The hotel has been under renovations for some months now and as it has two wings it has been taking some time but should be completed within the next few months. Once opened completely it will be up with all the 5 star properties in KL. My wife and I originally booked for 5 nights a lifestyle club room in the east wing as we could access Petronas Tower views. On check in we were advised that we had been upgraded to a newly renovated club deluxe room in the west wing on the club lounge 25th floor. With a little apprehension we accepted but were truly delighted with the new room which was brand new, bright and clean and views of both the Petronas Towers and KL Tower . The club room benefits are fantastic with food and drink all day, afternoon tea, adequate hors d'oeuvres and top shelf cocktails and wine from 1730 to 1930. 3 items of laundry per day is also included not to mention numerous business services. All staff were exceptional in all departments especially in the club lounge and Temptations restaurant where we chose to enjoy breakfast each day due to the vast array of items from western to Asian delights. If we wanted we also could have had breakfast in the club lounge with a limited but adequate breakfast menu. We will be returning to KL again soon and have no hesitation in booking into this 5 star property.
This grand old hotel big selling point : wake up with the Tower view. We had rooms on 1208, 1211 and 1215 (East Wing) and they all had the Tower view from different angles. Well worth the bill. For KL standard, it is quite a good deal, and also a great breakfast buffet spread. We stayed 3 nights and were not sick of the food spread by the last morning. Unfortunately, we had no time for recreation as we were busy touring KL. using Grab and the train ( just 100 m away). FYI: no lifts at the station but upriding escalator is available. Only 2 train stops to the famous Bukit Bintang. Tip 1: take the FREE Go KL bus (pink bus) from across the hotel to enjoy a mini tour of the city. The whole loop should take about 40 mins or you can hop on- hop off interesting stop. This bus takes you to Bukit Bintang / near Jalan Alor too. The last stop is KLCC. We took this free bus to return to the hotel. Tip 2: A mere 5 min walk along the pavement gets you Nasi Kandar and NZ Curry for authentic Malaysian food. Walk on to KLCC if this is not your thing.
This hotel is really nice and its location is very close to the petronas , it is a walking distance. This area is full of towers and this hotel price comoared to the others considered a cheap one not exoensive . The room sizr is good not spacious but it is good and we were 2 adults and 2 kids. We visited from 2 years ago and they used to have a band near the west wing . The hotel has 2 wings and both are great . The breakfast buffet was offering a good variety . Ine of the things that my kids cant forget about this hotel is their jelly bears and cookies , try to buy it feon the coffee shop in the reception area they are really yummy fresh and different. There was a race at that time so the streey was closed and we had to walk around . Overall it is a nice hotel and within average budget.
The last I stayed here was in 2014. Checked in here last week as I had a meeting. I was assigned to the West Wing. Well...they have upgraded the rooms. Its very spacious and clean. I checked in through the Marriots App. Requested an early check-in. My room was ready when I arrived at 11.30 am. I appreciate the hotel for this as it gives me time to freshen up before going for my meeting at 2pm. There was some kind of conference going on and the hotel is full. I had lunch at their coffee house in the East Wing. The food was delivered fast to our table. The staff at the coffee house was courteous. Overall my stay here was wonderful. Would like to thank all the staff at Renaissance for this wonderful service. Keep it up.
Only stayed there for one night. The rooms on the East Wing are really tired and dated. These are the old hotel rooms that you expect from a 80s/90s hotel. However, the room did have a nice view of the Petronas tower As a Marriott Gold I was offered a king size room in the West Wing, however, I had requested a twin and apparently only the East Wing has those left. The lounge on the West Wing is nice with good view, but breakfast food selection is quite limited. The coffee maker was being serviced, so there's no way to even get hot water for tea. Service was friendly and readily available in the lounge.
