We had no idea about Renaissance Hotel while booking our first ever trip in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, barring some reviews on TripAdvisor. Except for minority of reviews complaining about isolated & individual complaints, majority of reviews were positive. That was our only encouragement. However, upon arriving at Renaissance for check-in at 09:00am, I requested the front desk for an early check-in as we flew in during morning. No promises were made by the Receptionist but he did say he would try, however, hinting it might not be before 12:00 noon. Even that quoted time was 3hours away and we were dead tired, but what could we do except to wait. To our pleasant surprise we were given the room just after an hour wait. Oh boy, were we appreciative of that or not? Definitely, yeah! The lobby of Renaissance is spacious, well decorated and high-roofed giving a feeling of grandeur. Staff are pleasant, cordial and helpful to guests. From the moment we checked in and the time we checked out (7 nights) our stay was nothing but of comfort, cozy, and luxury. Rooms are big and bed just as neat & clean with a nice welcoming scent in the air. Clean bedsheets/towels awaited us every day we returned to room. Complimentary water bottles and tea/coffee stuff provided on a daily basis, and abundance of toiletries. Provision of bedside console to control air conditioning and room lights adds to convenience. Although the breakfast is an elaborative affair with local, continental, and Indian dishes, similar menu every day makes it a bit boring. Management will do well to bring more diversity to breakfast by introducing more continental dishes. Still not bad but catering to international customers need will enhance Renaissance image. Another area they must look into is the renovation; as wear & tear is apparent in furniture, toilet, and closets. Not much alarming as yet but it's there and will only grow uglier if not attended on time. Currently the West Wing is being renovated, hopefully East Wing too will be in the plans afterward. Renaissance Hotel is ideally located; Bukit Nanas monorail station is just across the street, hardly 2-3 minutes walk away. Petrona's Twin Towers mere at 10-12 minutes distance, while Menara KL only a 5-10 minutes drive away. You can even walk to Menara KL if you have the legs and will. The monorail option is a wonderful one as you can go to any tourists' spot within KL, and onto KL Sentral for wider range of trains going all places in KL and beyond. Taxis are always available in front of hotel. It would be unfair not to praise the hotel front desk staff especially Chloe and another gentleman whose name I have unfortunately forgot. We had our outbound flight at 11:45pm whereas hotel checkout time was 12:00noon. We were accommodated until 03:00 pm and allowed to leave our luggage in the lockers till we fetch it by 09:00 pm or later. Also, we had some medicines that needed to be kept in a refrigerator and some in freezer. It was done with a broad smile and okay sir music. Yes, definitely we would recommend Renaissance to our friends, an ourselves return to it next time we visit KL. Thumbs Up 👍👍
A good hotel in a not too busy part of town. Easy access to shopping center, The Petronas towers etc. Beautiful pool area with plenty of shaded seating areas with free wifi. The reception staff and the concierge did not seem to have a good handle on managing their posts - witnessed too many customers complaining about vrious issues. The Club Lounge level was too simple in its food selection.
The hotel has wonderful morning breakfast. They have a nice club on 33rd floor with great view of the downtown KL. The staff is extremely courteous. They even offer umbrellas (on loaner basis of course) for frequent rain showers. If you are celebrating a special occasion there do let them know, they take very special care of you! I enjoyed pool and gym facilities as well. The hotel is located in walking distance to KL Tower and shopping center. I would definitely stay there again. I recommend a lunch or dinner at the KL Tower revolving restaurant. The reservation agent will deliver the tickets for you to your hotel.
This is a large older hotel (about twenty years old) the rooms for the most part have been totally modernized in the last year. The modern rooms are large, bright and cheerful with first class fixtures but have lost a little of the historical elegance of the old style. Some work still need to be done on such items as the elevators - breakdowns but repaired quickly. This is a twin tower building (east and west towers). The restaurants and very large and well equipped gym are in the east tower and the club lounge is in the west tower. The club lounge is excellent while worth the extra cost. Its a short walk on the main floor between the two towers. Taxis are available from the front of either tower. The hotel is in an excellent location but crossing the streets, by foot in the area, is a little tricky - one must wait for a break in the traffic or walk about a block from the hotel to find a controlled crossing. There is a pool and tennis courts that I did not have time to use. I would stay at this on my next visit to the city.
I stayed in this hotel for 2 nights, the first stay I was assigned to a room at the west wing which was just decorated, as the higher floor is still in decoration, so I stayed as a lower floor, the room was nice, as well as the facilities, from the window, I could see the KL Tower clearly. One day later I came back, this time I got a room at east wing, the room was not yet decorated, everything looks very old, but the view was amazing because the window is facing Twin tower. And the WIFI was very fast and stable, so it's a very nice experience here, will surely come back next time.
My friends, colleague and i had a 5 course Chinese menu in Dynasty restaurant , food served were up to 5 star standard. Well presented, doneness of the steamed cod fish was just perfect. the Peking roast duck was crispy and well wrapped with sufficient sauce. The Food and Beverage director and service team was friendly and professional. Had great time there.
Had a nice stay on numerous occasions.Bothe East and West wings. Facilities are excellent and rooms very spacious. Would stay again on next visit. Staff really helpful and couldn't do enough for you! Thanks for nice stay!

We stayed here for three nights and were very happy with the customer service, meals and pool. The bed and pillows were the best I have had anywhere. Great location in walking distance to the towers and food outlets. Probably my favourite in KL so far.
I was attending an event at this hotel, I was early so decided to stop by the pool and have a drink. The pool is huge and inviting. Unfortunately I was shocked at the prices of cocktails.. RM49! Served in a plastic "glass" with no garnishing. Tasted average too. Oh well.. at least I enjoyed the event later
