We stayed at JW Marriott KL for 3 nights. When we checked in, we were greeted by the friendly and knowledgable staff, Miss Afiqah at the front desk. The check in process was smooth. The location of the hotel is great as it is located in the shopping district of KL. It is also connected to Starhill and just a crossing away to Pavillion. Shopping and gastronomical choices are abundance. The rooms are modern and very clean. The staff there are friendly and helpful. I do recommend the buffet breakfast for the tasty 'roti canai' and 'nasi lemak'. One of the best served in a 5 star hotel. Unfortunately, the swimming pool is currently under renovation though you do have access to the other pools nearby in Westin or Ritz Carlton. One suggestion to consider could be to have a 'kids club' set up in the hotel so that parents can truly enjoy the shopping experience. Jefry Rizal & Bibi Mumtaz.
Currently undergoing renovations, so I'd recommend scheduling a trip after Dec 2017 as that is when I was told the renovations will be done. No swimming pool at the moment - you'll have to walk to the nearby Ritz Carlton or Westin if you want to use a pool. The one at Ritz is small, not enough for swimming laps, but good enough for tanning I guess. The noise from the drilling didn't bother me much while I was in the club lounge, but it might be annoying to some people. Another down side to the renovations is that there is an extremely long waiting time for elevators. Service was friendly & helpful, very appreciated & made our club lounge experience lovely. The club lounge is on the 2nd floor, which I find strange because I'd love to be in a lounge on a high floor with a great view of the city. The open bar from 5:30-7:30PM daily (drinks til 9:30PM) was great. Breakfast in the lounge has less variety than at Shook, but the quality of food is higher & of course service tonnes better. Stayed in the junior suite, requested for early check in & late check out; was not promised this but it was executed on the day we checked in, which we were so grateful for. The suite itself was lovely; the bed was comfortable (not too soft) & when we requested for an extra pillow, it was delivered promptly. Every evening when we returned to our suite, it was extremely tidy & everything (toiletries, coffee capsules, bottled water) was replenished without fail. Location is great; right outside the lobby (exit & turn left), there is a bus stop for Go-KL free shuttle bus that takes you to different places of interest. There is a Sephora next door & shopping malls are a plenty (Lot 10, Pavilion, etc). Overall a highly recommended experience.
Last stayed hear a year back. Returned for a short 3 days stay after a hectic business event. Hotel is nice as always with its newly renovated rooms. Special mention to Faizal and Head Chef Yusof. Faizal works tirelessly with a big smile on his face no matter how pack the restaurant is and Chef Yusuf is probally the most hands on chef that i have met in all my trips around the world! He goes table to table to meet guests and serves them personally. My only drawback is the Lounge that has a strict no children policy and even with a sleeping 2 year old tucked in a tula the Manager of the Lounge exercised no flexibility. Was told that he would go the extra mile bringing sandwiches up to the room but this never took place sadly as he claimed he was busy. Nevertheless it was a good stay thanks to Peshwin the supervisor from the lounge so surely we will be back.
The hotel is great and the staff awesome . The location is very good, close to all the malls and restaurants. You don't even need a cab. There is a Feast Village in the hotel with 12 restaurants so if you do not want to go out you can find plenty to eat in the hotel. The only drawback is that there is not enough parking/ drive in space , so when our private taxi would come to pick us up the staff would not let them park on the portico for even couple of mintes; that was a little problematic However in other respects the hotel had good customer service. On one night I was awakened around 1 am with banging on my door. The front desk immediately helped me -traced the person banging on my door and calmed my fears . Would definitely recommend this hotel
Stayed here during a family vacation trip to KL. The location is excellent, close to everything including the Pavilion Mall for great food, shopping and entertainment. Rooms are bit small but beds are comfortable. Service was friendly and professional and made our stay more enjoyable. The breakfast was amazing with huge spread. Had dinner at the Shanghai Restaurant and food was great. Would definitely stay again as you can't beat the location.
Absolutely stunning hotel and service. We have stayed here on two separate occassions and both trips have truly lived up to the Marriott standard we are use to. They recently finished the hotel renovations and the lounge and upgraded rooms are truly amazing. As for the location you can not get any more central to the main attractions.
Haven't been in JW for a while due to the ongoing renovations. Am thrilled to find their new look rooms and lobby. One thing that hasn't changed is the great customer and hospitality service from their staff.
Renovations, Terrible process, Failure prone Designs but compensated by acceptable service and location. First time @ JW KL, and what a disappointment. Lobby itself looks like I am entering a serviced apartment while the lift took a good 5 min to appear. Did I say that we took another 10 min to reach our room? Be it the long queues at lifts (seriously JW??), not working lifts, access card rejections and refusing to move from Ground floor.. Staff were there all the time but they appear to be busy or well aware that this is not their problem (??) Rooms are ok and nothing great to talk about. Food: Be it breakfast, or in-room dining was a huge disappointment. Find your way to breakfast, queue up to sign the bill first (??) and walk around to find an empty table. Just like a food court.. Oh yeah, I overheard a complaint that somebody else took their table while the original guest went to get some food. So good to start carrying the tissue to chope. Finally, I fully understood that the hotel is under renovation but a little proactiveness and empathy can go a long way. The 'renovation' should not be an excuse for guests to get any thing less than JW experience.
JW Marriott is in the heart of KL. Pavilion shopping center is just across the street. It is very easy to go for shopping, dinning, or drinking. The hotel is in remodeling at this point. I got a newly renovated room during my stay. The room is big, clean, and comfortable. I really like the room. However, the gym and executive lounge lounge are in the temporary sites. I am looking forward to visiting the renovated executive lounge and gym next time. I also want to take this opportunity to thank the Executive Lounge Manager (Velu). I met him at the first day of my stay. Whenever I met him during my stay, he was always with full of energy and hospitality. I really enjoyed his services. He and other hotel staff gave me wonderful experience at JW Marriott. I am looking forward to my next visiting...
Neither am I rich nor am I royalty but the staff here at the JW made me feel like both. All the -ve reviews I kept reading about the ongoing renovation made me almost cancel my reservation in favor of The Majestic. Enter Wonder woman - Shireen Monteiro who took it upon herself to make sure our stay was most comfortable, I am blown away by the fact that every little aspect of our stay was looked into and catered to with flawless execution. The entire staff went above and beyond the call of duty to help their guests and made sure the stay was truly wonderful. They were pulling 12 hour shifts but still had a smile on their face and always willing to help. Bill Marriott should be proud that such great people are part of his team.
