We stayed here as 2 families in the East Wing which is older and the rooms are a little dated, however, they have their own charm in terms of the old feel. I stayed in the Suite facing the Petronas Twin Towers with my family and the suite was quite spacious with a sitting area with a separate dining area and the master bed room with attached bathroom with an extra large king size bed. My sister in Law stayed in a standard room 2 rooms next to us with same view and even her room was spacious. The hotel is in a very busy area 5-7 mins walk from Petronas Twin Tower and not far from Jalan Ampang as well. The hallway between East and West Wing and the Lobby at West Wing is more grand and has old world charm whereas the rooms although refurbished and modern in the West Wing don't give the same warm & cosy feel but more like a business hotel. The Lounge is at the West Wing and in my view, I didn't find it to be very special like some other Marriott Lounges I have visited as a part of my elite membership. The breakfast has a lot of options but its very crowded so go in early. The food itself is good and the little cake shop behind the reception at East Wing is recommended as the prices are reasonable and the taste is really good. I would highly recommend the hotel for families and due to its location bang in the middle of major tourist attractions with a good value for money.
The rooms are newly refurbished and spacious. The service is also personal and they make an effort to make you feel welcome. I was traveling with children and they enjoid the large pool and new playground. If you have the opportunity I recommend going for the lounge access rooms. The service is great at the lounge and Meor that works there goes the extra mile to get into my kids good graces.
We stayed in the Renaissance for the second half of our holiday in KL and were overwhelmed by the quality of the property. We had been warned that the Renaissance was old and tired, but we saw zero evidence of this. The hotel has two wings (East and West) with a conference centre in between. It was characterised by opulent chandeliers, sweeping black marble staircases and sky high ceilings. Upon check in we were immediately upgraded to the recently renovated West Wing, and were impressed by the size of the room and the modern décor. The pool was so big, we couldn't fit it all in one photo, and the aqua bean bags floating on it were a complete hoot for our child to play on! The staff were incredibly attentive and accommodating - no request was too hard. They made us feel completely at home. While we did not partake of the buffet lunch, we did see an extraordinary range of beautiful foods laid out, covering many different cuisine styles. We would visit this hotel again ANY DAY.
my visit to this hotel bring me lots of memory bcoz i stay in this hotel very often for holiday...but this time the hotel make full upgrade for their west wing and my floor is 21....so hype and modern upgrading..... really love it..... also together with the lounge.... so cozy..... here some photo to share...
Great hotel, decent room and great view on the kl towers. Insanely big breakfast buffet, they have all you can imagine... Pool looked great. Ideally located next to 2 metro-/ skylines plus the Petronas towers in a few minutes walking. Staff is happy to call you a taxi any time too, however safest and cheapest would be grab in KL. Staff very helpful, especially Maxime at reception was very helpful by being pro-active. Would be happy to come back for my next visit!
I have stayed at other propeties at KL, but return to te Renaissance as I feel it offers great. As a Platinu member, I receive a room upgrade and club floor access, which is a great benefit. The West Wing was renovated and the rooms are great. The club lounge offers a great breakfast as well as happy hour food and drinks, though you can have breakfast at the main restaurant for more selectio. The staff, including bell, front desk, and lounge staff were great, friendly and helful. Location is good, short walk to Petronas Towes and Butak Bintang areas. There is a people mover station across the street than can connect you to busier stations. Considering the quality, the price is very reasonable so great value.
I have been staying at different hotels whenever I travel for work into Kuala Lumpur. I must admit Renaissance Hotel wasn't in one of my preferred list of hotels to stay in. But of late, I have noted the service standards of Renaissance have improved significantly and it is clear that the team is putting great effort to enhance customer satisfaction. I have to commend specifically the team at the Club Floor lounge. They are there to serve and they worked very hard at it. Kudos to them for the taking their service standard to the next level. Because of them Renaissance is now one of my preferred hotels when I travel to KL monthly.
Stayed in hotel for 2 nights. Being a platinum member, I was upgraded to Suite room. Check In was smooth. Suite was nice and big. But I am not sure who has designed washrooms of suites. They have put a very small wash basin along with a small cubicle for showers. Breakfast spread is nice and it has some Indian dishes as well. Overall Service is satisfactory.
This was our 2nd stay at renaissance, we stayed in 2016 and came back again this year. We were originally booked into east wing with tower view however it was a little small for a family of 5, east wing rooms are a little dated, but very clean. After speaking to reception they offered us a west wing room which had been renovated, these rooms are brilliant, very modern and very spacious this room had a view of the KL tower. This room was more than big enough for a family of 5. We still went to breakfast at Temptations, the breakfast is highly recommended, there is something for everyone, even my fussy 3 year old found something to eat. The breakfast staff are fantastic, very friendly and helpful, especially Ibrahim, who my children loved to see in the mornin, he always remembered there hot chocolate. Pools are great, hotel is a short walk to Petronas towers, perfect location for families. We stayed in 2 different rooms as we travelled to penang for a few days and then came back to KL. The second part of our stay was in the Renaissance suite, which is brilliant, very spacious and lovely having the separate lounge area. The staff at renaissance are fantastic, cannot fault them at all, there always so helpful and friendly. Miss Nancy and Miss Lillian always make us feel so welcome. I will be recommending Renaissance to everyone I know, and we will definetly be booking another stay here soon.
After reading the reviews, I decided to book this property - on reflection, I should have insisted on the west wing. I was unfortunately allocated to the east wing. My room was comfortable - the bed was amazing, the room was immaculately clean and had an amazing view straight over the twin towers - it just lacked some of the creature comforts that I would have liked. The main reason I say this is that I moved to the Pullman after 3 nights here and for the same price, it is a much more modern room. Hopefully the renovation of the east wing happens soon as this will bring this hotel up to 5 stars for me.
