Nagarajan was super attentive that I was surprised to find a room filled with birthday balloons and cake. It was unfortunate that I had to travel during my birthday, but what would ease that pain when you were greet with attention from the hotel on your special day. The food at the restaurant was amazing too. I will definitely come back here again for my business trip and leisure trip.
One of the most shocking is westin becomes not like before .. It seems 4 star or maybe 3star becouse of the following : 1-service was not good .. they take long time to bring what you need as gust (for me i order towels take a long time!!!) 2-i request from the reception to put and telephone on my room they make me happy my calling maintenance but no body shown more than 2 days !! 3-bad furniture of the hotel seems we are on 2000 not 2017 .. 4-there is no Sound insulators so i know when my neighbor room in upper floor or even beside me take a shower or ever using water .. 5-they put an used tawel instead of change it !!! So is that an 5 star hotel (FyI i'm put the card to change the towels but as I mentioned no body take seriously that's should be an westin hotel ) 6-i change my room 3 times due to hole in window which made noisy . 7-dust are everywhere and i found ant on my bed .. So can anyone told me that a 5 star hotel !!!
First timer in kl and staying at Westin Like my curries but was desperate for some good Italian Didn't have to look far. Prego within the Westin came to rescue. Nice simple food cooked well with excellent service Chef Ricky and waiter Nazir ensured my requirement for a good Italian meal was met. Had the penne arribiata with a fantastic rocket Parmesan and pear salad. The dressing was really good. Really recommend.
Fast check in / out service at reception counter, nice food, free room upgrade, Westin Hotel KL honor Elite SPG members, lounge access, nice toilet amenities, Friendly staff, the room is clean and comfy esp. Heavenly bed. Overall, excellent service and hospitality from Westin KL.
Had a relaxing staycation 2 months ago and i must say it was wonderful. To Mr Rain, your service is excellent. Thank you for being so helpful and friendly. My stay was made even more memorable because of this guy. Keep up the good work. Will definitely come back! Cheers.
Very much in standard style of modern city hotels, good size room, all the facilities you'd expect, etc... Room air con worked brilliantly (strange thing to highlight but a real issue in some hotels) although I found the temperature in meeting rooms chilling - a common problem in Asia I'll admit. Service was excellent. I stupidly asked my room to be cleaned then left the 'do not disturb' light on, room service tried really hard to contact me but in the end respected privacy notice (as they should). Hidayat has to be specifically complemented for excellent assistance on arrival. Great location if you want to shop, but traffic as expected for centre location.
This was my third business meeting in Kuala Lumpur. I hosted my first two at the Hilton KL Sentral. Both of which were very successful, in part, as a result of the execution by the hotel. We were forced to explore other properties because the Hilton was not available for our dates. I am a lifetime Platinum member with Marriott and none of the properties were available, either. With the merger of Marriott with SPG, I was open to considering the Westin. The long distance prep and negotiations had highs and lows in terms of responsiveness, willingness to negotiate and flexibility. I wanted to highlight what works and what needs improvement in terms of executing on a larger scale event at the Westin KL. The Staff On the whole, very polite, professional, courteous. Always ready with a smile and greeting. This was common across all aspects of their operation. Front Desk While I just paid a compliment to the staff, one area of noticeable improvement is the responsiveness and execution by the front desk staff. When I checked-in, despite my highest level elite status with SPG (via Marriott), there was no recognition of my status. And while I received an (expected) upgrade, it was nothing like what I should have been afforded. Further, we needed the front desk to execute on handing out packets to certain guests. We provided very clear and precise instructions. And they failed at this. I ended up doing their work for them. Food Outstanding. Well done. Well executed. All of my guests were very happy and satisfied. And they were very accommodating to the various dietary needs of my guests. The Living Room breakfast buffet is insanely good. A+ here. Event Execution Again, I stand by my assessment of the staff holistically. And, there were misses in many of the basics. Every day, the men’s room ran out of paper towel and other basics. On multiple occasions I was the one reminding the staff to care for the basics as rest room management when you have a large group in a conference. We had a small conference room as our dedicated office. We had a mini-fridge and requested certain beverages to be stocked for the duration of the program. It took three days of asking before they delivered. The most egregious error was the most basic oversight. During our pre-con, we specifically and explicitly made it clear (and it was in the contract) that no tours of any of our meeting space at any time. During our prep and set-up, staff from the hotel brought prospective clients through our general session space in Westin 1. Sleeping Rooms All good. No complaints from anyone. Which is a key to a successful program such as ours. Fitness Decent. I have seen better in a higher end hotel like the Westin. A bit tiny. And not much variety. Needs improvement. Executive Lounge High quality. Great place to escape. Good food. Drink. Views. In the end, we had a great week. No doubt. And, if I return to KL for an event, I would give consideration to the Westin and Hilton.
Totally disappointed at this visit. How untrained can be room service totally ignoring Privacy sign and opening the door after the single knock ? How not nice to change your room to lower level in the middle of trip because of planned and unadvised renovation ? Separately to mention disaster food at Dining room and Prego serving stale and spoiled desserts !!! Not coming back ...
As far as we can tell (from personal experience), it seems like that the executive room is identical to the deluxe/premium room, the only additional perk would be access to the executive lounge with complimentary breakfast, cocktail (dinner) and drinks throughout the day. It would have been ideal for the rooms to be larger or have more furniture/facilities for the additional price we pay. Overall, for the price we paid, Westin would not be our first option when we visit KL again in future. Overall, the service from the staff was decent, especially those at the executive lounge. The omelette chef at the lounge was a masterchef - so much that other guests asked where he was when he didnt show up. Be sure to try one at breakfast! We found the hotel soap to be of a relatively poor quality to the SPG counterparts (Sheraton and Le Meridien). The selection of tea in the room was limited (4 flavours); the tea hailing from an unknown brand - JING (as compared to the abovementioned hotels providing TWG and Harney & Sons tea respectively). To separate the great hotels from the good, I'd have to nitpick. Whereas the staff at the main doors of Sheraton and Le Meridien never failed to greet us, but as we were often dressed informally at the Westin, sometimes the staff just looked at us, to which we smiled back. A nice touch was that the Operational Excellence Manager whatsapped me a day after we checked out to ask for feedback on our stay and offered a free upgrade on our next trip.
Besides being conveniently located right opposite the Pavillion, what make our recent stay great was the great team of staff welcoming and attending to us...from our luggage helper Mizi to all the warm people at the reception. The business lounge is big enough and comfortable and has a good spread during cocktail hours. Try the roast beef if it is on the menu. Excellent place to stay for business and shopping.