We stayed here for 2 nights Nov 5-7. We got a room facing the Petronas Towers on the 22nd floor. The room was great. Clean and comfortable. The staff was very helpful and informative. We had breakfast one day and it was delicious. Too bad we couldn’t stay longer to try their buffet. Construction across the street made it a little difficult to cross the road after we got off the but we managed. The train is right across the street. We would definitely stay here again.
We had tried to communicate several times with this hotel before leaving the uk with no replies. Our room was lovely and faced the twin towers, unfortunately the bulbs in some of the lights did not work, we reported it, no change, on the second occasion it was fixed. At breakfast we had to prepare our own table with knives, forks and serviettes. We reported this to the front office staff and whilst I was talking another member of staff over talked my conversation. I said it was very rude to interrupt a customer while they were interacting with another member of staff. On leaving we were asked if everything was ok, we reported all the incidents and, and the front office said they would report them their manager. I was not convinced as each time before nothing seemed to have happened rejgardi g feedback. This is an internal hotel very busy every today, it just need some good Customer Service Training, a good reporting and follow up procedure. I would stay there again as we found everything else perfect and this may have been a one off.
The hotel is good but not all the rooms are the same. I wouldn’t rank it as 5 stars A hotel The breakfast is good and have diverse food The location of the hotel is good and it is located in the downtown of KL
I recently stayed at the Renaissance Kuala Lumpur - West Wing of the hotel. These rooms are already upgraded to the new standard. I thought it was very clean and minimalist in decor and very spacious. The bathroom was very large with a walk in shower stall and separate bath and the shower had a choice of telescopic style shower head or a rain shower head fixed to the ceiling. There was a refrigerator and in room safe with a very large wardrobe to hang clothes and and drawers to place items in and out of the way. Coffee maker and kettle were also in the cupboard next to the fridge along with complimentary tea, green tea , coffee and sugar. As I like to totally unpack on my holidays, I found the storage space quite acceptable. The positives are the excellent sized pool , excellent location to the Mono Rail- Bukit Nanas station and walking distance to the KLCC shopping centre/ Petronas Towers and if you want a good walk - close to the Menara KL tower. The pool is huge and very clean and has a swim up bar and many sun loungers. The full buffet breakfast was available in the West Wing side of the hotel and was very comprehensive. There was full choice of Western, North Asian and Asian cuisines . Note: No bacon on offer as Malaysia is a Muslim country but a substitute is in the form of beef brisket instead. Quite good ! The hotel staff were excellent and very helpful and I had no complaints with the service I received. Room service was excellent and the room make up service for beds, bathroom etc was efficient and always completed upon my return from breakfast. There is a small convenience store just down the road on Jalan Ampang from the hotel called "NZ" convenience store along with a hawker style food centre attached to it, which was cheap, clean and very nice food on offer. My only concern that I had with the hotel whilst staying in the West Wing was the plumbing noise. I could hear the sound of rushing water at certain times of the morning which sounded to me being the use of toilets or showers during morning times. Out of the morning hours, the hotel was very quiet and relaxing. I had a pool view and was recommended this as a street facing room can m=be quite noisy as the hotel is on a main road - Jalan Ampang and the traffic noise at night can be a intrusive according to friends that have also stayed at the same hotel in the same West Wing but were on street side of the hotel. Overall, I would recommend staying at this hotel and loom forward to return sometime soon to Kuala Lumpur and staying back at the Renaissance Hotel KL.
We arrived mid morning as part of a small party of 30 and were immediately checked in which was great. However this is a five star hotel and we had to bring our own luggage to our room, not much you might think but we had been traveling for nearly 20 hrs! The room was grand with both mineral water and tea and coffee making facilities. Breakfast was good with a great variety of different types of food. We eat once as a group in the buffet style restaurant and it was good, not great but good. I eat in the upmarket Chinese Dynasty restaurants and while expensive it was excellent but very quite! Big gripe was that we stayed in East Wing but bar was in West Wing, you nearly needed Sat Nave to find it. All in all I would stay there again
