Upon check in, I requested for an updated room since that's what made me decide to book our KL stay because they're promoting their newly updated rooms. Unfortunately, I was told I have to pay extra $$$ if I request for it. Rightaway I was very disappointed. The bed linens were stained, highly & visibly stained. How can a hotel not discard a stained linens ???. The room really stinks. It has a moldy smell and a smell of an old wet carpet. It was brought to the attention of the hotel staff. The hallway of the 10th floor is also stinky. Smell like a drainage. We requested an adapter to charge our phones but was asked to pay to rent it. And was horribly disappointed that basic needs that a hotel, in this modern times, can't be met unless you are willing to pay for it. The big compliment that this hotel deserve is the CONCIERGE STAFF - they were friendly, kind and helpful. NOT WORTH TO STAY IN THIS HOTEL.
It was a lifetime remembering experience for us .It was spacious room very clean and good viewsBrekfast was with lot of delicious choices.
Got high-floor room with great view of the Petronas Towers Front-desk was attentive and courteous
I had reserve a "Romance"package-lets say these days we miss that from our life so could not wait that we arrive ,check in go to the room and flowers waiting, with chocolates,a bottle of champagne and things which guys forget after being in longer relations. Well, when i arrived they did not find my reservation, they seemed to know nothing about Romance package, waited 1 hour to check in,got a smoking room/which should be non smoking/,and after making complain a bit harder than before ,finally got what i payed for, except flowers, champagne arrived when we were already in the room.well did not feel too much romantic about the check in and the rest.
This hotel had a great location. It only took a few mins to walk to the Petronas Towers and a street with a lot of nightlife bars were very close by. The hotel was very nice and clean overall and the staff was very helpful.
For the Renaissance Hotel, I expected a LOT more! The hotel room was dirty and all the furniture and bedding was very very old. Also, and this is random, I couldnt find a blow dryer in the room so I called down to ask about it. Found out they kept it in the writing desk drawer and you couldnt remove it because the cord went through the back of the drawer through a little hole and into the wall. I had to dry my hair with my head about a foot away from the desk and no mirror to see myself. The pool was nice, but it was incredibly cold. I understand Kuala Lumpur is pretty hot, but the pool was almost unbearable. Also, the buffet lunch was horrible and very expensive. I stayed in a lot of hotels in the area and I definitely wouldn't recommend the Renaissance.
I stayed at the Renaissance after a vacation with two friends to Borneo and Redang Island. We stayed in the West Tower, and the room was standard luxury with large marble bathroom, plush beds and view of Petronas Tower from the large window. There was a sitting area next to the window, with two comfortable chairs, table and large desk. The carpet and furnishings were not worn at all, and were clean. The staff was always very pleasant and helpful. The breakfasts were very well done, with fresh baked breads, egg prep station, fresh waffles, etc. The hotel restaurants were all overly expensive. There were no restaurants within easy walking, but many a short taxi ride away. The hotel is located three blocks from Petronas Tower and a 10-15 minute taxi ride to Batu Caves. There are many shopping malls nearby. I would definitely stay here again.
The hotels location is very good around 5 min walk to the KLCC. The stuff is very friendly and the restaurants are very good. The breakfast buffet was a bit crowded no matter what time you got there. The biggest draw back was the electrical condition of the room. All lights are controlled by a remote at the bed which did not work proper. When is started the water heater the light went out. The pool area is very nice and relaxing after a long day of work. All over all the hotel is OK for the price you pay.
