs new carpet in rooms and theyre muggy. The bathrooms need to be renovated. Over all, the stay was okay.

Overnight stay, coming from Saratoga Race Course. Very friendly staff took care of all of our needs. Small but adequate room. Old and very historic hotel. Has been kept up nicely.

Some rooms recently renovated, we weren't sure if ours was one or not. The bathroom seemed as though it could have been but the room itself was iffy. The furniture was old and worn, the walls were "naked" no decoration/pictures. It seemed very strange you had to ask, as well as pay for a microwave and refrigerator to be in the room. We asked for a refrigerator when checking in, were told it was no problem. It never arrived that night, nor the next day. By day 2 we gave up on it. We read there was suppose to be coffee all day long in the lobby, the only time we saw it was in the AM during breakfast. We also read breakfast was included. What was included was a $5 token per person per day. The only thing on the menu for $5 was basically a continental breakfast. What you could do was put the $5 towards a more substantial breakfast and then pay the difference. Service at the "26" where you got breakfast was extremely slow,. One day we were there for 1+1/2 hours, waiting to give our order, have it prepared and then eat it (I must say though the food was very good). Clearly there was not enough staff to serve in a timely manner. There is only one ice machine located on the first floor, not one on each floors which would be more convenient. We had 2 rooms with 2 queen beds which were extremely comfortable. The only complaint regarding the bedding was the bottom sheet on one bed had 2 large tears in it. Surprised to see it. The room was kept clean every day.

Small room and bed. Unable to upgrade due to bookings. Clean. Dated decor.

We thoroughly enjoyed our weekend. Will definately stay here again. Love all the history of the area and hotel displayed throughout.

I was on a road trip, passing through town for the first time. Was really happy to find something so conveniently located in the heart of town, very affordable and easily accessible to restaurants, etc. Rooms were clean and comfortable. I also liked the art-deco details of this classic structure. Well maintained.

Run down hotel needs a makeover ASAP The lobby is big but empty and cold(atmosphere wise) the pool smelled chlorine from the outside just not what I would recommend.

We were walking distance to downtown. The hotel was very quiet and clean and the staff was friendly. I would stay there again.

Lovely hotel lobby. Room was okay, sheets were clean and crisp. Not very comfy bed or pillows. There were three huge disappointments, and one minor one. First, the bathroom. The floor was dirty, with hairs in the corners. The tub was coated in a film, and long hairs were plastered to the shower wall. There was mildew in the grout (both floor and shower). I asked housekeeping to come clean the tub and wall. All staff were very friendly and responsive to the problem. However, the housekeeper only used a spray bottle of something and wiped the dirt. She ran NO water, nor any scouring powder. That film did not go anywhere! The second disappointment was the lack of black-out curtains. The room was no darker than twilight at any time, due to parking lot lights and dawn. The third issue was the noise of doors slamming all night and day, and I could clearly hear the conversation of people walking by my door. The minor disappointment was that the Orbit page says "Free breakfast is included with your stay." Unfortunately, it's a pretty plain continental breakfast with some cheap-looking baked goods and fruit. So, so disappointing at $200+ per night!!!

Well it was ok but still has some unusual features. The bathroom layout sink and toilet heights were tiny and very low to the ground, every time I went to use the sink, towels fell on my head, no tub just a dirty plastic shower floor. Room service never delivered the fridge or microwave so on day 2 I said skip it. the 2 chairs were very stiff and not comfortable at all. Furniture old and scraped up. But the bed was INCREDIBLE! Slept the best ever in a hotel. So not the worst I Experienced, but I think more modern hotels are for me

Because The Queensbury is an older hotel, many of the amenities found in more modern facilities are not found here. The bathroom is very small, with only a shower stall, pedestal sink with a small mirror above, and toilet. There isn't any counter space, and, at five foot two inches tall, I could only see my face from the nose up. The beds were very comfortable, with pillows of varying levels of softness/firmness. The room felt slightly larger than a more modern hotel room.

Good hotel stay. Room cleanliness needs more attention.

Under new management, which will hopefully address the aging of the facilities, the siting of the hotel, with key feature of walkability to restaurants, cafés and bars makes it great for business travel and decent for family travel - with more charm and character than the driving centric highway oriented hotels of Lake George.

We enjoyed being in an older hotel. It had the beauty and space of a classic hotel. Breakfast was fresh and plentiful. The children loved the pool. And the nightly entertainment in the lounge was really good
